Philadelphia City Council Proudly Votes To Ban Crowd Control Weapons Amid Mass Rioting

Unless you're literally promoting riots, looting and arson, why in the world would you take away anything that can help prevent all that violence and possibly save a life or two? Right before an election this is playing into Trump's hands, Philly is handing him a gift.

I'll never understand why people elect politicians like the ones in Philly, they're literally voting against their own well being.

 

Crazy times. I confess I know very little about the historical culture of Philadelphia. I always thought it was kind of a quiet City

 

Might as well let blue cities burn and all become Detroit. They deserve it now.

 

It is hard to understand. Possibly a mental disorder or years of left wing brainwashing.

The rioting urban dwellers will burn down their own environments and then (if elected) Biden will seek to move them to the suburbs. The Democrats are already seeking to pave the way for this migration by eliminating single family homes via zoning changes intended to bring high density housing to the suburbs.

The law doesn't effect enforcement of violent crimes

It looks like the city wants alternatives to crowd control that don't include projectiles and noxious airborne agents. Whether they succeed remains to be seen, but it's a serious attempt at reform. It's what people want. I give them credit for moving forward.

 

This is Darwinism at its finest.

 

People want reform based on ridiculously false narratives.

Its also worth pointing out, that crowd control involves use of force. Its use of force people are so against right now, because they view the police (unjustly) as oppressors rather than protectors. Like it or not, reform or not, there will always be a need for use of force. This is what people think they dont want.

 

I'm all for finding new ways to deal with crowd control problems, especially non-lethal ways.

But I also feel you should have those new ways in place before you get rid of what currently works.

I still can't get past the article in the OP. This guy is now being described as an "aspiring rapper"? And he was only 27 and already had NINE KIDS and another one on the way?? And one of his kids is already a brainwashed race-baiter quoted as saying "these white racist cops got my own dad". THIS IS THE PROBLEM. Euphemising thugs, them breeding like rabbits, and then brainwashing their kids so we'll have another generation of ignorant whiney race-baiters (with no concept of personal responsibility) to contend with. I swear, sterilization should be a prerequisite for receiving welfare at least.

Meanwhile "at least 17 ATMs were blown up and looted, at least 2 people were fatally shot, and 57 law enforcement officers have been wounded" and the idiot politicians voted to ban crowd control weapons.

5 or 6 years ago on another board I asked some liberals why some blacks blacks pronounce ask as ax. One of them gave me the email address of one of his old college professors and told me I should ask him, and I did. I told this professor that I lived and traveled all throughout this country, and no matter where I go, no matter what the local accent, no matter the education of the person, many blacks say ax instead of ask and I inquired if he might know why that is. He said the work ask is similar to a word that's been used in Africa for centuries and somehow, some way, some blacks have it built into their DNA to say ax instead of ask. I'm part Italian, German, Irish and Armenian and I don't have any words from their languages built into my DNA. How about you?
