I think there's a Rothschild on the Top 1000 richest people. Only he's about 800
and not even related to the old dynasty. That dynasty BTW comes in at about
1400 on the top richest list. Nothing to sweat over - the Jew's aren't taking over
the world - these days it's the Chinese, and there's not many Chinese Jews.

 

The Space Race in the 20th century was a Cold War propaganda campaign. It was all about claiming the bragging rights and there have been no substantial scientific discoveries to speak of. Understandably, China and Japan have started the new Space Race in Asia to claim technological superiority over their rivals. What is going on in space is not purely scientific.

I don't doubt the City of London and its monetary interests, had a lot to do with the wars of the last hundred plus years. We would never have gone into WWI if it wasn't for Britain and its manipulation with the sinking of the Lusitania. I wouldn't pay too much attention to the list of wealthiest people, because many refuse to disclose their wealth. For example; I don't see any of large Greek ship owning families on it, yet the Greek merchant fleets surpass' even China.

The Rothschilds certainly are rich, but the dynasty that made the ruling Rothschild a power is long gone. The wealth is spread across the many members of the family.

Space mining is integral to the (distant) future prosperity of all of humanity. Hopefully we can keep in mind that there's enough 'out there' for all and avoid fighting over it. If not, well at least it's likely to mostly be an automated war. Drones vs drones.

 

I've written a story where they try to bring an asteroid from the belt to Earth orbit and naturally it goes wrong.

Totally impossible of course, not even a good story really.
