First, I am Jewish. Many Jewish people are Doctors, Lawyers, and Professors. I am not -- I have Asperger's Disorder. I am not suffering, but I do not have ability to succeed. My parents help me. My Jewish therapists help me. Chabad Rabbi welcomes me to his classes. No one has treated me as an outcast. Traditionally Jewish people help poor and disabled members of the community. Scandinavia and Canada also help all people in need. In USA, the Society rejects people who need help.
Re: Who does have a reason to be anti Semitic or be hostile toward any group of people simply because they were born into a particular religion, race or ethnic group? It's a self destructive waste of energy. Re: You have frequently referred to your disability to the point that I wonder if you are letting it define who you really are. You are bound to have other interests and abilities such as writing on this forum so rather than thinking of yourself as someone with Aspergers disorder who writes, try thinking of yourself as a writer who happens to have Asperger's. That's just one example and maybe not a very good one of how you can work to change your self image and maybe feel better about yourself. As a writing project, have you considered writing a note/letter to your parents, therapists, Rabbi and others who have helped you to thank them for their kindness? These ideas are, of course, just well intended suggestions from someone with very limited knowledge about your situation and worth what you paid for them. Good luck...
What I mean is that Jewish lawyers, doctors, professors, and definitely rabbis do not reject fellow Jews who can not succeed in life. Middle class Americans mostly reject their fellow citizens who need help.
Antisemitism has lost any real meaning as a term. Disagreement is often what it is defined as. I've been called it many times for pointing out cultural if not religious issues in which I feel too many (not all) Jews have an improper attitude and means of conduct against white Christians, specifically in politics and social advocacy. It should be obvious that nobody is beyond criticism and it's especially glaring to see those with no end of criticism of white Christians draw a no-go zone around Jewry and other groups, especially if that criticism comes from those of white Christian background. This kind of nonsense is causing serious strife. Who the heck defines what a Jewish person is, anyway? Jews can't even agree. At what point is it antisemitism and what point is it not, depending on one's ancestry? My DNA says I'm about 1% Jewish and have several dozen Jewish cousins on 23andme. Does that mean I can play the antisemitism card?
You should be proud of who you are regardless. Chabad guys aren't all that bad. I tend to have a lot of respect for the Orthodox Jewish community. They bow to no modernist movement and they stick to their guns.
Any rabbi that rejects a Jew due to their not meeting some arbitrary standard of social standing is no real rabbi. If you ever encounter it (again?), ask them to justify it in the Torah or writings of the Sages and watch them trip over their stupidity.
No Rabbi has ever rejected me for my Autism and lack of success. Most Jewish Communities take care of their poor people.
I respect work and willpower of many Jewish people who are doctors and lawyers. I am still proud of being an Aspie -- I have been a patient since 1992.
All doctors and lawyers did enormous work which took great willpower. All Aspies are unique -- not just me.
And most criticism of Israel that has nothing to do with anti-semitism is labeled anti-Semitic, as a defence mechanism, especially when it comes to the treatment of Palestinians.
the Jews are a hard working and proud people, they do not like laziness as much as any other successful group in America.
Are familiar with "The Trick"? EXCERPTS "“Well, it’s a trick, we always use it. When from Europe somebody is criticizing Israel, then we bring up the Holocaust. When in this country people are criticizing Israel, then they are anti-Semitic..... And it’s very easy to blame people who criticize certain acts of the Israeli government as anti-Semitic, and to bring up the Holocaust, and the suffering of the Jewish people, and that is to justify everything we do to the Palestinians.”CONTINUED Shulamit Aloni https://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/PO1906/S00076/dont-be-caught-out-by-the-trick.htm Another quote that addresses the frequent and fraudulent accusations of anti Semitism is: "An antisemite used to be someone who hates Jews; nowadays an antisemite is someone Jews hate.” - Gilad Atzmon, Jewish musician and author, 2011
I like that last quote but we must add the caveat that while Israel does hide behind claims of anti semitism, anti semitism is still a problem. There are also plenty of “woke” authoritarians who hide behind empty claims of sexism and racism. Some of them claim “black people cant be racist” and that it is wrong to call black people out if they treat others poorly or say bigoted things against people of other races. Israel defenders do the same with Judaism when treating Palestinian badly and saying bigoted things about them.
You are totally wrong! You wrote: “I have no reason to be anti-Semitic”, but let me prove why you have more 1000 reasons to be anti-Semitic. The only reason I am not anti-Semitic – because I am a Jew too. I spent countless time on the internet arguing against racism and Antisemitism, but I know I was wrong. Racism and Antisemitism can be a fantastic medicine against inferiority complex or against feeling of failure. Just imagine – maybe yours Asperger's Disorder is because some vicious actions of some bloody Jews? Maybe you didn’t succeed in school because Soros/Marx or other Jew? Window program is crushing – because Gates (the Jew) wants more money. A girl rejected you? Because she is Jewish and she hates non-Jewish men. I would be much happier if I could blame all my faults on Jews.
Jewish people, like every ethnic group are very divers. Many Jewish people succeeded as lawyers, doctors, and entrepreneurs. They work for the good of all Humankind. Sadly, I have little to be proud of myself -- It is almost impossible for an Aspie to succeed. I am not a doctor -- I am a patient since 1992.
At least you have an excuse for not being a doctor - you are an Aspie, but me??? A Jew and not a doctor or a lawyer or entrepreneur! No excuse - pure disgrace!
I am a housekeeper to my parents. I do not work. I am somewhat proud of being a psychiatric and psychological patient since 1992.
Maybe I missed your point but I can think of no constructive reason to dislike a person or group of people based solely on their different skin color, religious and or ethnic background. I quickly learned in the US Military that the only difference between people that really mattered was blood type. Long before I decided to walk / hitch-hike from Stonehenge to Babylon I had an interest in different religions, cultures and customs. Some of them along the way were more appealing to me than others but all offered something from which I could learn and appreciate. In addition to other Jews who have been instrumental in my happiness, I am grateful to have a Jewish brother-in-law who is willing to introduce and share rituals that are different from those with which I was most familiar. Perhaps it is because I do not have an inferiority complex and have succeeded in accomplishing most of the many things I have chosen to undertake that I am not resentful of others. On the other hand, I take full ownership of my failures and regrets and by attempting to blame someone else, I would only be deceiving myself. Thanks,
