Currently the rate of fatality for COVID is 2.97% of those who become infected. Let's say the number of fatalities from COVID is significantly less than that. Let's say the death rate is just 2%. Hence, if it would theoretically require 200 million people to become infected and sick to produce herd immunity, then at 2% that means 4 million people would die from it in the process! Are any of you willing to call for and accept that??

Next, think of the strain that would put on our medical facilities. We are approaching 200,000 deaths and the strain on medical personnel has been extreme. Now imagine 20 times that.

And finally, do you know how "herd immunity" works? How did it work in the case of the Bubonic Plague? What it did was kill most of those who became sick. It was those remaining few who recovered who developed herd immunity. The few whom it didn't kill developed immunity. But in the case of COVID, we don't yet know if recovery results in long-term immunity! With the flu, it doesn't. Yet some DOPE in the White House wants to push ahead with exposure, watch 4 million people die (he doesn't care because he is a sociopath, which means he lacks normal human compassion), AND HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW WHETHER RECOVERING FROM THIS VIRUS PRODUCES IMMUNITY!!!!!

How much more do you need to know that he is not just stupid, but DANGEROUS?

Trump likes it because Altas is saying, 'spread of the virus is good, we'll get to herd immunity quicker.' "Look ma, no mask" !! We don't have to wear masks, and this is why millions of Trump's base aren't wearing masks now. Trump likes it because his base likes it, and that's good for Trump votes. It's not about saving lives, it's about reelection, damn saving lives, who cares if a bunch of losers kick the bucket, they probably deserved it, anyway, right?

Well, infections are going up in those states. They are relaxing the mask mandate in many red states now. Let's call this what it really is, reckless genocide.

Problem, the journey to herd immunity would take, estimates are, 70% of the population, and millions will die if that is the case, and that could take a long long time.

It is a mindbogglingy stupid policy, nad Trump is apparently secretly going for it, despite advice to the contrary.

 

Do you have any idea how long it would take, and how many deaths would occur, if we let the virus go, unchecked, to reach herd immunity in a nation of 350,000?

Think about it, the number is in the millions and it would take a few years, and the rampant infections would KILL the economy far worse than anything we are experiencing now.

Bit here's the real clincher, we don't even know if antibodies protect someone against reinfection or a shot will prevent infection.

WE just don't know, so shooting for herd immunity is gambling with the lives of millions of Americans, and constitutes reckless genocide.

Scott Atlas is a dangerous man, and they should take away his medical license before he starts really killing people in some bigger numbers.

 

They will only have enough vaccinate a small population, only high priority types. For production of a vaccine for the rest of the population that's going to take at least a year, maybe two.

Also, it is not known whether or not the vaccine actually works. They've tested it, but only for antibodies. We simply do not aware of it's actual ability to protect humans, as I understand it.

Herd immunity is not the option of any human.
