I suppose you're referring to Pfizer's vaccine. Saying that it's made by a US company is painfully superficial and false. It's a cooperation between German company Biontech (subsidised by German tax money) and Pfizer. In January, scientists from Biontech started development of a possible vaccine. The cooperation with Pfizer started in March; it's a German-American collaboration.
We shouldn't simplify these things.
