I've found Republicans ( listening to Trump ) disregard the Virus as being serious.

They don't social distance or wear masks.

Florida, Georgia and Texas are prime examples of Republican states with the Virus out of control posting an average of 100 + deaths daily

If From the top of Federal and State Government ( President and Governors ) were united in messaging the Virus was serious

America wouldn't be the most affected country in the world.

The Virus would be a thing of the Past

4 % of the worlds population and 25 % of the Cases

The timeline is so fishy. His doctor said he was on day 3 of treatment. If he only got the first dose last night, he hasn't even taken his second dose, yet. How can we be on day 3?

Friday night, he began a five-day course of remdesivir,

    Trump - "I don't need a mask ...".

Virus - "Hold my beer ...".

Vaccinologists in research institutes have been quietly beavering away for years, developing base vaccines for (as yet unspecified) viruses, in readiness for (among other things) pandemics. So, they already had the technology and vaccine frameworks in place, with animal testing already completed, etc. etc. - the idea being, to be able to get one out fast, if needed, with just some modification and of course human clinical trials, rather than having to start from scratch. For what should be obvious reasons. For instance, vaccinologists at Oxford University had a base vaccine ready, intended for coronaviruses called "Disease X", now designated specifically to Covid-19, while an Israeli institute is modifying its vaccine for coronavirus in chickens, and so on.

The 25th Amendment doesn't mention the need for it. I haven't found anything that says they would need to take a separate oath. If you find such a thing, please post it.

Does anyone know what the experimental drug is? If it works and is widely available (since it boosts antibodies). It might be a possible preventer or at least lower the odds of infection

You need to read up on mRNA vaccines and how they work.
Developing a vaccine, if you have enough money, is not such a big deal. This time those companies have gigantic amounts of money, so much that one can simply say cost does not matter. Its like the Moon Project, or Manhattan.
Curevac and bioNtech were well financed companies before the virus. Were they had 5 millions for one of their vaccine projects, they have now 100 of millions. They can now run several vaccine recipes side by side. Were it took them maybe a year to get the financing for Phase 1 and 2, they have it right now including Phase 3. Some of those Phases were run parallel, or could be started, before the other was finishing.
The developing of vaccines is today a money question, which includes the bean counter and many very interesting projects fell through because of the bean counters, were canceled or took years till they were finished.
SARS mutated till it went away and all vaccine projects were instantly canceled. No money to made of.
When Ebola hit Africa and there was a thread of a pandemic, vaccines were developed in record time and the development continues, because Ebola ain't going away.
What people have to understand, the first available vaccines, probably have not a super high effiancy. They might just cover 50%, or 75 %.
Might take 2 or 3 development steps to get to 90%.
But even the lower coverage might be effective to make a infection less bad.

I have very little trust in our US institutions, because they got politicalized and because of the election have been put under serious pressure by our government, to produce a vaccine, faster than fast.

Its not the case in Germany, if Germany and the EU certify a vaccine, than that vaccine went through all the testing and the results will have had the most exhausting peer review.
I would take it with out a second thought.
In the US, I would take the bioNtech and Pfizer, without a second thought, when that vaccine is certified in Europe.
By the way, Pfizer refused to take US Government funding, so that there are no strings attached.
The US is a huge market, but not as huge as the EU. Pfizers Partner, bioNtech, has a pre-contrac for more than 200 million doses with the EU. They do not want to screw that one up. 90 million with Germany.
They have to do it right, to make the billions.
By the way, those to German companies are at NASDAQ, could be a Apple or Teslar investment right now.

    Just saying.

    This Photo is pure B.S.

Most of the protesters were non violent but propaganda photos by the right wing only emphasize the ones who weren't. Remember it was Psycho-Don who told our country to go F--Ourselves: he told 3 U.S. born Congresswomen of color to go back to their own counties , refused to wear protective masks himself, was slow on the draw to react to covid -19 allowing thousands of deaths that could have been stopped. refused to provide PPE to the states that need them. Told a rally of fascists in Charlottesville they were good people even though one of them murdered a protester with his car. No wonder people are out in the street.

On August 12, 2017, James Alex Fields Jr. deliberately drove his car into a crowd of people who had been peacefully protesting the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, killing one and injuring 19. The 20-year-old Fields had driven from Ohio to attend the rally. Fields previously espoused neo-Nazi and white supremacist beliefs." https://www.bing.com/search?q=Prote...b14e3c5dc88ab61c&pglt=171&FORM=ANNTA1&PC=HCTS

    Straight out of the Constitution:

This applies to anybody that rises to the position of President of the United States....whether temporary or permanent. Your Google-Fu must be weak.

Making fun of the alcoholic murderous old hag is just desserts. Has she died already? We only see her doppelgänger/decoy anymore. Your cruise ship/numbers theory is pathetic, even for you. We have the most deaths because of our porous borders; that’s it. And we only have those porous borders because the Democrat Party have deemed it racist to deny entry to those dirty, unwashed, undocumented huddled masses of illegal immigrants.

Agreed. My only point is, who is dying in larger numbers, Democrat voters or Republican voters? I don't know.

Day 3 of his illness. It has nothing to do with the start of the five-day course of remdesivir. First dose last night (day 2 of his illness), second tonight, third Sunday night, fourth Monday night and fifth Tuesday night. By which point he will be in day 6 of his illness and will have finished his 5-day course of remdesivir.

But that article is for a new incoming president and vice president. We're talking about under the circumstances that would invoke the 25th amendment. The whole purpose of the 25th is to provide an efficient transfer of power, and if circumstances make taking an oath impractical or impossible for whatever reason, there is nothing in the 25th that would invalidate it because an "oath for president" was not conducted. There is no mention under the 25th that it is required.

Ok, I just read the transcript. He said that they had a positive on Thursday afternoon, so that makes it better. At 8:00 a.m., though, it was getting towards the end of the second day. A technicality.

I wish I didn't have to be so suspicious about everything coming out of the WH.

That clause is for ANYBODY that rises to President....whether elected or declared. This is implied with Clause 6 (2 clauses above what I posted earlier) says:

    Clause 6
    • In Case of the Removal of the President from Office, or of his Death, Resignation, or Inability to discharge the Powers and Duties of the said Office, the Same shall devolve on the Vice President, and the Congress may by law provide for the Case of Removal, Death, Resignation or Inability, both of the President and Vice President, declaring what Officer shall then act as President, and such Officer shall act accordingly, until the Disability be removed, or a President shall be elected.
Nobody special need to administer the oath. It can be witness by just about any member of Congress or personnel on the Executive Staff. There should be nothing that makes administering the oath impossible or impractical.

    Just read the 25th Amendment:

    Twenty-Fifth Amendment

    Section 1

In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President.

    Section 2

Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.

    Section 3

Whenever the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, and until he transmits to them a written declaration to the contrary, such powers and duties shall be discharged by the Vice President as Acting President.

    Section 4

Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives his written declaration that no inability exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive department or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office. Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the Congress within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President; otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of his office.
There is no requirement for an oath if the 25th is invoked. Upon the conditions in Section 1 of the 25th, it's automatic as Acting President.

In medicine day 1 day 2 day 3 are not typically linked to a true 24hour/48/72 period. If we get a patient admitted at 6 PM, the next morning we're calling it day 2 of hospitalization. It's typically a calendar-driven thing, because we need to correlate this to notes (often standards of care will require a "daily" note for an acute patient at least, regardless of the specific time of the day when the patient was admitted), labs done on "day 1" meaning admission labs, then labs done on "day 2" meaning subsequent follow-up labs, etc. even if they were drawn in the morning of day 2 some 12 hours after admission, etc. That's standard jargon. I wouldn't make much of it. Again, the lay press and the lay public sometimes make a lot of waves out of stuff that is standard for those who are insiders in the medical profession. It's similar to all the brouhaha about Regeneron's language regarding the compassionate use, which were interpreted as ominous but are straight out of the compassionate use act and are standard language for any still-not-approved medication that is given to someone through the act.

    ------------

The president has just posted a 4-minute video directly from Walter Reed, wearing a suit and tie and sitting on a table, looking good. He spoke for the full 4 minutes with no cough, no shortness of breath, and he is not on oxygen. I'm very reassured.

It is not in Article 25 because it is already covered in Article 2. One article of the Constitution does not invalidate another part of the Constitution just because it does not rehash portions that was already addressed.

I honestly can not believe we are arguing this. Nine VP succeeded to the Presidency and all nine took the oath as soon as possible. It is not only tradition, it is stated right in the Constitution that it has to take place. There is absolutely NO Constitutional scholar or Judge that will say it is not needed. Your argument that it is not needed is only exposing what little you know of the Constitution, its history, and it use.
