I don’t think the problem is so much with the general public reading journals as much as journalists misrepresenting the science to the public.

I don't want to regurgitate talking points and I'm sure you don't want to hear them. What I will say is it doesn't matter what was or wasn't done previously. We all can make a decision right now on how we want to go forward. We are the greatest country in the world so we can certainly figure this out if we could only stop fighting with each other. Believe me, I typically am traveling and it's been challenging working from home the last 8 months. I can't even take my annual solo road trip. I'm totally bummed about it but this is the right decision for me right now.

Going by favorable/unfavorable at the time in 2016, either one most likely would have defeated Clinton by 10 plus points in the popular vote instead of losing it by 2 points. Either one would be 10 points ahead of Biden instead of being 10 down. But that was your choice, suffer the consequences. Sometimes the wrong decisions come back to haunt you in ways totally unexpected.

I on the other hand have been out living life to the fullest. I practice good hygiene and wear a mask when appropriate but life’s a risk and Covid is just one more in a long list of ways to die.

Most of us chose to live in reality and the reality was it was going to be Hillary or Trump.

Ah yes...the ole “destroy” America nonsense. Let’s see...when GW Bush was up for re-election the Left said if re-elected he will destroy the country. He was re-elected...America wasn’t destroyed. Then the Right claimed Obama would destroy the country...which never happened. Then the Left said Trump would destroy the country...hasn’t happened. And now here we are, just like clockwork, with someone on the Right saying Biden and/or Harris will destroy the country. These claims are beyond comical.

Like I said, Trump was your choice, Hillary the Democrats. So both parties had to live with that and we all will continue to live with those choices. So get ready for your choice in 2016 to come back to haunt you. The Democrats have had 4 years of haunting for their choice already.

    Exactly.

Honestly I'm not really someone who gets spun up regarding politics in real life. I stay up to date on current events and remain engaged in discussing politics but rarely do I ever read or hear something that legitimately makes me mad in real life. Joe Biden's statement at the debate the other night was something that genuinely made me furious. His continuous statement of "The stock market isn't a metric of how well the economy is doing" (paraphrasing) is something that personally pisses me off because he keeps saying that sort of thing. Or he and his cohorts keep saying "millionaires made millions during the pandemic while Americans suffered" trying to paint the market as a negative thing that "you" aren't supposed to care about. It's folks like him who keep the false narrative going that the market = rich people and rich people are bad so it's ok to hurt them they can take it.

No Joe, the market doing well and recovering to where it was in January IS a GOOD thing. That means average working folks like me have made their money back after losing thousands of dollars of it. These are folks entire life savings that were gone in a matter of DAYS and with the market recovery that means their money has returned. Sure Jeff Bezos may have made millions or billions during COVID, but with the market recovering the average worker with a retirement plan also made their money back and then some. That's not a negative and yes that absolutely DOES matter.

Thats why I always smile when Trump keeps saying the market is folks 401ks and savings and trying to pound that into these young kids heads. The market crashing isn't just "haha filthy rich 1%ers only have 10 billion dollars now instead of 50 billion". It's your parents life savings that they just lost also children. Biden and company are purposefully pandering to the militant base of young people with no 401ks or savings who think our capitalist system is evil and unfair by downplaying the significance of the market. They can't say that the market recovering to pre COVID is good because it happened under Trump and they can't say the market doing well is good for working class Americans because they KNOW their economic plan is going to likely gut punch the market if they gain power. But if they continue pushing the narrative that the market = rich people and rich people are bad so don't care what happens with the market it becomes much easier to sell their economic plan that they know full well is going to hurt the market.

You go up there and tell the actual truth and say "Well the market taking a massive nosedive is going to cause billionaires to lose billions but it'll also bankrupt your retired mother and father" then even many these militant young people who hate capitalism would stop and say "wait what? No I dont want that to happen to my parents..."

It's good you're able to do what works for you but I still hope you're being considerate for those who may not be as healthy as you. It's such a small sacrifice after all.

I'M LEAVING THE COUNTRY GOD***IT. But don't hold me to that.

I will divest from any growth stocks for sure. I suppose I should buy some bricks and kerosene, not sure why but just because.

I don't know who you are listening to, but I have Trump winning in a landslide ,,, and he will continue to impede Xi in opposition to Xi's cementing China as the only sovereign nation in the world. In the unlikely event Beijing Biden wins, you'd better learn to speak your new language ,,, Biden's policy of allowing China to build militarized islands in international waters will look like an assertive posture in comparison to what's coming.

Government has been good to Joe and many other Progressives who have been in DC for a lifetime and sold every office they held. My father worked for the government as a civilian his whole life. When he passed away at 87 a few years back his annual pension for this civilian job plus retirement from the Air Force Reserves was $90K after retiring at 55 yrs old. Even if the progressive politicians weren't corrupt, they would be making a tidy sum for people who never contributed to the economy. Joe has 3 or 4 houses. He never lets the media see the mansions, only the little ranch. He didn't amass his wealth as a Senator or VP. We've been treated to a little peak into how Progressive Politicians get filthy rich while smearing people who earn their wealth honestly. Peter Scheizer has a good book out on the subject: Profiles in Corruption.

Buy some of those nice little pharma research companies listed on nasdaq, when they hit the vaccine jack pot, they will go through the roof.
There are some German ones, which gained massive non refundable financial support from the government, like curevac or biontec.
    biontech already double in 2020.
    Nice bier money.

You're playing the same game that Trump played (although you sound a little more careful)

Good luck when it catches up with you. You won't get the kind of care he got

    Decency evaporated with Newt Gingrich

The poor showing by Republicans in the 1998 Congressional elections, a reprimand from the House for Gingrich's ethics violation, pressure from Republican colleagues, and revelations of an extramarital affair with a congressional employee 23 years his junior resulted in Gingrich's resignation from the speaker-ship on November 6, 1998.[4][5] He resigned altogether from the House on January 3, 1999.[6] Political scientists have credited Gingrich with playing a key role in undermining democratic norms in the United States and hastening political polarization and partisanship

I'm not old and never thought I was at risk......I was wrong. I get what you're saying but we'll have to disagree on this. Never the less, I do appreciate the discussion. Thank you.

Not everyone can agreeably disagree and I appreciate those that can.
Best post Covid thing I did was bike ride going to the sun road in Glacier NP this spring before it opened to cars. We rented a cabin and lived large. Not sure how many years I have left and I won’t waste one of them hiding in my basement. Life’s short and getting shorter every day. :)

Not running for the hills is the program.
The world is not going to end. Not from the virus, no matter how nasty that sucker is, or Trump, or Biden.

You should know we have to bent with the wind or we get uprooted.
Live should have told you so.
In a certain way Trump is right, we have to live with the virus.
    But not Trumps way.
Its about buying time, till a vaccine shows up.
Buying time could mean many more years of enjoying live.
I have to go to my company, leave the farm, were I am save. So I do everything possible to make my company save and use every precaution to stay save.

    Same on investment.
When the virus hit I researched, who will possible produce a save and in the Western World accepted vaccine.
I found 2 companies, never ever heard about them. Checked them out, looked at their research, who is behind them, the whole nine yards and than watched their covid programs and when they did phase 2 I pulled money out of others stuff and invested.

As it looks bion will hit jack pot in November, their US partner is Pfizer. They split profits 50:50. Not such a big deal for Pfizer but a gigantic deal for a very small company like bio. It means billions. They have the patents on top of it.
Curevac is a cute little thingy. Maine share holders with blocking majority is the founder of SAP and the German government. They are in phase 2.

Live is about bending in the wind and finding opportunities. Like learning to live with covid, you have to learn how investment opportunities open up, or run a business, despite covid and use the measurement to your advantage.
We make rather good money, because we provide as save an environment as possible

4th of November the sun will rise and another glorious day will start.
