Ahhh the Republicans have not engaged in 'court packing' but the AOC bunch came out today and said if the Dems win the Senate and WH and they have all three their intention IS to expand court so that open the door for Trump and a Republican Senate to do it and have Trump appoint two more constitutionalist Justices. And the Dems would have no complaint here if he did don't you agree?

The Republicans will eventually have the opportunity? If Trump gets reelected and the Rep's retain the Senate they can just do it. They will have to decide should they take these Dems at their word and if they eventually get the opportunity they so they should pre-empt them?

I’m hoping Trump wins, and Repubicans retain the senate, etc.

But I think the dems hatred is being underestimated. They are probably going to make a lot of gains this time around as peoples emotions have been effectively risen by the MSM, socia media, Hwood, etc.

I’m confident its short term gains however, with longterm loses

Do the Republicans have a choice not too? Sure they can come to an "agreement" with the Dems buy who trust the Dems anymore.

There is a move to pass an amendment to the Constitution basically saying

"The Supreme Court of the United States will consist of the Chief Justice and eight Associate Justices."

That's all it would take to take it out of the hands of politicians. Remember the Senate was established to represent the States and not be a political body. It was to balance the House which represents the People and would be more prone to irrational and radical legislation making it partisan. But the 17th made the Senate just as political as the House. So the next amendment should be to repeal the 17th.

Yes I fear that the Biden/Harris team will win based on irrational emotions and the propaganda in which the MSM is engaged.

Show me this Rule against packing or as we would say down here, stacking.

I agree ACB is well qualified. However, she is totally unsuitable as a Justice.

Doing it within days of a very contentious POTUS election is contrary to established tradition or practice. But, as I have said before, game on, same rules for each team, and after January 2021, it will be the Republicans calling foul.

Well for starters those numbers are different....
But even the electoral college. A vote for president in Wyoming is worth more than one in California

The dem position of packing is absurd.

Nonetheless, they will continue to lose in the long run. They failed to have the forethought to recognize how republicans would use their own change of rules against them and it cost them 3 scotus. Trump is forever a 3 scoop president.

When dems pack the court, republicans will return the favor and dems will once again be shocked that their own actions cost them in the long run.

Yes but not everyone’s vote is equal based on arbitrary boundaries.

Much better than giving the entire country over to california and new york to decide everything for us.

This is far superior. Electoral college is here to stay, for my life time atleast I am sure. Which is what matters to me.

Sen Biden conceived of this standard and argued adamantly for its implementation, believing it in so much that he pushed for the change at a point when there was no appointee in question. So if he, whilst in his prime, was wrong to push for such a radical concept then is it not permissible that the current highly degraded Joe Biden is even more wrong as he (and of course I mean the people pulling his strings) attempts to take us in even more radical directions? As for what happened to the 'rule' well its simple, since it never was a rule the Senate proceeded per the prerogative of its majority leadership. Perhaps Sen McConnell was motivated by the Democrats rejection of the 'Biden rule' once they saw it in action during the Garland nomination and set it aside, conveniently so.

And yes, true, Sen Reid's nuclear option was only available for federal level appointments, during the period where 125-130 some odd appointees were processed. But if you want to suggest that those positions are somehow less significant than a SCOTUS seat then I'd direct you to the fact that the sum total of Americans those filled seats can impact is in the 100's of millions.

Incorrect, if the electoral college wasn't present california and ny would run the country.

    Thats horrible, and embarrasing.

This is as equal as it could possibly be without allowing ny and cali rule the nation.

We don't. We have a system where the party that wins more voting blocs wins the White House.

It works perfectly as long as Democrats stay and eat the polices they voted for instead of running for red states.

First you said The Left. Now you say Democrats. Pick a lane. Democrats arent the Left for the most part (beyond maybe AOC) and Bernie (who's technically an independent).

Yeah only in America would progressive corporatists be confused with the left.

The Dems are center to center right in any other democracy. Your overton window is so skewed to the right it's ridiculous.
