My point is that Trump assaulst the USPS as part of his campaign for the presidency.

    And, HE says so.

As for your polling place, are you sure it still even exists?

Another part of the GOP assault on democracy is that the have been rapidly getting rid of polling places.

The racist southern states have eliminated at least 1,200 polling sites in reaction to being freed of voting rights legislation that was created to require those states to treat minority Americans at least SLIGHTLY fairly - somewhat like the citizens that they are!!

Now that they are free of that, the GOP can unleash its fundamental racism on our democracy - and they are doing that with GUSTO.

That fits right in with allowing Russia to help GOP in that election - which is proven fact that has nothing at ALL to do with whether Trump actually was convicted of that.

This IS about the GOP assaulting our democracy. This is about the GOP using the power of government to DENY democracy.

And, yes. Voting IS a matter of life and death. We were founded on the principle of it being life or death. We had a WAR over that.

    This is NOT the issue.

Trump was withholding funds, and his stated reason for that was to affect election outcomes.

And, you "do a good job" thing is just plain STUPID.

    https://fortune.com/2020/08/14/usps...tal-service-2020-election-stamps-post-office/

He says he's doing it to affect his election.

To Trump, the USPS is part of his personal election campaign.

There is no funding problem they have the money to operate and will handle the volume they have plenty of excess and the ballots are only a less than a 2% increase and yes UPS and FedEX do a great job.

Why do you think the Dems have suddenly hyped up this VETERANS CAN'T GET THEIR MEDICINE charade, because they know the postal service can handle the ballots so they create this false story. Those items are handle by PARCEL post and one of the reasons they are removing unneeded DBCS machines is to make room for more parcel sort where there ARE getting an increase and need more capacity.

Your statemnt is NOT a representation of what TRUMP said he was doing.

And, wether Trump can be stopped in his criminal assault on democracy is NOT vindication.

The fact of the matter is that he has NOT been stopped in his assaults on our democracy - includding in his use of the federal government as an arm of his own election campaign.

Yes - veterans find it hard to get their medicine when Trump assaults our USPS.

There isn't any doubt about that. And, if the VA has to resort to special delivery options, that's MORE expensive, not less expensive.

    https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/lawmakers-postal-delay-mail-order-medicine-vets-72374343

Please remember that Trump stated why he was holding up funds for USPS - HIS CAMPAIGN FOR RELECTION.

If he wanted to reduce the costs of the usps, then there would be a discussion of how to do that.

    There isn't.

Maybe the Postal Service will arrest Rep. Cooper. They have Postal Police and Postal Inspectors who comprise a Federal police force.

If I could ask you a two questions

Are 3 million ballots (random state) more or less secure when administered directly in person with identification vs just sent out to all registered voters then returned via mail.

Would you expect the failure rate on the mail-in ballots to be higher or lower?

To be clear, this does not apply to absentee ballots, those are applied for.

My suggestion is a back yard session of yoga, or maybe just buy a hammock. Listen for birds chirping.

Scientology is starting to look normal compared to this. And that's pretty weird.

Absentee ballots and mail in ballots are identical in every way. Whether your apply for the ballots or not, you must be registered to receive one. It is my contention that the onus of 'proof of identity', as suggested by Colin Powell, should be done at the registration stage, not the voting stage ( polling places, voting by mail, etc ). Gov Kasich, and all dems, given that we have over 200 years of history of voting where no id was ever required, noting no proof of voter fraud to any degree of which would affect the outcome of a national election, that voter ID is not necessary. It has only become necessary during this last decade where republicans have seen their popularity decline, and reducing the vote improves their chances of winning, since suppressing the vote targets ( per their own design ) minorities, who tend to vote for democrats.

Since we have a history of absentee ballots going back to the civil war and beyond, there is no evidence of widespread ballot theft anywhere near a degree of which would affect the outcome of a national election.

The only reason the failure rate is higher, is due to people not signing ballots, not sealing envelopes, and this has always been true of absentee ballots, and probably will not change with mail in ballots. Thing is, far more people will be able to vote because of mail in than voting in person which will greatly offset and thus overcome this failure rate, particularly given the simple fact that, especially in red states, they have cut back voting places drastically because there few volunteers owning to the covid virus (from 3,700 polling locations in a typical election to 170 locations in Kentucky, alone), so voting by mail is an essential part of the democratic process now, done in order to save lives. Failure rates be damned, let people vote.

    Therefore your question is moot.

He has dismantled over 671 machines mostly in swing states, he has fired 23 regional delivery executives, and he has reversed the traditional policy of treating ballots like first class mail, when it is anticipated the volume, due to the massive mail in ballots, will drastically increase.

This is incompetence, and obvious forwarding of Trump's anti-postal agenda to help him win the election.

They aren’t identical in every way. With absentee ballots, you have to be registered, THEN you apply for one and jump through some hoops.

Mail in voting, you have to be registered..... and that’s it. No hoop jumping. No extra making sure. Nothing. It’s not exactly the same, never has been exactly, but could be one day, as long as make the procedures for mail in voting the same as absentee.

Too many lost ballots. Too many “found” ballots in trunks of cars for my taste. I have enough issues trusting government because overall they are not to be trusted. Tenacious-D has a great song about it....

    Warning, explicit lyrics:

Your number is PROJECTED to be removed and only 10% of inventory. Letter sortation machines have been being removed for decades and not by Dejoy. Volume is HALF what it was 20 years ago and dropping. If EVERYONE voted by mail starting in September when it starts it would only be a 1 1/2 to 2% increase for which they can handle. This is a farce perpitrated by the Democrats and you are swallowing it hook line and sinker. And if the state wants their ballots handled by first class mail then let them pay first class rates and in fact the voter should he paying it l don't get reimbursed for the gas I burn to go vote.

Democrat red herring they do not go through letter sortation machines they go through the parcel post system and DBCS machines which are no longer needed are being removed to make more room for parcel post sortation which IS increasing so you should he supporting this.

And your emotional appeal, for lack of a factual one, might be better if you used little old blind ladies.

    Says who?

Please explain why vets are complaining about prescription delays? Hmmmmm?

    https://connectingvets.radio.com/articles/usps-delays-veteran-prescriptions-va-working-on-solutions

Obviously, you are spinning a right wing narrative which is almost always false, and this one IS false.

No, it's tradition, out of a sense of patriotism by the post office to handle ballots as first class mail. this move is a ruse to help Trump win the election.

Why the post office warning about mail ballots not be processed in time?

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/loca...bf3c3c-dcc7-11ea-8051-d5f887d73381_story.html

    https://www.adn.com/nation-world/20...d-to-remove-hundreds-of-mail-sorting-machines

According to a grievance filed by the American Postal Workers Union and obtained by The Washington Post (see above link), the USPS was poised to decommission 671 of the massive machines, roughly 10% of its inventory, and capable of sorting 21.4 million pieces of paper mail per hour. The Postal Service, by comparison, processes as much as 500 million items each day.

Some postal workers worry that losing some of the machines could spell delays.
"Those machines have done more to create efficiency than any other machine in the past couple decades," said one letter carrier in Los Angeles, who asked not to be named out of fear of reprisal. "If the mail volumes have declined enough to justify [removals] then, fine, but you've also created less room for error if some of these machines break down."

"And these machines are old," the carrier said. "I have to imagine you're creating a pretty slim margin for error if you're removing machines, even if mail volumes have decreased."

The failure of republicans like Dejoy and Trump is that they are trying to run the government, and the post office, like it's a business, and you can't do that with public enterprises, the dynamics of public enterpises are the opposite of private enterprises. Only morons think like this.

I am not buying your bullshit.

I saw a large rectangular box on a street corner with a voter walking up and depositing a mail in ballot. With a major amount of the population doing this, it could make a difference over who may have gotten my ballot, along with hundreds or thousands of others, and filled them out. Too much population, and too many people not registered that are getting their names used to go vote if it ever became wide spread. Call me over reacting ??

Unions complaining about job loses........spare me. Are you denying mail volume has dropped by half over the last 20 years? And do you STILL not grasp that letter sortation and parcel sortation are two different matters and they are cutting back on unneeded letter sortation machines to make room for more parcel sortation? Why do you keep conflating the two?

This is a Democrat red herring what don't you get here. Why didn't the Democrats hold hearings before they passed this funding? Why didn't they do it a month ago, a year ago, five years ago?

If every voter did so by mail it would barely be a blip on mail volume. At most maybe a third of voters will.

The left is so fake. Trump already gave USPS 10 billion and they still have that cash on hand right now. But you wouldn't know it listening to the lefts continued fake claims.

When did it become a surprise to you that Trump refused to sign Palosi's bill for an additional 25 billion to USPS? When did it become a surprise to you that Trump is against nation wide mail in voting?

Then the leftist media makes this idiotic claim?
The president, who has falsely claimed that widespread mail-in voting will lead to fraud, suggested that without the funding it would be harder to vote by mail.

This is why nobody believes anything the left says anymore. I guess those 17,000 Democrat votes that showed up without a single Republican vote in Brevard county Fl never happened now. I guess those 250,000 harvested votes out of California during the midterms without a single Republican vote never happened now.

And who made Democrats the overnight expert on national Mail in voting?

Here is how fake the left is. You can shop in every major store in the US, you can protest by the millions for 3 solid months. You can riot every night by the millions. You can take over the city of Seattle. You can march in suburban areas, but voting in person is lethal?

EVERY Doctor (hundreds of them) who comes forward and shows you how none of their patients have died or been on a ventilator because they proscribed Hydroxy, are now all quacks? Then all these Democrat self prescribed experts try and convince everyone that Hydroxy is dangerous even though its been used since 1955 and not one person on the planet has ever died using it as prescribed.

Sorry, your leftist news and leftist Democrats have run out of credibility.
Trump is a Russian asset and we have the evidence to prove it
Kavanaugh is an alcoholic high school serial rapist
The Covington Catholic kids are racist bigots
Trump has started a war with Iran
All Trump loans are cosigned by Russian oligarchs
Trump said the virus is a hoax
Trump said there are very good people on both sides talking about KKK members
Adam Schiff's fake phone call claim right out of a Sopranos movie skit
Trump owes billions to Russia and he is compromised
Trump has a secret server that communicates with Russian banks

The left has become the laughing stock of the country. Your news is fake, your claims are fake, even your candidate for president is fake, your VP pick now claims she's black, not Indian, Fake, your 71 day impeachment scam was fake, and your claim to know ANYTHING about USPS is fake.

But feel free to keep those claims as to why Democrats loose the election. We can't wait.

You're purposeful misquote is not a valid form of argument.

And, yes, parcel post is used when the USPS FAILS due to Trump's assault on our mail system.

Can anyone cite where in the Constitution this Congresscritter is given the power to arrest anyone? Funny how when it was Obama's IRS that was 'mismanaged' there were no criminal complaints. I guess liberals already forgot that, or just went full hypocrite by default...

The issue is the capability of the USPS going forward under the assault by Trump. The evidence is present NOW as Trump holds up funds and STATES that the reason is that he wants mail in voting to fail.

Do you even bother to listen to what Trump has said about why he wants to cripple the USPS??

The GOP assault on in-person voting has been going on for a long time. Republican states now free of the voting rights act have been shutting down polling places by LARGE numerbers. They've been shutting down voter registration locations as well - and they are doing this in specific locations to make it harder for known Democratic constituencies to vote.

The idea that COVID policy is the only or the main GOP assault on polling places is just ignorance.

And, you have NOTHING to back up your last three paragraphs of random BS.
