It would protect that if the Supreme Court were to overturn Obamacare since the mandate was a tax to fund it and its no longer in effect, thus the reason why Chief Justice Roberts allowed it to be is no longer there, as the court invalidated all other options for allowing it in the same original ruling.

Democrats dropped a trillion from their asking price and the White House said no way.

Also, if he hasn't issued an executive order, why are you praising him for helping out the working man?

No, it wouldn't protect anything because an executive order would not limit the ability of private insurance companies from refusing to allow insurance for pre-existing conditions.

Also, the Trump administration is the one pushing for the Supreme Court to overturn Obamacare.

Actually it was state AG’s who sued to overturn Obamacare on the grounds being reviewed by the Supreme Court. Trump administration simply filed a brief with the court in that already existing case.

Most employees have it taken out of every paycheck. It’s a set % of income up to around 125k.

And their brief - in support of those lawsuits - went further than the AGs who merely wanted to severe the requirement that everyone must purchase insurance to declare that the ENTIRE law, including the protections against pre-existing conditions, should be struck down.

There is no argument to be made here. Trump wants to overturn protections for pre-existing conditions.

Are you joking? Thanking the GOP criminals and the grifter-in-chef for killing Social Security and Medicare?

Then you agree it is not a precedent. All it is is this.......'But Mum, he did it too, yesterday.' Trite to say, that does not make it right.

I dont think he wants to but here's the kicker he and Republicans think if it gets overturned and the catastrophe that would ensue would push dems to make a deal in the Republicans favor I think that has been Republicans plan all along.

Did you even read my post? The word "precedent" is not confined strictly to the courts. Why are you even arguing this? Pretty sure I know how my country works a lot better than you do. Whether you want to acknowledge it or not. A President can set precedent.

Btw, here's two posts of yours that shows that you know it is not just the courts that set precedent.

So just stop with your semantic game because your own words betray you.

Explain how removing payroll tax assists the unemployed. I can’t wait to heat this.

Like Obama did DACA, after he said he couldn't do it because he wasn't a king?

    Here ya go.

Trump signs executive orders on coronavirus economic relief

    Summary:

    1. Defer student loan payments through the end of the year
    2. Continue eviction moratoriums
    3. Extend enhanced unemployment benefits that expired last week, but at a reduced level of $400 instead of the prior $600
    4. payroll tax holiday for those making under 100k a year

And didn't he also say he wants to cut the capital gains tax as well, throwing ad bone to the wealthy stock owners. He evidently thinks that the National debt is to be treated like bankruptcy court treated him???? Nutty as a fruit cake.

The EO's have been signed. Read the post just above yours, or at least the link in it. Post 68. Nothing in there about a capital gains tax.

The president will extend unemployment benefits, defer student loan payments and interest, extend the eviction moratorium and order health insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions.

His hand was forced by Democrats who hold critical relief hostage. Trump will use his authority as president to get Americans the relief they need.

If Democrats don't want Americans to get this relief, they can sue him.

There are many families where one of the earners is now out of work. There are many families where the government-run public education no longer provides childcare and so now they have more expenses.

There already is a threshold for payroll taxes.

The Constitution says taxes are Congress's powers, not the President's. Not that this administration has ever given two shits about the Constitution.

I agree that suspending the payroll tax does nothing about this particular crisis. This sounds like Larry Kudlow was whispering in his ear.

The Democrats never think their extra legal actions will come back to bite them.
