Ahhhh, conspiwacy theowy, should have known.

"Although there are exceptions that are discussed shortly, Chapter 1 “Introduction to Criminal Law”, grading is often related to the criminal intent element. Crimes that have an “evil” intent are malum in se and subject the defendant to the most severe punishment. Crimes that lack the intent element are less common and are usually graded lower, as either misdemeanors or infractions.

The common-law criminal intents ranked in order of culpability are malice aforethought, specific intent, and general intent. Statutes and cases use different words to indicate the appropriate level of intent for the criminal offense, so what follows is a basic description of the intent definitions adopted by many jurisdictions."

Actually, your premise was that 'the intent makes the crime'. Now that I've shown that crime requires action, that more than that requires thought cops, you have decided I have descended into conspiracy theory.

While intent, if it can be shown, can and should be an exacerbating or mitigating circumstance, ntent alone is not a crime.

    QED, your premise is false.

the N word is hateeful, disgusting word, meant to declare that black people are inferior and less than human. anyone who uses such a word as an attack against another individual or blacks at large, are scum and deserve to be harrassed, scolded and shamed. if they have a business they should be boycotted till they made sincere amends. the use of the word at work should be grounds for dismissal. Freedom of Speech has limits.

The FBI enforces the law, it does not decide what is criminal. That is left to the courts.

How is it different from other ethnic slurs: "s**c", "g**k", "r*****d", or "cracker", e.g.?

Should businesses be entitled to refuse service to any person due to their ethnicity?

Not getting along with one's peers is cause to get written up already. Using such language on a customer will also get one in trouble.

The first amendment was made to protect unpopular speech; popular speech needs no protection.

It's all context and what the subject wishes to be called. If I called you a dumb cracker you might take offence, but if a dumb cracker called you that as a brother you might get a warm fuzzy feeling. Blacks saying "my knigga" are bros, but if I said "good day knigger" I wouldn't have one because its meaning is totally different.

That's kinda a given. You can say any word, even make up one. But why would you use a word that says I'm a racist and I don't care who I offend? WWJD

Is that what it says? Does it mean I'm racist if I say a word? Or am I just designated a racist because I said it. I hear it it music and in comedy shows, even political discussions all the time. Nobody is calling those people who speak it racists. You know why, because they are black. So isn't racist to say that anyone who says that word who is not black is a racist? And doesn't it fly in the face of free speech? Personally, and this is no lie, I am 3% black. Do I get to say the n-word or do I have to be, I dunno, like at least 25% black? What if I'm black but I look white? I met a man who's both parents were black but he looked as white as anyone, and he wasn’t an albino. Who gets to make the rules?

Here's my point, if black people say it freely and that is okay, then unless you are a racist, anyone should be able to use that word.

The assumption is, if you are white and you you use it, and there is great precedence for this, you are a racist. This is 2020 not 1950.
Are you saying words should have no effect on what people think? Could that be any more absurd? See what I mean cracker?

Have you ever heard the phrase that it takes one to know one? I've worked in companies where blacks outnumbered whites by substantial margins. When one black calls another one the banned on this site word, more often it played on racial stereotypes. What does that tell you?

Presupposing that you're right (and you are not), since other races are allowed the luxury of being racist, what do you do in your personal life to avoid supporting non-white racists? OR, in the alternative, do you even worry about non-white racists... or worse, do you fail to acknowledge that such exists?

Cracker doesn’t bother me, I have thick skin and I don’t care what color you are. A person who’s offended by a word used billions of times a Day is just looking for an excuse to be offended. By the way, I’m part Italian and you can hurl Italian slurs at me all day and I can assure you I won’t run to a safe space and cry.

Why are blacks so weak minded that a word emotionally melts them depending on who says it?

Since you believe other races have the luxury of being racist then you should have the luxury of openly exhibiting your racism? No, it's all bad and destructive. Keep it in and don't pollute the social environment.
    reread post #57
Some words are emotionally hurtful and you don't seem to get it. Why don't you call women c*nts? It's just a word. Are they weak minded and will emotionally melt?

Do you care when you insult people or hut them emotionally if it promotes your political agenda? If so, maybe you could enlighten me why you keep doing it. If not, this has been a rather short conversation.

So we should hide our racism if that's how we really feel? Seems counterintuitive to me.

I get that some words are hurtful. I simply don't get what the power of this one word is. There are others with the same connotation - If asked I will provide a short list - that are not covered by the ban on the n-word ban. Racial pejoratives are vulgar and should not be used in ordinary speech, but sometimes vulgarity is the best (or only) way to express one's feelings.

"Other races have the luxury of exhibiting their racism" You sounded envious of other races enjoying that "luxury" but then you act all butt-hurt. This from a guy who thinks this should be a white nation and POCs don't deserve citizenship.

What's counterintuitive? It's called acting civil. People do it all the time.

You don't get it? You must not be black. When do you use the word knigger then? When is knigger appropriate? Express your feelings.

I posted that I understand that some words are hurtful. I teach my children not to say s**t, f**k, n****r, et al. because they are vulgar. N****r is appropriate when describing
a particular type of person (one who fits the stereotype), just as trailer trash describes another type of person who fits another set of stereotypes.

We've been over this how many times and you STILL choose to be dishonest? Not having the luxury of being held to same standard says nothing about my personal preferences. I accept the facts for what they are. I'm not a butt hurt about a damn thing because I live my life regardless of how many unconstitutional laws the government passes. If a law infringes on my personal Liberties, it gets legally ignored.

Now, let's address that lie you continue to tell about what I think personally. YOU are the one that claims that I think non-whites don't "deserve" citizenship. How many times do I have to tell you that it isn't my call? How many times do I have to tell you that citizenship is a privilege? How many times do we have to travel down that path from colonial charters through to the Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation and the Constitution of the United States? You're being dishonest about what I said and you are knowingly, willingly, and with malice LYING to every poster here in the vain attempt of making your own morally bankrupt position look good.

If racism is wrong, then it's wrong. The problem is, from what you have articulated, racism is acceptable provided it's not white racism. When challenged, you try to play the race card and imply that people are white supremacists as you did above. What you're doing isn't right. It isn't honest and it isn't accurate.

When you are calling some black person a knigger who are you talking to? Your children? Or maybe someone who finds that word acceptable or could it be more likely someone who thinks you or anyone finding that word acceptable are a gross racists.
Oh, could you elaborate on the "knigger" stereotype?

You believe that the US should be a white nation and POC should not have been given citizenship, yet you take no responsibility for that belief. I get it, I wouldn't either.

Just because I condemn white racists doesn't mean I don't condemn racists of any color but they seem to be in short supply on this site.

Who in the HELL do you think you are? Are you Dr. Phil from tv fame? Are you Max Maven? Who are you to presume what I think? Who are you to misrepresent me at every opportunity? Have you no ethical standards? Here is a reality check for you: I am fully capable of speaking for myself and I know what I believe - and you do not represent what I believe in. Neither are you a representative for my personal opinions.

You claim you condemn racism, but talking the talk is not walking the walk. As has been pointed out to you time and time and time again, Japan, China, North Korea, and South Korea are all over 98 percent homogeneous. China STILL practices slavery. And, despite all your hate filled posts about white racists, you still spend your money on junk MADE IN CHINA, JAPAN, AND KOREA.
