It should have by policy been hard to do . If those goods were subject to wage equaling tariffs , no incentive to off shore.

    Should it be illegal?
If you owned a company would you do it?

Your problem is that the math is based on archaic numbers that no longer reflect the modern manufacturing process.

Hell no! Its treason against our people. It weakens America and is a matter of national security. Our form of govt is a republic not oligarchy. Capitalism should be used in the best interests of all of our people not just our elites.

I was thinking of something along the lines of credible research, not platitudes.

    Uh huh.
What tax rates for rates for each income and wealth group.
If you don’t provide that, you are kvetching with no intention of substantive input and a waste of my time.

What specific changes do you support which are open to economic debate? If you have none then don’t waste my precious time!!

Be specific about your solutions or shut up!
No time for complaints without plans for resolution on my watch.

I see. I asked you to put some meat on the bones of your assertions and, after coming up empty, you accuse me of wasting your time. I offered you some concrete ideas from economists on how to address income/wealth disparity but that wasn't good enough because they weren't in my own words. It's apparent you don't want to discuss this issue in a rigorous way.

What you are proposing is wildly racist. It is basically socialism which concludes that some people cannot provide for themselves.

Reverse the rush to the bottom policies.

Protect the people as the founders did.

Stop what the elites have done by using capitalism to benefit all of us. Not just max profits for the few by destroying living wages and our middle.

If you can't grasp that don't waste your time. Its above your pay grade

I can see you don't know what you are talking about, defend what you said or drop it.

Your ideas. Not cut and paste.
Original ideas. Not lazy google search results.
I did it why can’t you?

I won’t waste my time on non specifics.
Thank you for reminding me of priorities.

As you know, I have defended it, I named the names you asked for, and all you have done -- all you are evidently able to do -- is refuse to know the facts I identified. So I don't have to defend what I said any more until you come up with a substantive criticism of it, which I predict you cannot.

And the only people who can fix that are those that make the laws. They failed. As always.

As usual, you are talking about symptoms and refusing to see, discuss, or think about the disease. What is it about domestic manufacturing that makes offshoring so attractive?

All that would do is raise prices. The money would go into the treasury, so it depends what you plan to do with the money whether tariffs benefit anyone. They don't benefit consumers, and they have absolutely no effect on US wages.

I Tried - not much more to say other than you are clueless with respect to what you are saying. The modern manufacturing process has nothing to do with the equation - in most respects - and you certainly have shed no light on how this solves any of the problems presented.

How does an improved manufacturing process decrease the amount of times a cow farts because you want to eat more meat ?

and that was not a joke question - although it is kind of funny.

Don't bother answering por favor... think Rodney Dangerfield "I Can't Take it Anymore" :) No Respect .. Cheers.

Yes, rich people contribute to the economy by investing. On the flip side, workers contribute to the economy by consuming. We need a balance between consumption and investment. We also need a balance between working class and the wealthy. A strong nation has a strong working class but also has a satisfied wealthy class as well. When we adjust our taxes, we need to take into account how well each group of people is doing.

I believe that both are equally valuable. We need wealthy investors and business owners to make leadership decisions and get things done. But the vast majority of people are workers, and they provide most business revenue and labor and we need to make sure that things are working for them too.

Workers can and will be found in the third world.
The investors can simply move their resources there.
    No problem for them!
