Rotate? If a justice rotates out, who rotates in? Biden is going to need extra Supreme Court justices in the bullpen waiting for their chance to rotate and guess who gets to pick those justices? This is the same as packing the court.

A rose by any other name.

So what? Do you honestly think having a Supreme Court loaded with representative views of the minority in this country is just???

That idea makes no sense whatsoever. I am not sure it would even be Constitutional because you are effectively adding a requirement of being a federal judge to the position.

Much better especially for taxpayers would be A mandatory retirement age with a far lower retirement salary than exists at present. That would apply to ALL government jobs not just the judiciary.

He should take up smoking pot or taking acid so he would have a good excuse for this foolish idea. That's just stupid.

As per the excuse the Republicans have given, “it is legal”

    As is court packing.

I don’t blame them with what Republicans are trying to turn the court into, it has gone from 5-4 or 4-5 on most issues to a 6-3 super majority and is tilted away from popular opinion. The courts legitimacy is being destroyed by the very same people that once called a moderate court “judicial activism”.

But what more could one expect from the Gaslight Obstruct Project party.

Great, just what we need. Instability in the court rulings, to further the disenfranchisement of the court. Just get rid of the damn thing already(my politically minority view.). I guess it's moving closer to that direction but if the court is to be a staple I'd rather it treated like a staple.

The left is doing everything possible to change the rules; eliminate the electoral college or change the way the states count them, pardon felons to let them vote, now this.

Was that your view when your vindictive bitter RBG literally remained on the Supreme Court until she died??

Rules? What rules are you referring to?
Is there a rule about adding justices or rotation of the court?
Is there a rule about not allowing felons to vote?

I actually floated a similar idea on this forum a few months ago. It is aimed at depoliticizing SCOTUS. Here are the features.
    - 2 SCOTUS judges from each of the 12 circuits for a total of 24 on the court.
    - Each case is assigned to 9 of the judges at random.
    - Judgments are issued anonymously. Dissents are discouraged if not disallowed altogether.
    - adhering to precedent is an important feature.

It’s an idea. It would be interesting to have a discussion about different ways to depoliticize the court.

Rotating was actually a Bernie idea. Just pack the court. 15 seems appropriate.

Hmm, no.... The congress represents views, both majority and minority, the president does.... The Supreme Court does not represent views, it interprets the Constitution. Nothing more, nothing less. Duh

You're going to make me cry.

You support a President who appoints judges in the hope that they will vote for him to overturn a close election.

You mean like the rulings the SCOTUS has been making benefiting liberal social ideology for the past 40 years even though most of them were against the will of the people?

If I recall, last week you were not happy that Trump wasn't following tradition with his taxes.

I'm not necessarily opposed to the idea, I'm just curious how do we handle the circus of confirming a new justice each time. Are we going to have to deal with a Kavanaugh false flag every two years when a republican is in office or does Biden just want to put them in himself without any input from congress?

While we're at it, can we install term limits for congress? 40 years in power is a bit ridiculous.

Riiiiiiiiiiiight, sure, sell that BS elsewhere.

If that were true there would be no fuss, but any person with a working noggin knows her appointment IS political.
