There are going to be a lot more pardons. They are an implicit admission of criminality. But there is a silver lining. If Trump gets hauled into Federal court, his people won't be able to plead the Fifth, after they've been pardoned. They can go to jail for not testifying, or for lying. A Trump guy not lying? You wouldn't want to be in their shoes. Interesting thing, Giuliani has asked for several pardons, not just himself. He wants them for his family and his own lawyer. Whatever the outcome, his place in history is just another crook.
Pardons arent meant for the innocent. They're meant to counter the innevitable injustices inherent in the bureacracy of an imperfect system. Case in point- Flynn. Flynn was asked if he met with Russia. Flynn assumed he was being asked if he met with Russia in secret, as he had just finished meeting with them on public record and there wouldn't be any honest purpose in verifying that meeting, so he said 'no.' Flynn wasn't lying, but it was technically a false statement and a crime. He was pardonned because there was no criminal intent nor any actual wrongdoing.
He wasn't simply asked if he met with him he asked if he had business dealings with him he said no. this was a lie he had met and had been working with the Russian government at the time when he was hired by the Trump administration this is a violation of federal law. doing contract work for a foreign government requires being registered as a foreign agent with the federal government he had been working with the Russian government prior to being hired to the Trump campaign and had continued to do so even though he lied and claimed that his work for the Russian government had ended. he ended his registration as a foreign agent despite still working with the Russian government. He then lied to the FBI and to the Trump campaign (according to Trump) and was illegally given employment as an advisor to a political campaign which is illegal (no oneagent is allowed to work for a political)
I have not watched TV tonight except "Dog" the bounty hunter.....Did you make the thread? I'm think a link is due and simply a courtesy to the forum here. Simple expectation, no ?
Is there any kind of ruling about 'proactive pardoning'? Why, exactly, are Rudy and the Trump kids needing a pardon?
