The entirety of their position is based upon a study from the economic policy institute:

The EPI describes itself as a non-partisan think tank that "seeks to include the needs of low- and middle-income workers in economic policy discussions". It is affiliated with the labor movement and is usually described as presenting a left-leaning and pro-union viewpoint on public policy issues.

While it asserts that it is nonpartisan for tax reasons, Economic Policy Institute has close ties to current and former Democratic Party officeholders. Its founders include two Democratic Secretaries of Labor, Ray Marshall and Robert Reich, who continue to sit on EPI’s board. A third, Alexis Herman, also sits on EPI’s board. Minnesota Attorney General and former U.S. Representative Keith Ellison, a firm ally of organized labor, was also an EPI board member as of 2014.[4] Democratic National Committee chair and Obama administration Secretary of Labor Tom Perez has also been added to the EPI board.

No idea what you're talking about. I thought that we were talking about government income support, not unemployment insurance.

They have been ASKING for compromise on the Heroes Act for MONTHS

Mitch McConnell's idea of compromise is to REDUCE his offer

Compromise means that each party gives up something they want in exchange for a middle ground.

What have the democrats offered to give up?

    Try to keep up.

Dems offered to lower the Heroes Act from 3 trillion to 2 trillion

McConnell refused to even discuss it and then weeks later DROPPED his offer of one trillion to half that

    THAT is how Republicans "compromise"

haha nancy p has done no such thing! she flew the coup to San Fran to get her hair done and eat ice cream.

when some in her party realized she was harming americans they crossed the line and came up with a bipartisan 1.5 trillion relief package she frankly rejected and wouldn’t allow a vote on

Nonsense. The dems just put up another relief package that addresses the omissions in the repub package. Now let's see if the cons want to help the regular guy or just ladle more money to their cronies.

The difference being everything cited in their critique is factual. Whereas the economic policy institute is engaging in subjective claims based upon their liberal ideology.

Lols yeah if you ignore the fact that what the democrats were cutting from their bill with the $1 TRILLION were the portions of the bill the republicans actually AGREED with. Hence why the republicans came back with a smaller bill because they cut the things the democrats agreed with.

    That is NOT compromise

    From the Dems bill:
    • $25 billion to the United States Postal Service, with spending prioritization placed on the cleaning and sanitization of facilities and purchase of protective equipment for workers.
    • $1.5 billion for the “Emergency Connectivity Fund,” which supports, “Wi-fi hotspots, other equipment, connected devices, and advanced telecommunications and information services to schools and libraries.”
    • $300 million for Community Oriented Policing Services.
    • $10 million each for the National Endowment for the Humanities and National Endowment for the Arts.
Liberal pork. Which is ALL their bill is designed to do. Support liberal objectives

Prove to me those items are included in the current relief bill and not the one that already passed.

Wait what? That makes zero sense. The GOP agreed with one trillion of the original offer and cut THAT in half?

Why do you bother to post?

It is frighteningly Orwellian to see Trumpleton's accuse Dems of blocking a relief bill even as they propose one.

These stimulus bills are always all about enriching the corrupt bipartisan ruling class.
The RP should propose sending Big Green Checks to the owners of businesses who have been damaged by the lockdown and for their idled employees. Show them the money and let the DP vote to withhold it.

Money to the people - not to government entities.

    Stipulations[edit]
The Heroes Act includes about $1.13 trillion of emergency supplemental appropriations to federal agencies, as well as economic assistance to governments at the state, local, tribal, and territorial levels. There would be about $485 billion in safety net spending, including the expansion of unemployment benefits, increased Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, increased funding utilities payments and job training for low-income individuals, and a 25% increase in aid to disabled veterans. There would be about $435 billion for additional rebates, which would include an additional $1200 stimulus check per individual. There would be about $382 billion for health care, which would include reimbursing health care providers for lost revenue, covering the COBRA premium costs for employees laid off between March 2020 and January 2021, increasing funding for testing and contact tracing, eliminating cost-sharing for coronavirus treatment, and increasing funding for health agencies and centers. Employers would also need to implement infectious disease control panels. There would be about $290 billion to support small businesses and employee retention, with modifications to the Paycheck Protection Program. This would expand employee retention credit, provide credits for employer expenses, extend and expand paid leave (such as paid sick days, family and medical leave), and provide a 90% income credit for self-employed individuals. There would be about $290 billion to reduce income taxes and $191 billion for student loan relief and funding for higher education. There would be about $202 billion for housing-related costs and expenses, including the establishment of a emergency rental assistance fund and a homeowner's assistance fund. Some eviction and foreclosure moratoriums would be expanded as well, being extended for up to another year and expanding the moratorium to cover all renters and homeowners rather than specific cases as previously done in the CARES Act. There would be about $190 billion for hazard pay for essential workers. In addition, there would be $32 billion for communication systems (such as the U.S. Postal Service), $48 billion for pensions and retirement relief, $31 billion for agricultural spending, and $254 billion for a limited business loss deductions.[3][4][5]

The republicans proposed one as well. Yet you accuse them of Obstruction lol

Nevertheless the democrats came in with an OUTRAGEOUS bill with a >$3T price tag. It was nothing more than a tactic. You ask for FAR more than is reasonable so then when you come down from your starting offer, you still get everything you actually want. That’s not compromise. That’s grade school level negotiation tactics.

Which is why I consider Trump helping to get the April relief package through Congress literally right after his impeachment a godd*mned miracle.

There was no choice. The economy was going to crate FAST (most notably the Stock Market)

And now there are tens of millions of Americans facing severe financial hardship but because we rescued the Market...there is no rush to do anything...at least on the Republican side

not sure what you are talking about? The GOP has attempted repeatedly to get relief and the Dems keep blocking it.

Thankfully the President got around the obstuctionist Dems, and issued a EO giving some aid.....certainly more is needed....but what can you do when Nancy P is holding Americans hostage?
