    The Great Reset
    https://www.weforum.org/great-reset
I happened upon this topic, and I've spent the last few hours trying to figure it out. Apparently, this is going to be the topic of the World Economic Forum in January 2021. There are several economically gifted posters in this section and I'm hoping they can comment on this topic and tell me if it's a good or bad idea.

Here are some additional sites I've looked through:

Now is the time for a 'great reset'

Something is coming, they just dont want the 7 Billion people to be Prepared Financially for it. They want to GORW their control, not give it up to bitcoin, or GOLD. If you back the dollar, "any fiat dollar" with GOLD, Silver, or tangible assets you are limited to how much BS you can pull over the eyes of the Public. Think about all the DEBT. How did that happen ? Nixon took us off of the GOLD standard which allowed the Central Banks, FED, Poltician's to Print as much money as needed. Worthless paper that only gains Faith via the Government POWER to dictate to it.

NOW, they know people are tired of going broke to their Dollar. 95% of Americans have gone backwards for 40 years. Only it happens at such a small amount each year, they miss the change. Somewhere about 2% a year for 40 years you have lost.
That doesnt mean there are no success stories, and those stated out as : The lifestyles of the rich and famous. Back then you could get 10% return on your money in a bank. Today, they CHARGE YOU to hold your money. So, why use them ? They are forcing you too. That is why. Not the convenience of it as they pass it off to be. Thats the LIE, use your phone, it is easier to pay your bills. We will only charge you xxxx per month. "IT SAVES YOU TIME TO SPEND WITH YOUR FAMILY"

THe FED and the rest of the crooks at IMF, BIS, and other central banks owned by the elite Jewish Cabal want you to think they are their to HELP U. That is a lie, they want to drain you slowly. We dont NEED banks. What they want is to get the public on a simple plan of payment, to rent everything and own nothing, they will own it all. Why do you think they have spent the last 3 years buying up Mortgage Backed Securities. They now own 20% of all homes.

The MSM, and FAUX FOX news are in on it too. They dont get together and make a big plan to box in the people, they have simple phone calls "dont talk about the financial situation or you will create a PANIC" It is hard to know how this palys out, I suspect one reset that breaks people down to a simple pay system. Then they realize how much control they lost and want a real reset, finance backed by GOLD.

There is LOTS AND LOTS of Info on Youtube. I know for a fact there are little ways outside of real tangible assets to SAVE. i want to SAVE my money and NOT have it inflated away by the Crooks. Right now, Gold, Silver, and when Real Estate FALLS again, buy more. You will need rentals to make any money in this country.

Again, a government solution for a government-caused problem.

Well, the US Constitution, at least, wasn't passed overnight either. It took (articles of confederation) a couple of attempts, and creating a government of the people. And it took place behind closed doors. But it did get formed and passed.

The government we have can explore new ideas for solving problems. And bettering the people.

But, I don't even know what the Great Reset is supposed to be. I heard that it was some sort of environmental program, sort of like the Green New Deal. But then, I read somewhere else that it was an economic thing. Either as a replacement for Capitalism or as Socialism.

I have been looking at this all day and I must say I'm not any less confused. The World Economic Forum will be holding a theme on it early next year. Maybe we can see what evolves from that conversation. But, it's still a couple of months away. And its weight might be no more than a light suggestion. I don't know if the details of it will make the news or whether it is a closed-door session.

Oh if it resets, it won't be the world economic forum imagines with their "global commons" thinking. It will be raw mercantilism like hasn't been seen in a couple centuries..

The whole premise of the US Constitution was to limit that of the federal government versus the monarchy that fought to eliminate. It was the great experiment to give the power to the people and not a single entity while providing protections.

The Great Reset, at least everything I've read, is insanely scary and is built on Marxist principles. It's basic principle is removing capitalism to cure the "cancer" of global warming.

    Laying the foundation.

    Well,
we use to have regulations and taxes on the extremely wealthy. From 30s - 80s that kept OUR country in check. Today, they, the rich call that communism or socialism as a proxy to fight regulations on the rich.

It is a head game for all. The rich control the media, thus the Gullible American Citizen. If it be BIDEN (told via FOX news to be a Socialist and will take away your Constitutional rights) or Trump (told by MSM to be a basket case, while preaching one way of life, he lives another). Just this weekend he was telling others to FIGHT, stand up for Steal the vote, what was he doing ? Golfing. Yet 60 MILLION Americans, poor ones at that find that to be NOBLE.

It is amazing really how the Cabal has stripped away the wealth from so many while growing their expo....

So... in short... Are you for a great reset or against a great reset based upon what you have read/heard to date? Based upon you response above, you appear to be for a great reset? I don't want to speculate, however.

As of 2019, there were 34 million people living below the poverty line in the US which was on a steady decline since 2010. "COVID" has thrust MILLIONS into extreme poverty which gives fodder for the great reset.

I'm torn. I like the focus on social programs, but I don't like pushing people to save the environment.

Great speach but I found it interesting how he mentioned that COVID has provided an opportunity to reset the world economies and accelerate their pre-pandemic efforts.
He also mentions following the UN STGS and eliminating poverty.

    https://sdgs.un.org/goals

Sounds great and all, but not sure what that means for people like you and me. Per what I've read and heard, everyone under the great reset becomes equal.
Highlights of the Great Reset initiative states the world is about to change and change extremely.

I still do not know what all of it means

And this gives a little bleaker look at the great reset. "you'll own nothing, and you'll be happy"

    https://www.globalresearch.ca/own-nothing-happy-being-human-2030/5728960

What is curious is this comment:

The Great Reset entails a transformation of society resulting in permanent restrictions on fundamental liberties and mass surveillance as entire sectors are sacrificed to boost the monopoly and hegemony of pharmaceuticals corporations, high-tech/big data giants, Amazon, Google, major global chains, the digital payments sector, biotech concerns, etc.

And Biden just announced a major role for Google executive in his administration

    https://libertyhub.com/biden-administration-looks-to-give-major-role-to-google-executive/

Here is Sky News Australia speaking about the Great Reset on November 14th.

Tech isn't there yet to automate our economy. I heard that Walmart takes robots out of stores and replaces them with humans. I don't think tech is ready to automate our world yet, if ever.

Yeah, the restrictions on liberty and unrestrained monopoly are why this agenda is going to go over like a lead balloon in countries that support liberty, like the USA. Maybe if they make it an opt-in.

COVID has changed how people accept having liberties removed. We are about to go back into lockdowns where a study just recently done that if small business is forced to remain closed for more than 6 months, 79% will close permanently.

Survey: 79% of CO restaurants would consider closing for good within 6 months if indoor dining is shut down again

People are accepting this as for the safety of us all. Ironically, this has ALL been exercised out right in front of us during Event 201 that showed exactly how to get people to conform during a pandemic. This exercise was in partnership with the WEF → https://centerforhealthsecurity.org/event201/

I had a few involuntary stays in the psych ward many years ago. I couldn't leave until I got better. I would say I was uniquely ready for those stay so things went smoothly. It didn't go so well for some of the others though.

My point was that people will accept a temporary reduction of liberties, but not a permanent one.

I also observed that there was a whole underground economy in the psych ward. People were stealing supplies and trading items even though they could ask for supplies at the nurse's station. I couldn't understand it. But it's a warning for anyone who wants to implement a minimum standard of living.

Well, I think I would be better off under The Great Reset, but I don't think everyone would agree that they would be better off. Which is why I'm hesitant to support it.

Well, I can appreciate your honesty. If you do not own anything and or have debt, the great reset will absolutely work for you. If you own a house, property or other items, those items become assets of the state.

The Left seems to be licking their lips hoping to use the Coronavirus pandemic as an excuse to boldly implement their policies with a "Great Economic Reset".
If the recent past is any indication, I suspect mostly this is a PR thing, to drum up the necessary impetus and momentum, and the real reality would likely involve very high levels of government stimulus, just throwing money out there, and not really caring so much where it comes from.

If your government keeps spending money (budget deficits), eventually whoever is in charge is going to push austerity.

You people were warned about this.

older thread: If we run deficits now, it means cuts in the future

Spending on welfare programs would probably come at a high cost. But the tools (the Fed and monetary policy) of our current system are no longer able to stimulate the economy enough to pull us out of recessions.

People need to better understand how those tools work to be able to understand what they can and cannot do. It isn't magic.
There is still fundamental underlying economic laws that can't be overcome.

Probably the vast majority of people who talk about the Fed coming to the rescue have almost no clue how that actually works. They just assume the Fed can solve any economic problem, and that any economic problem requires a reaction from the Fed. Both of which are obviously untrue.
All the media clamor that "the Fed needs to do something" probably diverts attention away from other issues that need to be dealt with. Almost with the unspoken assumption that the job of solving economic issues is mainly the job of the Fed.

Classical Keynesianism requires that government save up enough money during good times to be able to spend it during the bad times.
(And remember, "the Fed" is not really "the government" so it's not really their job to do this. Maybe a little too complicated and confusing to fully get into here)

I have a strange feeling that rather than this "Great Reset" wiping out everyone's debt, rather everyone's debt might get harder to pay back, and people will basically be turned into debt slaves.

This is a possibility we do have to keep in mind.

Neither Communism nor Socialism exist per se anywhere in the world. Not even China where individuals may own housing but not buildings!

Both ideologies had as their Basic Premise that the government owns the Means of Production. Which is not entirely the case in China because both government and companies can buy and own the premises and equipment necessary. There are entities who provide the manpower whilst the government provides the workshops&machinery.

There are also Most Certainly a great number of Chinese multi-millionaires! In fact, around 4.4 million ...

And the usage of the word socialism in the US also makes for laughter elsewhere. Definition of socialism (other than the US) = a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

The concept of "ownership" as defined in China (from here):
