Joe Biden's national security team is headed by Michelle Flournoy as Defense Secretary and Tony Blinken as National Security Adviser. Both have shuffled back and forth between the Pentagon and hawkish think tanks funded by weapons companies, banks and oil giants.

In 1997, Flournoy authored the Pentagon's Quadrennial Defense Review, which declared the right of the United States to intervene militarily to secure "uninhibited access to key markets, energy supplies and strategic resources."

He's forgiving my student loans, giving me free Healthcare and now AOC wants to pay people to stay home from work.

Easy days are coming up, I'm not complaining.

No he's not. It's $10k for student debt after community service. Obamacare is not free. AOC is just party hack.

You need to read his website, after 20 years of payments the rest is forgiven and with Obama's IBR program you only have to pay a fraction of the bill if not just have it deferred for 20 years.

    Mine keeps getting deferred.

Thanks for the free college lefties now go pay your taxes to support me while I drink more wine.

That's not what he's actually going to do. It doesn't matter what his website says. Taxes also fund public schools.

Democrats have to lie more to get elected. They have different voters. They can't run on austerity, deregulation, free trade and corporate subsidies. That's why Biden ran on platitudes, cleches and 'Trump bad.'

There should be no student loan program anyway.

Yes there should. People need to race through college to get a degree without needing to wait and worry about earning money before getting a degree.

I learned the hard way that pay as you go is a disaster.

I didn't have to pay much to get my degree at all.

    You were lucky then.

The only question about Biden is if he will forgive it all or a portion and whether he will go through congress or do it by executive order.

Not lucky. Smart. I had a full ride academic scholarship the first two years I was in college. My parents paid for the third year. I and two of my sisters only took three years to get our bachelor's degrees. We didn't fiddle around with worthless courses.

Can't do that anymore as those worthless classes are now required.

"Biden has said he would forgive $10,000 in student debt for all borrowers, and the rest of the debt for those who attended public colleges or historically Black colleges and universities and earn less than $125,000 a year.....

....Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Warren in September called on the next president to forgive $50,000 in student loans for every borrower as soon as he entered the White House. In an interview earlier this month with The.Ink, Schumer said Biden could cancel the debt “with the pen as opposed to legislation.”"

    https://www.cnbc.com/2020/11/21/can...t-debt-without-congress-experts-weigh-in.html

So somewhere in between and no community service requirement and on top of that let's make it racist. That $125,000 is double the median income. The average 4 year degree student debt is just under $30,000. So why don't the graduates take just $10,000 of the difference between the median income and what they earn for three years and pay it off? They will make upwards of a million more in income over their lifetime than someone who did not graduate from college, why should the latter pay for the formers ability to out earn them by double?

Too bad Hoover is dead and couldn't run this year. He would have been your ideal candidate.

Correct. Tuition should be cheap enough at colleges, universities, and trade schools that tuition support is unnecessary.

If there were no student loan programs tuition would not be remotely as high because colleges would have to compete for students on a price basis rather than simply jacking up tuition and adopting a "screw the government for the money" attitude.

You don't know I suppose that much of FDRs New Deal was based on programs Hoover had already put into place or proposed.

Student loans, grants, and scholarships have helped university tuition becoming a tax on young people, indeed anyone who would try for advanced job training. There is obvious truth to what has become a backdoor way of states getting money from the feds, from hapless (mostly young) people trying to get an education, and their parents.

Perhaps you don't know Roosevelt used New York as a test bed for federal programs.
