Judge not, that ye may not be judged,

2 for in what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged, and in what measure ye measure, it shall be measured to you.

The clearest and by far the most lengthy description of Judgement - not so much when but how - is in the sermon on the mount (Matt 5-7) - and since we are in Matt - the sheep and shepherd's parable Matt 25 - which is in keeping with the theme in that Sermon

Here we have not one passage - of which there may be a number of interpretations - "Only through Me" - could mean a number of things -with at lest two very conflicting possibilities.

We have an entire Sermon - the Theme of which is how to get through the pearly gates - presumably after death - not prior - but what does it matter - at some point in the future - a judgement is foretold

Not all who have faith in the lord will make it - according to Matt 7:21 - "Only those that do the will of the Father"

So back to my original question .. Who is "The Father" - but more to the Sermon on the Mount - the theme of which - is what is his will ?

So what is the will of the Father - according to this sermon and Matt 25 and how does one take this as a Christian - not having Luke John - Only Matt - Mark - not a Pauline Christian - but for those of the Church of Jerusalem - those preached to by the disciples- a group that disappeared within a few decades after the fall of the temple.

Jesus sent the disciples to preach to the lost sheep of Israel - and that is what they did - what did these folks think the will of the Father was - because Jesus is preaching this Sermon to them-

And yet we tear down the monuments, statues, memorials and plaques of great men because someone called them racist. What a double standard!

Yeah, so King toured the country, having sex with prostitutes while trying to be a man of God. King talked a lot of skeet. He didn't "accomplish" a flipping thing.

No argument there. The point is, he was not the choir boy as an adult as when he was younger. You have those people who make people from the south into one dimensional dolts in order to justify the war of genocide against whites only to learn that the left's heroes are scumbags too.

Are you suggesting that any christian who had sex with a prostitute is no longer a christian, I feel the ranks of gods believers just diminished by a large amount!

No early Christians believed in the trinity that was a directive from the Papacy pagans to make Christianity a monotheistic religion from three entities.

You can frequent prostitutes and still be a Christian. That's not the point. What the real point is, if white person is evil because they retain their heritage (i.e. like southern heritage) they can still be good people and so forth and so on. But, liberals don't believe that. So, King was not a good man. He deserves no free pass from society. That he claimed to be a pastor while engaging in acts such as frequenting prostitutes and not reporting a rape speaks volumes regarding his character (actually the lack thereof.) On the whole, the facts point to a simple truth: the choir boy was using religion to push a political agenda and there is no evidence that he was ever a Christian - not by his own words and not by his deeds.

Unfortunately, not any longer. That ended back in Charlottesville when Trump presumed that some racists were otherwise good people.

That the allegations were true was verified by Ralph David Abernathy who was with MLK when he was killed. Abernathy talks about King's promiscuity in his book "The Walls Came Tumbling Down."

Yeah I did study law and get a few pieces of paper to put on the wall to attest to that, but I'm sure most political propaganda prostitutes know the law better than I do. But, the facts are what the facts are and if they were not true, then King's representatives and the government have a lot of explaining to do because they sealed King's records, hoping you'd never learn the truth. I'm one of those kind of guys that would put the political B.S. aside and look for the facts (which are relatively unimportant in modern society.) What about you?

I think the question was whether doing works is sufficient.

In your quote from Matthew, he's talking to his followers and stating that works are a requirement.

But, that doesn't say it is sufficient.

I don't know of ANY branc of Christianity that believes that works are sufficient.

I do see Matthew's recounting as being incredibly powerful. It overshadows the golden rule hands down.

No, I judge him by God's Word. Among MANY references, see II John 7 about false teachers, who "do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh". I John 4:2 talks about the doctrinal test to discern false teachers, "Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God." The implication being, if not, then they are from Satan. The ethical test was whether these teachers practiced righteousness and obeyed God's commands. "We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands." In addition to being a liberal revisionist heretic, MLK fails that one too. He was a serial adulterer, and in fact the night before he was shot was with a mistress in that hotel room. Theological liberalism and immorality often go together.

We all have our opinions, but Jesus will decide that one. He said His true disciples where those who follow his commandments, and that not everyone coming to Him on the Last Day will be admitted.

    Not true. https://www.catholic.com/tract/the-trinity

The idea of the Trinity can be found as early as Genesis, "Let US make man in OUR image."

Yes, the vast majority of the world's Christians would agree on the essentials of the faith as expressed in the Creeds for instance. The Trinity is part of those Creeds.

No it doesn't, the demons believe that much.

Well that's an interesting smear on 2,000,000,000 people.

We can agree on that, but a different question from the OP. I do find it ironic that a heterodox like MLK fought for a biblical view of our fellow men against others of that time who claimed to be Bible believers.

Actually by a lone kook, much like Lincoln was.

I prefer the term Bible believer, Jesus was one of those. He believed in a literal Adam, Jonah, and Noah.
