Growing up, we were always taught that it was disrespectful (at the very least) to wear the American flag as clothing of any kind. Perhaps the customer who complained is from my generation and is sick of seeing the American flag used for bikinis and tshirts and, now, face masks. They do have the law on their side...
https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/...horizontally, but, always allowed to fall free.

As for how I feel about this issue - I couldn't care less, anymore, what people want to do with the flag. I've lost my 'passion' for an inanimate object being revered and treated better than many people in this country. I love my country, I follow its laws, but I'm too old to get my panties in a bunch about what someone does with the flag.

If we are all Americans, even the people with a hyphen before American, then how can an American flag be considered unprofessional? We're talking about the very citizenship of the people who live in this country and are proud of it. Heck, even the NFL allows the American flag on their helmets, although they're probably reconsidering that right now.

The American flag should not be considered offensive to anyone who claims to be an American who's patriotic and loves America.

AJ, I tried to PM you last week but you're not set up for it. Can you hit me up when you get a chance.

FYI, the term messaging is for any type of printed display.

Would you say, Americans are generally patriotic and thus, can be loosely characterized as being members of a patriotic organization? I thought someone posted in this thread that flag patch can be worn by members of a patriotic organization? :juggle:

In any way, what kind of person would freak out and complain to the store management, seeing an American flag? Think about it.

Hey look! if its a policy, then its a policy, but you know its a bunch of crap and you know this has to do with TDS anti-trump madness. is that really this person's biggest concern? that she was offended by someones face mask? quite sad and pathetic, but rules are rules. Imagine risking your life to defend a country and then deal with ungrateful little punks that are "offended" by a flag.

A piece of fabric that is printed to look like an American flag is not a flag. When read the statute I read it as you should not take a actual flag and cut it and sew it and wear it.

People come in all sorts and shapes, that's life. This is a company policy issue, so there is nothing much else to discuss other than brow beating, braying and bleating over it.

Liberals complain about a patriotic display of the flag, but cheer when people piss on it, burn it, or don't show respect for it by kneeling during the national anthem. Hmmmmmm......

Do people really have a problem with this. I see no issue if a company does not want they public facing employee's to wear a printed face mask. I wouldn't want to be a manager and play the game is this printed image offensive or not and make countless individual calls. Should I be able to wear my "Rick and Morty" face mask or my "Star Trek" face mask?

I absolutely love seeing progressives claim that this is fake news, just to see a few posts later multiple other progressives come out in open support of this measure, thereby completely destroying the arguments of the guys who claimed that this is fake news xD

Those gaiter masks shouldn't be allowed at all now that we know that they are hamful.

Not only is your statement false because it calls for the operation of the mind, your gotcha quote has zero to do with the topic. Even those who want more government doing their thinking for them can see the difference between a printed image and using pieces of a real flag.

Indeed. What is unfortunate is that business management usually takes the side of these losers.

Understandable, too. Nobody wants their storefront windows smashed, and be called fascists.

Should not the American flag be above all this, and be so grand as not to invite ANY objection?

I don't think so. Workplaces have dress codes. The American flag would be a printed symbol, just like a state flag, the rainbow flag, a Jewish star of David etc... He would be free to wear the American flag outside work but companies should be allowed to set the standards for the workplace. If their rule is no printed face mask so be it.
