No, I'm making a decision for myself, and someone else is making a decision for him/herself. If one is so damn scared to go out in public, then they can freely make the decision to stay the **** home and lock themselves up in their basement. Nobody is forcing them to go out anywhere or to expose themselves to anything...

When you sneeze, do you cover up? Or do you sneeze on someone and say, "Well, not my fault, you should have stayed home ..."?

More evidence confirming the many controlled trials that proved masks are worse than useless against the spread of viruses.

    More mask charts

How did covering your mouth when you cough become political?

30 mg of Zinc sulfate every day for me!

And if I even think I might be 'coming-down' with something, I'll increase my daily dose of 2 grams of Vitamin-C on up to as much as 8 grams of it per day! Dr. Linus Pauling lived to be 93 years old for good reasons....

People are generally repulsed by spit and snot unless it comes from someone they find especially attractive.
Beyond that have there been any clinical trials showing that covering your mouth when coughing prevents the spread of viruses?

Sorry -- I meant to say that I take 30 mg of Zinc CITRATE... not sulfate as I said earlier.

See? This is part of why people in the 'senior citizen' bracket should not (NOT) hold high office in the government! (...and I do not).

Sneezing on people is rude... I do my best to keep it to myself.

With that said, germs being in the air and on surfaces is inevitable. It is a part of life. It cannot be avoided. It is "part of the experience" of going out in public... I also cannot spread an illness that I do not have. Instead of fear mongering, I suggest taking care of yourself, getting good sleep, eating healthy foods, getting fresh air, taking zinc and Vitamin D supplements, getting sunlight, and other immune system boosting activities...

Yup. The Wisconsin data looks much like that chart, unfortunately...

The sad thing is that our useless leaders of the State (Republican controlled) legislature refuse to do anything about it even though they expressly have statutory power to put an immediate end to it from freaking Day ONE... And I've actually received more emails back (about the BS State mandate) from our tyrannical useless Governor than I have from either of them... =/

RP politicians tend to be repulsive feckless twits. I am surprised that the DP didn't finish them off decades ago.
That voters given the choice of repulsive and feckless and a Democrat politician can still be convinced to hold their nose is astonishing. I think half the RP base is would turn on their Representatives and Senators if they could do it without electing Democrats.

Ever have someone sick in your household that acted responsibly (covering their mouth, sleeping in their own room, not going to work, etc.) and nobody else get sick? How do you think that works? Also the Flu was stopped dead in it's tracks this year, guess what's different about people this year.

If you are going to have open heart surgery, would you want it done by a board certified surgeon or by an elected politician??

Oh, yes, that's so "practical"...check everyone's temp at the door and when your brother-in-law is told he has a fever and can't enter but his wife and kids can what will he do? Go sit in his car until you've all gorged yourself and spread a disease all for a silly assinine TRADITION ???

People are going to do what they WANT to do, foxhastings, whether you think its "assinine" (sic) or not.

I merely offered suggestions for how people can avoid contracting this disease if they insist on 'gathering' together for whatever reason....

People do stupid things, foxhastings. Sometimes people clump together in undisciplined, unruly mobs, spewing all kinds of body fluids all over each other, while participating in asinine exercises like those we've seen frequently this year among ANTIFA, BLM, NFAC, etc.

    You didn't answer my question.

And I like my spelling of assinine, it's more accurate.

BTW, I never said people wouldn't do what they want to do. I asked a question....an UNanswered question...

Your 'question' has no prescribed answer, as you know well. The hypothetical 'gathering' you posed can either go all "open" to everyone or it can use reasonable preventive methods to avoid spreading disease. I offered suggestions, foxhastings, not dictums....

Do you think your hypothetical 'brother-in-law' WANTS to infect everybody at the family's Thanksgiving banquet? If 'so', or 'no', there's no decision that will be made in that family's holiday situation which differs from the participants' preferences, so what ANSWER do you expect me to provide to your hypothetical situation...? :lonely:

Afterthought: Feel welcome to spell words any way you wish, foxhastings. We Americans are laughed at throughout the world for the way we write, so why should you be any different...? :spin:

You missed my point completely. Telling Fauci to stay home and having elected politicians make decisions that a dr/scientists would normally decide makes no sense at all.

LOL, why would you make a suggestion that was a "no-go" from the start ?

No, we're laughed at because Trump is our President...

BTW, when you hit the reply button , the other poster knows you 're addressing them so repeating their name over and over isn't necessary...

There's nothing that's "no-go from the start", foxhastings -- as I've said several times, the decision about who should be let into any gathering of any kind is made by the gathering's organizers and/or participants. No mystery there.... And you are also equally free to make any suggestions you like about family (or other) gatherings.

BTW, when people are 'running a temperature', that one thing alone is sufficient to exclude them from entry into most areas where people gather today (a dentist's office, for example).

And, yes, foxhastings, I know who you are. You have taken care in the past to ensure that you are, in all instances, known exclusively by your full Forum name, and so I have addressed you accordingly... hoping that in no way should I run the risk of giving you any possible offense by misidentifying you....

    Have a lovely, disease-free Thanksgiving!

I, for one, most certainly would. While Scott Fitzgerald isn't the worst, Robin Vos is completely useless... Fitzgerald did initially want to convene to vote down the mask BS, but Vos refused to do so, and Fitzgerald has since given up trying to bring it up to a vote... Vos is the main one who held up the works, and who I am most disappointed with... Fitzgerald and Vos both keep bitching about how illegal and unconstitutional the mandate is, but they either give up on the fight when it isn't going their way (Fitzgerald) or they refuse to actually f***ing do a damn thing about it (Vos)...

As Trump said to Biden last night, "you're all talk, no action"... The same damn thing applies to the leading Republicans in my State Legislature... I'm damn disappointed in them right now...
