But I’ll bet he has personal taxable income. Otherwise, how would he pay for groceries?

I pay as little as required, but it’s far more than 750 bucks

Are you still beating that dead horse? Hunter Biden did not receive $3.5 million from the Russians. That’s a debunked lie.

Trump doesn't want to make his tax returns public because the IRS is claiming an $80 million overpayment in a fraudulent refund he reported.

Have you at least read the NYT article?

How much do you pay in property tax? How much do you own that depreciates? Did you have any losses for the year? I'm trying to get you to think, Mello. It is not that simple. Why don't you return to chasing "Russian Collusion" or hiring some "Russian Spies" to undermine THIS campaign. Leave tax law up to the big boys.

In the 'non-fiction' political book business, it helps to have a klatsch of very wealthy friends who will each buy hundreds of thousands of copies of your book and donate them anonymously, on the sly.

Hey, you could stack 'em up, slather them with a coat of adobe, slap on a thatched roof, and make "housing for the homeless"!

[IMG] Prime dwelling for a yard-sign that reads "Biden/Harris in 2020"!

Stock sales is one possibility. Sell some at a loss; sell some at a profit. Have zero capital gains.

I don't read the NY rag. Trump doesn't want to make his tax returns public because simpletons that always do the short form, do not understand such things. Since many of them have had a hate on for him being wealthy and American, will lie about things they don't understand. Believe me, I don't understand it. The IRS is the accountability. It's up to them. AND we know the IRS has shown contempt for Conservatives in the past. Maybe they got "out lawyered" this time.

I would like to see things greatly simplified. Taxes should be done on a post card. That is not the way it is now. Good business men take advantage of everything available. You, on the other hand, can give as much to the government as you'd like. There is provision for that. (I prefer charities.)

Yeah, that would have worked 2008/2009 or early 2018, but not any other periods inbetween when stocks were soaring. Unless he is a terrible stock picker.

Why would Vance have anything to do with an investigation into Hunter Biden? Do you know what his job is? I've long said of the Clinton Foundation that, if there's evidence of something, let me know. I'd be very interested to see it. But, let's face it, you are only trying to change the subject to that because the courts revealed the Trump Foundation to be a scam. As for Biden, Vance would not have anything to do with that, but if there's evidence of wrongdoing, then yes, it should be investigated. Now that you are done evading . . .

But if someone has no net income, how are they going to pay for their personal life? Groceries are not tax deductible.

It would be enlightening to see how trump does it. He has obviously made a calculation that it would hurt him politically. That means there is something in there that would turn voters away. All the more reason for the country to know.

And if our stinking, never-to-be-sufficiently-cursed U. S. TAX CODE allows Trump or any other 'fat-cat' to get away with not paying a 'fair share' of taxes, whose fault is that?!

But, if it's LEGAL, then who among us is going to pay one penny more in taxes than we absolutely MUST?! You?!

Would you like to be taxed more heavily than you are right now? If you work for a living, then be sure to vote for ol' Joe Biden! You'll surely get to pay a LOT more in taxes once these wanna-be socialists are running things.... :roflol:

Because I have read the Senate report.

Not a news article with a sensational headline, or the false “summary” in the report itself, but the actual detail.

People who work actually have to pay taxes. If you think guys with private jets shouldn’t pay more, but a teacher or a plumber should pay more, then vote for trump

He always claimed that it was because he was being audited and that once it was completed, he would make his tax returns public.

But it's another lie that you're going to defend, obviously.

Do you know how stock trades work? You don't need an income if you have significant stock holdings. You sell winners and losers at zero profit for cash flow.

Also, if you have a $1 million (or $10 or $20 million or $100 million) cash in a bank account which you paid taxes on in previous years, you can afford lots of groceries with zero income.

As I understand it, the NYT story is about income taxes.
