Some don't pay their fair share of income taxes. Yep, the poor pay nothing or very little.

~ We are experiencing the results of 40 years of complacency, during which the Progressives/Communists were hard at work undermining our country. :frown:

Too bad it's going to cost us a couple of hundred thousand dead thanks to the orange clown.... We still don't have equipment for nurses and doctors etc etc etc. Equipment for schools investment means we have to tax the rich to do it. Which the scumbag GOP Masters will never do.... No sacrifice is too great to save the greedy idiot GOP rich from paying their fair share.... Only misinformation GOP propaganda makes this possible....

But here is really the only tax graph you need: It's total tax burden by income group. And as you'll see, every income group is paying something, and the rich aren't paying much more, as a percentage of their incomes, then the middle class.Sep 19, 2012

LOL period during which time the GOP has been in charge of federal tax rates. Reagan cut JFK's top rate from 70 to 50 and had great success. Then going out the door he cut it to 28%, and since then the country and its people have been going to hell period except the rich of course....

The more we spend on education the more ignorant graduates become. People are poor and lazy because we allow and even encourage them to be. Anyone can be successful without a free ride to Berkeley. There’s no point sending a bunch of people to college when nearly 20% of high school graduates are functionally illiterate. And another 15% don’t even graduate high school.

If you want better education get a voucher system in place and break up the monopoly in education. Right now we have the education system government wants. Spending more will just get us more of the same.

Bologna. We have been spending less and less on secondary education ever since Reagan, ditto federal aid to colleges and universities. Time to tax the rich and giant corporations end of story.... The GOP has been in charge of federal taxes since 1982 period with reconciliation they're ridiculous scam, they only need 51 votes in the Senate to contacts is on the rich, the only thing they care about. Same deal with cutting services for the rest of us....

Your statement is false. Here is an overview of the facts.
    upload_2020-9-3_18-31-7.png

The above does not include tax credits for higher education. Here is that information.

    upload_2020-9-3_18-34-57.jpeg

The above doesn’t include federal grants to institutions for research and development. The American Association for the Advancement of Science reports this.

    Facts are fun. :)

The price of college has been going up much faster than inflation ever since Reagan. All this gobbledygook about grants and loans has nothing to do with it..... Reagan ended basically free public universities in this country starting with California....

Care to take a stab at explaining why the price is going up “faster than inflation“? LOL

Facts adjusted for inflation is gobbledygook. You are a funny guy. :)

We're talking about the price of University college and training skyrocketing the last 30-40 years, no wonder grants and loans have gone up duh. A drop in the bucket.

Prices rise when there is too much money chasing a product. Basic economics. More government spending will push prices higher. You’ve torpedoed your original claim all by your lonesome self. I did supply the torpedoes with my graphs and quote from the AAAS, but you plotted their courses and made the shots. Better grab a life jacket ‘cause you’re going down fast! :)

LOL. Excess dollars chasing finite goods causes inflation. College prices are rising faster than prices for two hitch draft harness because the government isn’t handing out grants, loans, and cash to purchase draft harness.

Thanks for this week’s demonstration on why authoritarianism is so dangerous. Those wanting to violate private property rights the most are the least informed about economics. SMH!

Wealth is private property. Are you one of those false flag guys trying to make progressives look silly?
Costs too much for what? I was dirt poor and never even took out a Pell grant or loan for college. Your whole premise is nuts plus you don’t understand what causes inflation. You started out claiming funding of higher education decreased. I showed that to be completely false on every level.

Now you are off on a deflection about the GOP. I don’t know what that’s supposed to mean. Neither of us are GOP so it seems odd you’d bring that into the conversation. Also, are greedy mega rich independents and progressives paying their fair share? Is the fair share different based on political affiliation?

That was a long time ago before the GOP made colleges so expensive especially public ones. Your babbling about loans and Grant mean nothing...

To have a civilized country you have to have taxes and government programs. The GOP has been soaking the non-rich for 30 years. Time to tax the rich more like their fair share and invest in America and Americans again, misinformed one.

If you want to save the rich, you might as well be GOP.... If you count all taxes we have a flat tax system a GOP scam and not enough money to have a healthy economy by investing in our people and infrastructure again.

And of course the Democratic Rich want to raise taxes on the rich and thus themselves because they know to have a healthy economy you have to. After 40 years of GOP bologna, we have the worst inequality and upward mobility ever and anywhere in the modern world.
