I suspect Trump will nominate a replacement but not push the nomination until after the election. I expect the left to pretend the good lady actually ruled IAW the law and Constitution while we all know better.

I already see them fawning and gushing over the old lady in another forum, as if she had been Mother Teressa or something.

We saw how the Left media was willing to raise John McCain (Republican) on a pedestal, all because he had severely criticized Trump, right before he died.

Hopefully this will force Biden to release a list of his nominees as Trump has done.

I can't see Trump nominating anyone before the election. If he loses all bets are off. And I mean it.

Im not so sure that would be a political winner for the right in the long term....you think people arent going to see the absolutely STUNNING sheer hypocrisy before the election if they somehow managed to get someone appointed just in time for election day or if Trump loses pushing that through in a lame duck session which i can totally see, because GOP

I would say very high chance someone is nominated but is pushed through after the election regardless if Trump wins or loses

So heres the thing, Justice are usually there the rest of their lives. If they can get a conservative there before the election, that will ensure a balance for the next what 15 years or so. Expect for, Sotomayor, they're all in good health as far as the public knows.

Sadly(?) I think Trump will appoint the next judge in short order. And Republicans will look like total hypocrites after they stalled Obama from appointing a judge during election season. Saying it was inappropriate to appoint a judge and that we should wait for the next president so they can decide.

To be fair I hope that they do wait to appoint a new judge until after the election and inauguration (if Biden wins the election). However I also know that life isn't fair so if they do try and push a judge in before then it won't surprise me and I won't argue against it, because life isn't fair.

McConnell already set the standard. Can't wait to see his weaseley mental gymnastics to spin away any attempt to fill the seat.

What they did when Scalia died and Mitch the Bitches refusal to allow a Democrat president to appoint a replacement in an election year. I think you will find Mitch is a hypocrite now, racing break neck speed to try to confirm a replacement.

And so, of course, the faux-political us-vs-them squabbling begins.

A loss to the nation, no matter who ends up replacing her and when.

I hope Turtleman rams one through. After what the Democrats did to Judge Bork and then refusing two brilliant even handed jurists (Miguel Estrada and Peter Keisler) hearings (where they would have won a majority vote since the GOP held the senate) everything is fair now. Dems pulled a knife in a boxing match and they are whining that McConnell produced a shotgun.

The Catholic Lady judge who taught at Notre Dame looks like a good choice.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amy_Coney_Barrett

Not a Harvard, Yale, Stanford or Columbia JD-she was valedictorian at Notre Dame which IMHO, is pretty damn good.

After all the crap libs did in the last several years, I’d forgive Mitch for running through a conservative SC justice.
