How is that relevant? Good Lord man look at those people's resumes. When was the last time any of them were right about anything?

    So.

You don't know how politics works.

I live in Maine. One of the best senators we ever had was George Mitchell. We get pollution from coal plants, we used to get a lot of it. You have to be careful if you fish, you could get poisoned.

Mitchell saved up political IOUs for over 20 years. Just before he retired he cashed them all in to get the Clean Air Act passed. Which dramatically reduced the pollution we get from coal plants.

How long did it take women to get the vote, workers to get Unions, Blacks to get basic human rights?

It is a wildly imperfect system that does almost nothing fast.

Do you think Flynn will accept the pardon? Nevermind.

    Ask Trump. He pardoned him.

    Pretending you're lost isn't a good look.

Yeah, I say the same thing about my boss. He doesn't get a thing right, on a daily basis. Unfortunately, the company doesn't agree with me.

Nobody cares about your partisan opinion. What we care about is experience. That you would salute a Mickey D burger flipper if Trump made him SoD is your problem. We'll stick with the professionals.

Wrong on every count. And professional screw ups don't make things better. Witness Libya.

Okay, garyd. You're the boss. Lol.
Yep, we should have put a campaign donor in charge of Libya. And a family member in charge of Israel. And hookers in charge of government cheese. Smh.

We should have left Libya alone but that apparently was too hard for your professionals to figure out.

Hindsight is 20/20. That doesn't mean we ignore qualifications for a job and install our son in law.

But the son in law has done a much better job. Unless you have some sort of problem with peace as opposed to bullets.

That's your opinion. It's not necessarily correct, and it doesn't matter. Sometimes the rookie outperforms the veteran. That doesn't mean a team full of rookies wins the World Series. Quite the opposite.

But a team full of veterans doesn't always manage it either or the Yankees would have won every pennant since Steinbrenner.

That is the way we bet our money, though. And Steinbrenner did quite well.

So did San Francisco and the Cardinals with far smaller budgets.

And the '91 Series was a duel between two 1990 last place teams. Baseball is a great sport. Now THAT was the year to bet your money.

(Steinbrenner liked to flaunt his money. The big budget was the point.)

CNN reports, "A senior US official said that the Biden team will be given access to a secret server containing sensitive information related President Donald Trump's more controversial conversations with foreign leaders on a need-to-know basis and the Trump administration is prepared to share any information that they deem to be relevant to their future decision-making process."

Will that include the disclosure of what was said, and what, if anything, was agreed upon when Trump had a highly secret conversation with Vladimir Putin in Helsinki in July of 2018. With the exception of interpreters, no one else was present at that meeting, no advisors to either Trump or Putin and, obviously, no press.

Trump has never told Americans what was discussed at that meeting. Why? Trump has never told his key advisors (secstate, secdef, NSA) what was discussed at that meeting. Why?

Putin and, we can assume, Russian intelligence and key advisors know what was discussed at that meeting, but not American advisors and not American intelligence. We can only guess.

We do know -- from the destruction of the Iranian nuclear deal to Trump's retreat in the Middle East to his efforts to isolate America from its traditional allies to his ongoing efforts to damage American democracy -- that Trump has done many things that pleases Putin to no end.

So, maybe it is time for acting President Biden to become familiar with that highly secret conversation that Trump has kept from the American people, his closest advisors, and American intelligence.

Maybe Biden will let us in on it.

Trump's dwindling fan base is doing all it can to avoid the issues of this thread. For that reason it is a good time to review what was said in the opening analysis.

Acting President Biden is putting together a foreign policy team with decades of experience. Key lines from the unveiling of Biden's top national security and foreign policy team

Biden said it was a team that will provide the intelligence he needs to hear, not the intelligence he wants to hear. "It's a team that reflects the fact that America is back, ready to lead the world. They embody my core beliefs that America is strongest when it works with its allies," Biden said.

President Trump has fired secretaries of state, secretaries of defense, national security advisors, directors of intelligence, directors of the FBI, and directors of homeland security for providing intelligence he did not want to hear. He has replaced them with political sycophants with little or no experience, but they tell him what he wants to hear.

Trump scorns views that are different from his own. As a consequence, he has the highest turnover rate of any President. Tracking turnover in the Trump administration

That is why America has become isolated. Under President Trump, we no longer have allies. The leaders of our former allies want nothing to do with Trump.

President Trump continues his assault on American democracy by attacking the very basis of that democracy, free, unfettered elections. "Our case STRONGLY continues, we will keep up the good fight, and I believe we will prevail!" Trump tweeted.

Trump is the first -- and most likely the last -- President to choose Twitter to make his outrageous official Presidential statements. Twitter is one-way communication. Trump uses Twitter because no one else is around, no reporters, no White House staff, and, most importantly, not the American people.

A President is in serious trouble and is highly vulnerable due to his own activities when he is too embarrassed to face the American people. Trump has not faced our reporters' questions in twenty-three days.

Happily, President Trump will be gone in less than two months. He is a lame duck, and it no longer matters what he says or does. Few will listen to him. Will he concede? Who cares?

Many are looking forward to Jan. 20 and a return to sanity. As one person put it, "We all long for the time when politics will be boring again."

What's to avoid it's the same old crap you always post praise for the moron the gave us a resurgent Iran and let the Russians back into the Middle East. Praise for back to America on a suicide mission. The only thing more predictable than you is drought in a desert.

"Decades of Experience" - that is the part I worry about - the one's with experience are the ones that got us into this messed up situation.

"Ready to lead the world" - Lead it where ? we have been setting a very bad example the last number of decades.

One possible place for Optimism is possibly calming down the Iran situation- we shall see.

Biden going to have to so some serious ass kissing to get us back on some of the VIP lists we have been booted from .. the world was rather happy to exclude us in many respects.

Big Blunders Trump made in this respect - in particular with Iran - waging economic war with the entire world - while at the same time having a bit Trade war with China .

wont even be able to begin to address some of these issues until Covid out of the way.. and the resulting economic Tsunami that is coming when normal is restored.

    This is surreal!

Yesterday there were 183,500 new cases of the coronavirus. Yesterday, 2,322 Americans lost their lives to Covid, and we are averaging over 2,000 deaths per day. Because Thanksgiving is regarded as a super spreader event by medical experts, matters are expected to get far worse in two to three weeks. United States Coronavirus: 13,245,267 Cases and 269,508 Deaths - Worldometer

So, Trump decides to issue a proclamation encouraging Americans to gather for Thanksgiving.

“I encourage all Americans to gather, in homes and places of worship, to offer a prayer of thanks to God for our many blessings,” he said in a proclamation.

Under the circumstances it is quite clear Trump has lost his mind.

Or, because he has nothing to lose, Trump has decided to become the biggest jerk on the planet as he holes up in the residence.

After twenty-three days Trump finally answered a few questions from reporters on Thanksgiving Day!

As if anyone will be listening. Trump is so ridiculously transparent.

Biden as been as open as any acting President could be. Which President do you prefer?

Trump's fans are speculating on the damage Biden will do.

Trump's critics report the damage Trump has done, and his fans cannot challenge any of it because it is reality. Proof of that is contained in this thread.

No doubt Trump's followers can appreciate the difference.

Biden can suck it on his gun control lies (he says assault weapons only belong on the battlefield, but supports bans that let the cops keep theirs), but he still got my vote to help fix the damage Trump has done to our standing in the world and to the damage done to the soul of our nation. I voted Republican down ballot for my state of Missouri. Keep it nice and red and against gun control that ensures only the state gets the guns worth a damn in a shootout.

It'll be interesting, in the era of fatuous identity politics. I mean they weren't allowed to criticise Obama .. for ANYTHING. He could have eaten kittens and tortured puppies and they would have praised him for it. You know how it goes for racists .. the skin tone is what matters!

I'm guessing they'll be able to fall back on the white male thing if/when Biden ****s up.

He's gone, so any sulking he does on the way out the door is utterly irrelevant. You can't keep pretending Trump matters forever .. well, unless you love him of course. Or maybe you've come to rely on him as scapegoat for ... well, everything!

Meantime, let's keep the sharpest and most critical focus on the NEW GUY :)
