Numerous requests for unmasking predominately of one high level Trump appointee by high level administration officials with no evident need or purpose other than to do damage to the Trump presidency over a short period of time is self-evident wrong doing prima facie. By the Ambassador to the UN?????

It is my opinion the RW or anybody that asserts illegalities with the unmasking requests does not understand the law.

Unmasking doesn’t damage anyone, and assumes they knew who they were unmasking...which sort of defeats the purpose of doing it lol

What Is illegal is the abuse of power and, invasion of privacy, violating 4th amendment right and the Privacy Act. There are in fact criminal penalties for these things.

If democrats were running this investigation and Republicans were the target, we'd have 12 convictions of lying to prosecutors or grand juries or congress, 10 convictions on mail fraud, 3 convictions on lying on tax returns and one convicting on improper use of a government credit card.

How is someone damaged by unmasking?

This is the logical, rational and common sense conclusion, but unfortunately doesn't meet strict legal scrutiny. First, there is no such crime in the federal statutes as "abuse of power." (Someone should teach Pelosi, Schiff, and Nadler about that!) Secondly the information gleaned from a FISA court warrant that wants to be unmasked has already been ruled constitutional. The unmasking of the party of the information is supposed to follow strict administrative guidelines but it is a long row to hoe to prove any illegality.

If the unmasking is used for political deragatory purposes by political operatives, or is leaked to the press for the same purpose, there is clear and obvious damage done. You can check with Gen. Flynn to see how much damage he suffered.

Obviously leaking isn’t ok. Flynns problem was that he committed a felony, unmasking didn’t cause that.

So stolen Emails are ok, but unmasking is super bad? Is that the Republican position?

Flynn did not commit a felony. He pled guilty to committing a felony -- not the same thing. He was coerced into the plea solely from the clearly wrong unmasking done by the Obama administration senior operatives. The information would not have been leaked to the press had it been rightfully unmasked.

No Republicans stole any emails, or for that matter nobody that anyone knows for certain stole any emails (though emails were clearly purloined), and obviously nobody stole any of the subpoenaed emails that Hillary destroyed, ya know by wiping her drive with a dishrag and a hammer. Nonetheless, stealing emails is not OK and should be punished, and neither is improper unmasking OK and should be punished

This is 2 elections in a row where trump is relying on stolen emails
    What makes unmasking improper?

    And what would he say?

He was damaged because it exposed his lie. An illegal act
