The Dems tried to compromise by going down to $ 2 trillion. What was the response of the GOP? Instead of also compromising, they went the other way and stripped their meager plan even further.

That's the anti American way of today's GOP. Never compromise. Accuse people who have lost their jobs through no fault for their own of being lazy moochers who don't want to go back to work because their stimulus check is too cushy... Some patriots.

Democrats always pretend to care about us but the reality is we are just tools for them to use as necessary to gain power. They don't want us happy and prosperous with a check in the bank right before the election. They would rather people were suffering and broke and are only too happy to throw Americans under the bus if it may help democrats gain power.

After Nancy P passed her 3 trillion dollar Andy Cuomo bailout bill...that did little for the average working class American, she bailed....she and the Dembots flew home to live in theri mansions eating ice cream and collecting their paycheck.

She has continued to refuse to compromise....finally some of the herd has spoken out against her...she is losing some in her ranks...which is a good thing. We need more folks to leave the hive and start working for Americans.

You said meager 2 trillion. ha ha ha sorry if I cant take you seriously. FYI they didnt take out the most onerous parts of their bill, so it was still a non starter. It was clearly never a serious effort on their part. They just saw it as another way to exploit a bad situation for their own personal benefit.

Democrats are holding out for payments to broke blue state governments and other long held democrat wish list spending and holding the American people hostage. Basically if they dont get their wish list us citizens don't get extended unemployment and a stimulus check.

No they're not. Not with democrats, I should say. The Hastert Rule prevents them from doing that.

The stimulus bill passed by Democrats would very likely pass in the Senate. But McConnell refuses to bring it up for vote. That's the Hastert Rule. It only applies to Republicans, but they follow it faithfully.

No it doesn't...that only applies to the House...the Dems have the majority there, they can negiate with the Senate....but Nancy has refused to do so...despite numerous attempts by the Senate and the WH.

Nancy is holding the American people hostage. Nancy won't even vote on what everyone agrees on....it's sad.

They aren't. The stoppage comes from Mitch McConnell, as usual. Pelosi and Schumer offered to meet the GOP halway between their initial bill, passed back in May, for a $3 trillion relief package, and after sitting on it for months, McConnell countered with a $1 trillion package that did nothing for small businesses and next yo nothing for the unemployed and the soon-to-be homeless.

The holdup isn't coming from the Democrats. They, at least, are offering to compromise. Direct your vitriol in the right direction, pun intended.

You have it backwards. The Repubs don't want a relief bill because it will benefit Biden.

it also tried to take away liability from businesses for forcing workers to work in unsafe conditions, remove that and dems will agree to pass it

republicans put a poison pill in it, it will easily pass if that is removed

why don't republicans want this to pass?

With meager, I meant the $500 billion GOP proposal. remember the timeline: The Dems passed a $3 trillion House bill. The House GOP countered with $1 trillion. The Dems tried to compromise at $2 trillion. What did the GOP do? No compromise, they went down to $500 billion.

    https://www.9news.com/article/news/...ecks/507-986d980d-aae4-4a8c-ae11-9fc57b3911b6

This is all the GOP's doing.

Note, I support the Problem Solvers' Caucus bipartisan bill. I wonder why the GOP doesn't like it. Oh, I know why, they want to punish blue states, because they don't vote for Trump.

Do you even know what the Hastert rule is? Obviously not.

No. It doesn't apply to the House. The Hastert Rule only applies to Republicans. And Republicans don't control the House.

There was nothing in the bill about forcing people to work...the GOP ended slavery and forced labor after the Civil War. Try again.

Small businesses need that protection from frivolous lawsuits from people claiming they got sick at their establishments

Dems don't want to protect the small businesses...they want to make sure their big rich Tort lawyers donors can keep the cash flowing .....

Yes...it's used by Speakers in the House...the majority of the majorty....it has nothing to do with the House working with the Senate.

Both parties have used it in the House....it doesn't apply to the Senate at all

"The Hastert Rule, also known as the "majority of the majority" rule, is an informal governing principle used in the United States by Republican and Democratic Speakers of the House of Representatives since the mid-1990s to maintain their speakerships[1] and limit the power of the minority party to bring bills up for a vote on the floor of the House.[2] "

GOP is opposed to the democrat rebuilding their states and cities,, that the democrats willfully destroyed, with federal money.. the GOP wants to money to go directly to the people, the DEMs are not pleased with being bypassed and thus losing the oppurtunity to loot the fund.. The dems, and socialist in general love big goverment because it gives them many oppurtunities to steal. Read Peter Schweitzer's book "profiles in Corruptoin" .. it has a chapter on Kamala! too.

I agree it's all the GOP...the GOP is doing something, trying to get something to the people...but the Dems even refuse to vote on stuff both parties agree on...that's why you are seeing some Dems leave the hive at this point....they are finally putting the people over their party.....good for them...

How will a relief bill signed by Trump help Biden?

The dems in the House passed on 3 trillion dollar bill packed with pork totally unrelated to the Chinese Virus, then went on recess and refused to compromise with the Senate and WH....and continue to block even legislation that both agree on.
