It may be a taboo subject for many, that there is a far-right tendency that exists within the UK Conservative Party and this isn't a new phenomenon. Of course we've all heard that there are socialists and Marxists within the UK Labour Party, but we don't often hear quite as much about extremism with the UK Conservative Party. This is probably due to a conservative bias within the British media. I quote from the Wikipedia page: Far-right politics in the United Kingdom

Conservatives provided the free lunches this summer. They just elected not to extend the program into the holidays. Blair damaged Labour over Iraq and fragmented the left even further which is why he is constantly apologizing for it. Johnson has at least been able to pull the right a little closer together albeit it a constant juggling act.
The Iraq War wasn't exactly the high point of Blair's time in government. It's not just Boris Johnson. Recent events must have proved to the Conservative Party that they must come together or all is lost.
