Let's keep our heads screwed-on straight and be rational. Although there are likely to be numerous charges, counter-charges, challenges, resultant legal action, etc., etc. regarding this election, only one thing 'commands the board' -- 270 votes in the Electoral College! People on the Left and the Right can blow and bellyache about 'popular vote' and what they wish the Founding Fathers did and/or didn't do, and on and on and on! Nevertheless, the Constitution says what it says, and those who don't like what the Constitution says can amend it at some future time (it's been done successfully already no less than twenty-seven times). So, when it's all said and done, either Trump or Biden must (MUST) come up with 270 solid, verified votes in the Electoral College... are we at least all agreed on that?!
There are currently over 90 million ballets already cast. In 2016 there were a total of 137.5 million votes. That means well over 3/4 of the voters have already voted. Many of those votes cant be counted until election day (based on state), but they will be counted on election day, just as if they had voted that day. I think the only way we see a protracted announcement of a winner is if Trump contests the vote. The Trump campaign is in court in almost every state in the union right now trying to either suppress the vote, if not invalidate it altogether. Let that sink in for a minute
I guess your comment is some sort of deflection attempt. I notice you don't attempt to deny my claim. https://dailycaller.com/2019/12/23/virginia-house-zoning-environment/
I'm good with your sentiments, but not so much your math... The current totals from my (temporary) favorite site https://electproject.github.io/Early-Vote-2020G/index.html 96+ million this year, making for 70.1% of 2016... Amazing though.... Trump will only be able to fight in a handful of states. Most will either be clear Red or clear Blue.. I predict at least Pa and Ga will be fertile ground for our scorched earth POTUS... EDIT - Speaking of scorched earth, it's a known fact that many of Hitlers final bunker orders were for Albert Speer to destroy as much of still-standing Berlin as he could before the Russians marched in. He mostly ignored the boss... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nero_Decree Food for thought, Bill Barr?? We know you love Food....
Regarding this, from https://www.supremecourt.gov/DocketPDF/20/20-542/158714/20201023203640046_Republican Party of Pennsylvania v. Boockvar - Cert Petition.pdf Pennsylvania's Constitution says: "§ 5. Elections. Elections shall be free and equal; and no power, civil or military, shall at any time interfere to prevent the free exercise of the right of suffrage." Personally, that seems like an awfully thin reed on which to hang arbitrarily re-writing election deadlines, but YMMV.
You do realize that eh Biden campaign dispatched over 600 lawyers across the nation as early as July to contest any Trump victory, right?
And for every lawyer the Trump campaign has working for it, you can bet your last dime that the Biden campaign will have at least one lawyer working for it, too. This whole mind-numbing, sickening thing is going to drag out well into December, or even longer -- wait and see. And when the smoke clears, it will end up being a Biden/Harris victory. It may be a Pyrrhic victory, but a victory nonetheless.... . "But, with Biden elected, you'll get four years of unemployment benefits!"
Not to contest any Trump victory, but rather, to defend against Trump's attempts to steal the election.
LOL.... that's not remotely what they are doing... you do realize that, don't you? Oh.... sorry to hear that....
Whereas I would counter that being told ballots may not be delivered in time to meet the state deadline, by the service responsible for that delivery, would easily qualify as an "emergency situation"... I fail to see how this move violates your Pa Constitution snip either..
Jus to be clear, the PA state supreme court used this clause of the PA constitution to justify "this move". I was merely providing you some additional information about a point you expressed a lack thereof. My argument has not been that "this move" was in violation of the state constitution, but the U.S. Constitution, which grants the power to set election rules to the state legislature, not the state courts.
No it doesnt seem like a reasonable position... When was that legislation written that says ballots are to be received by 8 p.m. on election day? Do you think when writing that law they envisioned a scenario where , because of a global pandemic, mail in voting would rise by double atleast stressing the ballot delivery system?
Hah.. In liberals eyes it's to defend against attempts to steal the election but Trumps lawyers are there to steal the election... The hypocrisy is ripe in liberal utopia! Just for clarity sake, if Trump wins a state like Pennsylvania, Biden's lawyers will accept the outcome or will they rigorously fight the outcome?
I see. So you believe all those idiotic conspiracy theories that Fox and its echo chamber has hammered into your head.
That's about it.. it's been in all the news.... well, most of the news.... As to your 2nd part, it depends by how much and how... Automatic recount happens at .5%
I didn't know that... I just know he is purposefully slowing the mail down in our country... Do you have a link?
It has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt. For starters, it was proven by Mueller. Quote either of them supporting looting, property destruction and assault on law abiding citizens or admit you made it up.
All the news, like CNN, MSNBC and Huffpo? Biden's lawyers will be exactly as Trump's lawyers in any contested district. To say one is doing something different than the other is very disingenuous.
You are in the wrong thread. There is a predictions thread. Don't try to derail this one with your nonsense.
