“Trump will increase funding for law enforcement to improve capacity, training, and accountability, Pence said.

“In the wake of that tragedy in Minneapolis now many weeks ago, President Trump has made it clear that we’re going to give more resources to law enforcement to improve public safety, to improve officer training, and accountability.”

Pence concluded, “We’re not going to defund the police. We’re going to fund law enforcement. We’re going to back the blue, even while we work to improve public safety and improve the lives of all of the families in our cities, all of the minority families, African American, Hispanic American, and every family impacted by the scourge of violence that’s frankly gone on for too long in too many American cities.”

Thank you Vice President Pence! We back the Blue! Blue lives matter and it’s time to increase support for the thin blue line. Several localities, smaller cities, and red states are actually increasing funding for LEO’s.

Had one here that I didn't know about. News said there was a good turnout and of course some BLM sheads to counter rally

Candidated running on a "law and order' platform are normally winners, especially when bulletins are put out in citied like Minneapolis that tell the population they can expect to be robbed and instructions on how to handle that situation.
That may backfire on the democrats as there is not a gun or box of ammo to be found in that city.

There was no counter rally here. Most cities under 100k population that have back their blue events don’t face counter protests from BLM. We did have our own peaceful BLM event in June that police participated in but did not take a knee.

Our city is 8K. They had a BLM event scheduled but cancelled due to rain. Have a peaceful and real protest all you want but property destruction wont fly here. Roots run deep here and you wont get to tear up heritage without resistence.

I heard that around the time we had our peaceful BLM event that antifa from Portland were car pooling to Medford, Ore. and our BLM church group canceled their event that was going to be a march on our busiest streets with the police for fear that some of Portland’s antifa was going to come here to infiltrate it and mess with our business district along the route. Antifa was not welcome in Medford. I was going to attend the cancelled event because what happened to Floyd was wrong and it was a church group and they invited the police to march with them.

I voted yes in the OP.

Law and order, not communism and violence are what rules this country.

We have already seen massive spikes in crime wherever "defund the police" riots of peace emerge.

And Biden wants to bring that to your suburb or town.

I BLAME SYSTEMIC RACISM IN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY: Why won’t Democrats listen to blacks about defunding cops?

“Talk about out-of-touch pols. According to a new Gallup survey, nearly nine out of 10 respondents — and more than eight of 10 African Americans — oppose having police spend less time in their areas. Yet Democratic politicians have been racing to ‘defund the police’ all the same.”

Its clear that leftist politicians are unwilling or incapable of handling their high crime domains.

Cutting funding for law enforcement makes crime worse.

No it doesn't - bad law makes crime worse ... and it is bad law that is the problem in this nation and the root cause of the civil unrest.

Bad laws certainly contribute-but what we are seeing in blue cities in blue states is an explosion of crime from the not being able to enforce laws.

Now, if you support the abolishing of gun laws, and support CCW and Castle doctrine Im listening.

Just make sure you also refund any and all taxes that I am forced to pay for bad laws and law enforcement.

BTW, cutting the funding of police does not lead to the absence of law enforcement-it just transfers over to private for profit instutions, and individuals.

You have already seen this in jails and fire departments.

Do you want to go there? I might.

The explosion in crime is due to years of "illegitimate abuse of authority" - and increased police powers to effect that abuse of authority - justified by "The War on Drugs" - "The War on Terror "

Tell you what - how about we turn 100 million US criminals - into law abiding citizens with the stroke of a pen !? - by decriminalizing Pot.

No more "No knock warrants" Swat teams showing up at someones house over a bag of pot. No more running around chasing 100 million US citizens - because these citizens are no longer criminals.

The explosion of crime in the last few months was because of less support for cops.

Thats telling criminals to enjoy themselves.

You might be able to convince me about pot, though it has its own real problems-but that is some low hanging fruit when people are being killed, raped, and robbed.

The explosion of Crime is due to latent hostility that has build up over many years - due to 1) illegitimate authority 2) abuse of that authority targeting a certain segment of the population .. because it is simply not realistic to go after all 100 Million "Pot Criminals"

The conversation about pot is simple for anyone who has a sniff of what the principles of Republicanism are - and it matters not what you or I think about it. Either you have 67% of citizens who agree with criminalization of Pot - or you do not.

End of discussion. If that bar is not met - then the law is illegitimate - and the authority maintaining that law needs to be removed - as per the DOI.

You are talking about the last 3 decades and I am talking about the last few months.

Are you suggesting that a 2/3's vote determines the soundness of principles and legality?

That would be the tyranny of the majority-do you support that?
