The Commission on Presidential Debates is giving an enormous advantage to Donald Trump with its plan to mute the microphones of the candidates at Thursday night's presidential debate when they're not supposed to be speaking. That was likely not the commission's intent, and I realize President Trump and his spokespeople are fuming about it, but the mute button is a gift to the Trump campaign.
By muting Trump's interruptions, the commission will show the American people a sanitized, false picture of this President. As we saw in the first debate last month, he is rude, raging and red-faced. An honest debate should reveal that. His 128 interruptions revealed the true Trump. Muting him only protects him from the consequences of his out of control behavior.

Trump did everything he could to censor Biden by talking all over him during the first debate whenever it was Biden's turn at the mic. Like you say it's the authoritarian way and Trump's certainly got his head buried in that playbook.

To that extent he's the architect of his own fate because, for the first time ever as far as I'm aware, the debate moderators have thought it necessary for each candidate to be muted so that the voters can hear what each will have to say in equal measure.

Trump won't be censored. He'll have exactly the same amount of time as Biden to advance his policy positions to the American people. If he wants to squander that time with childish insults and constant references to memes no one outside rightwingoverse has heard of and cares about even less, his time will be wasted.

Then he hands this laptop with all of these incriminating emails to the shop owner, who is a Trump supporter, who has no proof that Hunter actually dropped it off to him because for some mysterious reason, the security cameras in his shop were not working that day. But not to worry, because the Trump supporting store owner is 100% sure that it was Hunter Biden that dropped it off even though the store owner is legally blind. And now this NY Post "bombshell" was written up by a NY Post reporter who's brand new to the post after leaving her old position of being a producer on the Sean Hannity show. And her source for all of this information is Rudy Giuliani, who is recently the target of a Russian disinformation campaign, which I'm sure has absolutely nothing to do with this.
