Well the, "erotic pursuit," I had in mind that Jesus did talk about was adultery, of which he famously said that one need only THINK about it & that person has already, in effect, committed the offense. Honestly, it seems a little bit unfair to me, if you don't mind my saying. After all, Jesus never said anything about GETTING CREDIT for just CONSIDERING doing a good deed, even if you don't bother to follow through on it.

Though I wonder if Jesus, actually, could have been trying to introduce the concept of the power of our thoughts to create our reality. But probably not.

If those " tenants of faith" lead to the harassment, physical abuse, murder or suicide of LGBTQ people I can damn well discount them.

Indeed, there's a problem; bigotry wrapped in the Bible is still bigotry.

    Nobody is defending pedophilia.

But, let's remember that there is NO POSSIBLE WAY to suggest that pedophilia is a justification for political and social actions taken against the homosexual community.

Yes. They just had some 'mental health professionals', homosexuals themselves, invent some fake 'science' to hand wave it all away, which is a modus operandi favored by Soviet style govts. to hide their dysfunctional version of 'rationalism' behind.

lol unsubstantiated by who? You? It's all easily verifiable, especially re Hays and NAMBLA's history with the ILGA and Clinton's rejection of the ILGA's NGO status because of NAMBLA's membership.

Here is a nice love piece from David Thorstad, former President of New York’s Gay Activists Alliance, on good ole Harry and what a great guy he was.

    https://nambla.org/hayonmanboylove.html

"Harry, founder in 1950 of the first American gay group to survive, the Mattachine Society, cofounder of the Gay Liberation Front, Southern California chapter, in 1969, cofounder of the Radical Faeries in 1979, father of the U.S. gay movement, and grandfatherly icon of gay liberation, died on October 24, 2002, at the age of ninety. Harry was a vocal and courageous supporter of NAMBLA and intergenerational sexual relationships, though since his death many of the assimilationists in the gay and lesbian movement, including its most prominent organizations, have already sought to erase that part of his radicalism (not to mention his Communist roots and vocal critiques of their own accommodationist approach to the powers that be). In order to bring truth to the record, I have transcribed these comments."

Excerpt from the 'Spirit Of Stonewall' declaration:

    https://americansfortruth.com/2009/...pioneer-harry-hay-defended-nambla-to-the-end/

"The Spirit of Stonewall (SOS) declaration read in part:

Stonewall was the spontaneous action of marginal people oppressed by the mainstream — of teenaged drag queens, pederasts, transsexuals, hustlers, and others despised by respectable straights and “discreet” homosexuals. …

SOS is an ad hoc committee of lesbian, gay and other individuals and groups formed to bring Stonewall 25 [celebrating the 25th anniversary of the riots] back to the principles of gay liberation. We focus on one of the most glaring departures from those principles: the attempt to exclude [NAMBLA] . …

NAMBLA’s record as a responsible gay organization is well known. NAMBLA was spawned by the gay community and has been in every major gay and lesbian march. … NAMBLA’s call for the abolition of age of consent is not the issue. NAMBLA is a bona fide participant in the gay and lesbian movement. NAMBLA deserves strong support in its rights of free speech and association and its members’ protection from discrimination and bashing."

Here is The Progressive gushing over good ole Harry as well, only they seem to deliberately leave out any mention of good ole Harry's fondness for kiddie rapers.

    https://progressive.org/magazine/meet-pioneer-gay-rights-harry-hay/

"Harry Hay is the founder of gay liberation. This lovely interview with Hay by Anne-Marie Cusac was published in the September 1998 issue of The Progressive magazine. Then-editor Matt Rothschild called Hay "a hero of ours," writing that he should be a household name. He wrote: "This courageous and visionary man launched the modern gay-rights movement even in the teeth of McCarthyism." In 1950 Hay started the first modern gay-rights organization, the underground Mattachine Society, which took its name from a dance performed by masked, unmarried peasant men in Renaissance France, often to protest oppressive landlords. According to Hay's 1996 book, Radically Gay, the performances of these fraternities satirized religious and political power.

They've never met a commie they didn't like, nor apparently a pedophile, either, at 'The Progressive'.

The Peanut Gallery can safely ignore any one who denies anything so easily verifiable as 'bovine excrement' as someone who can be taken seriously, as they can with anybody who is dumb enough to claim homosexual fetishists don't have a more than normal pedophile problem.

Rubbish. They lead in spreading several diseases, and they need to be screened and kept away from children; they're a public health menace and a menace to children.

Pedophiles are a risk to children.

Homosexuals are not any more threat to children than are heterosexuals.

One of the reasons this is absolutely absurd is that you can't pick someone out of history and claim that they represent all homosexuals any more than you can pick someone out of history and claim they represent all heterosexals.

Heterosexuals don't come in one color, one religion, one political view, etc. And, neither do homosexuals.

You need to be careful with these claims of "gay movement", etc. It is CRYSTAL clear that homosexuals experienced severe discrimination and ostricism, so it's only logical that there would be those working to reduce that serious problem.

But, that is NOT an indication that the LGBTQ community holds one view or objective in other areas of society, politics, etc. They are ALL humans, just as varied as all humanity.

If you want to discuss serious problems with NAMBLA, good. But, suggesting that NAMBLA represents those who are LGBTQ is just plain false.

    what would Jesus do?

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke 7:36-50

Jesus Anointed by a Sinful Woman

36 When one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table. 37 A woman in that town who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, so she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. 38 As she stood behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears. Then she wiped them with her hair, kissed them and poured perfume on them.

39 When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is—that she is a sinner.”

40 Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.”

Christians really need to read their bible more...... ironically he also mention being upset because Simon not giving him a kiss...

Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. 45 You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. 46 You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. 47 Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.”

moral of the story... don't be a simple Simon.... IE the Homophobes

Marriage has lots of exceptions, especially when it comes to passion, but the bible says it's best for no one to marry

in support of same sex marriage

    http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1 Corinthians 7:8-9&version=NIV

    "
8 Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am.
9 But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

so Jesus says "for it is better to marry than to burn with passion."
and some Christians disagree with Jesus?

Sad that all you have are BOVINE EXCREMENT sources that have ZERO credibility!

Even sadder is that you actually BELIEVE those bovine excrement sources!

And saddest of all is that you have NEVER bothered to apply critical thinking and fact checking to your bovine excrement sources.

Corinthians was written by Saul/Paul so it is NOT one of the teachings of Jesus himself. Saul/Paul was a called the "man of the lie" by Jesus's brother James. Saul/Paul was a Roman agent with a mission to destroy Judaism and it was blasphemy punishable by death for any Jew, like Jesus, to call themselves the "son of god". Saul/Paul essentially was setting up a competing religion to Judaism and using Jesus as the "son of god" to give it "legitimacy". What is today called Christianity is actually Paulism instead.

Yep, Paul the self proclaimed apostle that most of the NT he wrote!

Real sketchy character and most Christian theology comes from Paul.

Yet the bible is clear on sexual perversions . If you can't give up your sick perversions for goodness and righteousness then don't. But don't expect to not be judged for your sin. Weak asses.

What is natural is clear. Male and female procreate and sustain new life..That is natural . If life ended because of queers and lesbians. From humans to dogs and cats, that would be unnatural.

Assuming that you are correct then Jesus must have been a pervert because Judaism extols sexual virtue and the pleasures it affords.

In no way do Paul's teachings contradict Jesus.

    Cite?

Huh? So why was he arrested, imprisoned, and beaten by the Romans?

Okaaay, what exactly did Paul get out of that? Who gained?

Yup, the decision to delist homosexuality as a disorder was purely political, at least according to a former head of the APA. He said in his practice same sex feelings were about as treatable as any other disorder. If someone wants to try to change their same sex feelings, it isn't anybody else's business.

You have to do more than just make that kind of blanket claim if you want to be considered.

If that is sincerely your fear, let me reassure you that humanity is in no threat whatsoever from extinction due to a lack of reproductivity attributable to homosexual activity. Nor is there a shortage of dogs or cats; to the contrary: there are more cats & dogs than there are homes for them! And the world is, if anything, overpopulated! So, no doubt inadvertently, you have just offered a new, but very sound, argument to support the value to human society of homosexual relationships! Perhaps, if there were more couples who, instead of adding to population growth, were adopting children who have no parent to care for them, we'd make a real dent in the number of orphans. Well done, One Mind!
