All depends on what infection rates do after this holiday.
It's sort of how Chis Christi suddenly became a believer in the seriousness of Covid after he spent 3 days in ICU - it's all fun and games
with numbers until you or a loved one catch it.

Pretty damn hard to do a physical assessment via a picture on a computer screen! Does ANYONE believe a "vaccine" will bring some people back down to the real world? Big fat NOOO! Come the first reported cases post-vaccine (gleefully reported 24/7 by the "media") and it's back to square one, "DO SOMETHING! DO ANYTHING! SAVE US!". Covid has been the greatest gift to budding authoritarians since "Das Kapital".

It's cute you think only those on the right are shirking pandemic protocols. No blindness like the partisan type.

It's like seeing a bunch of people run with their heads cut off like chickens. And it's kind of hilariously funny, if it weren't serious. People's constitutional rights(in their private homes, 4th amendment violation) cannot be trampled just because these politicians haven't read the constitution.

Thank you for proving my point.

Indoctrinated? Subservient? Bullshit. We simply have enough brain cells to understand the science, and enough care for others to want to protect them as well as ourselves, two things that the right apparently lacks.

Your personal freedom should not constitute a deadly risk to others. When you value personal freedoms over public responsibility, you get neither.

I'm "on the right" and wear a mask so again, your partisan lumping of everyone into one basket, fails.

I don't doubt the science it's the politics that are questionable. Theoretically if everyone is doing what they are supposed to do there would be no surge, right? I think the virus is so over politicized nobody knows the truth except those who control how it is reported.

I wear a mask and keep my distance and do just about everything else. However, the word "science" has become the most over worked word in the English language. Anytime some wants to convince someone, they claim they are following the science and other people aren't. At best the "science" is trial and error. "Yea that appears to work and that doesn't, until they find out that neither works".

My favorite example is coffee. I will drink a lot of coffee this week because it is good for me. Next week it will be bad for me and I need to stop drinking it until it becomes good for me again.

How arrogant on your part to assume you know anything about me.

I was sincerely trying to help another user. Be nice or just butt out, please.

I lived in such a rural spot for several years in my youth, in the hill country of Eastern Kentucky. My son was born there, and when my water broke and contractions began, I had to drive myself 30 miles to the hospital. I definitely sympathize with that problem. Not fun.

    Sorry for your struggle.

No need. This is where we want to be . I wouldn't trade this life with anyone. The problem with the left, is that they think in terms of one size fits all. We are all different with different needs and different desires.

Shut downs bring their own set of problems, which should be obvious to everyone by now.

Bullshit. There have been conflicting details over the months, explained here:

    https://www.ucsf.edu/news/2020/06/4...s-heres-science-behind-how-face-masks-prevent

However, the basic science is not in question:

    https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/more/masking-science-sars-cov2.html

I don't recall a single person ever claiming that protests or post-election celebrations in big crowds are not dangerous, however, if you look at pics or video footage, nearly all of the protesters and celebrants were at least wearing masks. Compare that to the motorcycle rally in Sturgis, or any of the dozens of Trump rallies this year, or events at the White House that we know led to infections among attendees. If you're trying whataboutism here, that analogy fails.

    Nothing authoritarian about that.

Are not the majority of mask refusers righties? Mostly Trump supporters, following his example? Did I say "all"? If so, my apologies for generalizing, but seriously, do you really want to challenge the assumption that it is mostly righties refusing to mask up?

There isn’t. He’s not going to force anyone to take it. It will be distributed to the states and the states will be in charge of how its distributed within its borders. More federalism in action, not authoritarian

Which is why I am a strong advocate for the Trump vaccine and will get the shot(s) as soon as it’s available to me.

I'm talking about the name, XX. Trump didn't develop the vaccine.

You know who were notorious for putting their names on everything? Egyptian pharaohs. They also claimed to be sent by the gods. Lots of similarities between the politics of Trump and Ramses II, well, except for the fact Ramses was incredibly successful.

People thought the pharaohs were gods. I see the same type of adoration among Trump supporters.

I disagree with your assessment that it's the left that sees a "one size fits all" mentality. There is a lot more diversity on the left, is there not?

I understand wanting to remain in a rural location. It's quiet, isn't it? And you can see the stars on clear nights. I have to drive up into the mountains for that.

Where is the freedom in risking the health and lives of yourself and your loved ones? Or even that of strangers? That isn't freedom, it's selfishness and a complete lack of consideration for others. Is wearing a mask really such a big effing deal that you're willing to risk possibly killing someone? Seriously?

The only way Joe Biden can "lock down" the country is to exercise powers he does not have, without any authority give to him by the constitution or Congress

That is, he will have to actually act like the authoritarian/dictator the left believes Trump to be.

    You said that before.
As I said before - I caught it, So did my wife, And everyone at work. And their wives.
I had a fever for two days. Two people had a sniffle
Does this mean we can go back to fun and games now?

It was also very arrogant of you to state that it's the domain of the "right wing" to shirk pandemic protocols. After a summer of leftist riots and 10's of thousands standing shoulder to shoulder in cities around the country, "celebrating" Biden's "win".
