Joe Biden Promises to Push Elected Officials into Issuing Mask Mandates Nationwide

Push in what way? Withholding federal payments that should never exist in the first place? Another example of the corruption of using federal money for state issues.

That’s a particularly pathetic straw man argument.

I doubt that he will behave in the ham handed and dictatorial manner that you’re used to with your fuhrer.

He will used the bully pulpit to urge what he can’t decree. And, if necessary, he will go to Congress for temporary authority (or for Congressional action).

That’s the way government is supposed to work.

And governors will listen to Biden. They don’t trust, or listen to Trump.

He has given them reason after reason not to.

So who would force you to get within 10 feet of another? I took my dog and grand niece for a walk around the neighborhood yesterday. We did not wear masks. No one out walking was wearing masks. There is no guarantee that one of the many ladies out walking wouldn't have the uncontrollable urge to kiss me on the lips.

Forcing me and my neighbors to pay $300. in fines does nothing to benefit society in any way and would no nothing to slow the spread of covid.

lol, it is a bit of a hike isn't it?
We rarely if ever visit Denver itself, it has nothing I'm interested in to be honest and most of the people that I know who previously lived close to the city have left and are dealing with commuting instead.
Had a great trip out there last time, stayed in Boulder but explored Co. Springs, Nederland, Boulder, Tried to go to Mt Evans but according to google it was closed, yes, they closed an entire mountain due to Covid... We just shook our heads and went elsewhere. The stories I'm hearing from Denver are pretty weird, especially the homeless issues.

As I mentioned, I do quick 3-5 day trips somy experience is anecdotal but IMO the mask compliance was very high in public, even a good 25% on the trails were wearing one.

The two huge bits of weirdness were:

    1) massive overcrowding on the commuter train at the airport
    2) 100% mask compliance getting to and on the airplane but within 10 minutes of takeoff 300 people remove masks at the same time to have pretzels and water.

Next time I expect to see someone with a huge bag of chex mix, then they can "snack" without a mask for a good 45 minutes during the flight.

Pretty shitty dictator if he wasn’t actually able to do anything that makes him a dictator. He’s an equally crappy racist too since he wasn’t able to do anything that made life worse for blacks people. He’s actually made their lives better by any measurable standard.

Thanks to the non-stop influx of Kalifornians since the 1990's, almost the entire Denver/Boulder area is one big fugged-up, Democrat-dominated mess. The homeless problems are LEGION, and they aren't going to go away....

whats weird is the dress code, I can't tell the hippies from the homeless. I had packed a couple of nice button down shirts for dinners out but everyone was dressed so sloppy I just kept on my dirty t-shirt from hiking.

Yeah, don't bother to 'dress-up' to go anywhere east of Littleton and north of the Denver Tech Center. It's just about all Democrat 'ass-wipe' from there on up to the Wyoming line.

My completely unsolicited advice to any citizen of the United States these days --

    1. When in public, wear a mask that completely covers your mouth and nose securely.
    2. When in public, wear nitrile gloves (and don't touch things that other people handle).
    3. Stock up at stores during times when others don't.
    4. Stay home.
    5. Lock your doors.
    6. Load your firearms.
    7. Mind your own damned business!

Nobody (NOBODY) -- not Trump, and not Biden, can know what the behaviors of an engineered bio-weaponized virus are going to be -- especially after it has undergone well over a hundred mutations worldwide by this point.

Trump has been the one that all the hateful Democrats have blamed for everything. Who are they going to blame when they find out to their utter astonishment that Biden doesn't have 'a magic wand', either...?!

The way government is supposed to work is to protect individual freedom.

That's not the point. If an officer approaches you, and you fail to put on a mask, you are putting him at risk. As your neighbor, you may say you're not going to be in contact with anyone, but I have no reason to trust you. The law is reasonable. Just wear the damn mask. The sooner you do so, the quicker we can get back to normal.

Public health takes precedence over the "freedom" to not wear a mask, which I don't think exists. My individual freedom depends on you wearing a mask.

I do wear a mask. I don't like the authoritarianism that convinced you public health is more important than freedom.

Actually, he was able (with the help of Barr and McConnell) to set a series of very dangerous precidents that will make it far easier for Trump, or some future tyrant to declare themselves king.

Trump placed himself above the rule of law consistantly throughout his first term.

He illegally ordered his staff to ignore congressional subpoenas (which is against the law) and openly obstructed justice, and withheld evidence and witnesses from both the courts and Congress.

But thanks to Mitch McConnell and Bill Barr, neither the Justice Department nor Congress lifted a finger to defend the idea of three equal branches of government, or to check the imperial ambitions of a president who thinks he should be a king (and says so frequently).

His open intimidation of the civil service and the Justice department and the intelligence community (much less the scientific community) also play to his megalomaniacal tendencies.

His latest move is an open threat to conduct a purge of the civil service. And, as experience proves, the litmus test won’t be competence. It will be loyalty to the fuhrer.

But he has gotten away with it for the most part. Making it all the more easy for the next tyrant.

    Unless major reforms are undertaken.

And unless the public finally learns that tabloid crackpots like Trump and Sarah Palin are nothing more than cheesy entertainers, and not fit for leadership roles.

You got part of it. The officer has no business approaching a free citizen for not wearing a mask, unless you are visiting the Middle East. No one is forcing you to get within 10 feet of me and using the hypothetical that I may force myself on you and kiss you on the lips is not reasonable. I rarely do that!

Im not trying to change your mind, thats your opinion and I respect that. I draw the line where opinions are forced onto others.

As far as getting back to normal, tolerating overreach and abuse of power is never a path to normalcy.
