Trump's Mar-a-Lago neighbors don't want him to move there. They may be able to stop him, too.

Ahhhh. Even if there's no end date, contracts have an end date! Where did you get your law degree? You should demand a refund.

He signed the contract. It doesn't matter if he remembers. That's why we write things down and sign them when we enter a contract. This is pretty basic stuff.

    Yup.

The Courts will "figure it out".

And, until then, Lil' Donnie will have squatter's rights.

One easy way to stop him moving in - Have Cyrus Vance Jnr set up office in the foyer :p

Well, he's not allowed to make changes without authorization, which the secret service will need.

In further reading, some of the residents have said they are fine with having Trump as a neighbor, as long as it's not at Mar-a-Lago. The county voted for Trump in the election.

    Interesting.

It looks like you know an awful lot about the “being passed around” thing.

The Trump haters here seem to be missing the point, they're so caught up in trying to spin this to fit their narrative of "orange man bad".

Trump's neighbors don't have a problem with Trump. As blue as the county is, they voted for Trump, too. It's the traffic, media, security, and various related headaches surrounding his Mar-a-lago trips which are concerning some residents.

Plus, all it takes is one nasty vindictive leftwing kook to start a lawsuit.

But sure, keep trying to spin this into "everyone hates Trump", because when have some of you ever let facts get in the way of your narratives....

More to the story..... Rumor now is that the neighbor complaining has something to do with thinking the SS uses radioactive waves for security which will make people sick. I'll be curious if this part of the story hits the news.

I'm picturing the nutty brother in Better Call Saul.

Sounds like the Trumps are rethinking the permanent stay at Mar-A-Lago after all, although you'll be hearing some pathetic excuse about Trump not being happy with the Melanie-led renovations as the reason

    https://pagesix.com/2020/12/28/donald-melania-trump-eye-palm-beach-homes-near-mar-a-lago/

Still expecting that Georgia/Florida border wall to start soon after Biden comes in...

The Trump's will be welcomed with open arms if they decide to go the route of buying a Palm Beach home.

And despite your attempt to spin this, your own article quotes a source as saying “Melania and Trump are talking to brokers about buying a house in Palm Beach, or nearby, as the living space at Mar-a-Lago isn’t big enough, and there could be some potential conflicts.” I had never realized the Mar-a-Lago apartment was only 2000 square feet. As a permanent residence that really is not very large, especially not for people of their stature and wealth.

    And girth, in one case....

You seem to be buying the spin... I'm not.... He's stayed there for dozens of weekends during his "presidency" with no problems... Suddenly now, it's not big enough.

    Sure......

Since I guess I need to state the obvious: Weekends and permanent residence are not the same.

Out of curiosity I looked up the size of Trump's former "permanent residence" the Trump Tower penthouse in NY, and it is 11,000 square feet. That's vastly larger than the 2,000 sq ft Mar-a-Lago apartment. His Seven Springs mansion is 28,000 sq ft. I can't find the size of his Bedminster villa, only that it is 2-stories.

So I'm sticking with the logical statement that the Mar-a-Lago apartment, at 2000 sq ft, is really not very large as a permanent residence, especially not for people of their stature and wealth.

Sorry, you're going to have to take your spin elsewhere. I (and Florida) are not interested.

That, plus the fact that he's not allowed to live there, per the contract.

Why do you find it so necessary and important to find some kinds of punishments for Donald Trump? Why so vindictive?

That plus the fact that he spent money having Melania renovate, until he was (re) informed of that..

Hell, I haven't even started looking yet.. handling the stuff in plain view is a full time job for the new DOJ...

Unrestrained looking will be fun too.

Better yet, ask yourself why people didnt care about Ronnie and the Bushes when they left?

    There's your answer...

Rich people bickering over zoning is always pathetic. Lawyers love it. They'll spend tens of millions trying to piss on each other of petty crap like HOAs from hell. His neighbors once went nuts because he flew an American flag. This is petty crap.

I hate HOAs. Taken to court twice by one - they never even got to trial.

I suspect the process server would have a hell of a time getting past secret service to serve an eviction suit citation.

To be fair, I feel that way a little bit about most presidents for a bit after they leave office. ;)

I think his point is that this board - geez, how do I put it? Over the past week or so we had three threads that I know of which asked "What SHALL we call the Trump supporters now?" - all of which have been deleted. I mean, I was pretty steady on this, every time Hilla opened her yap, I keep asking why wouldn't she just go away? Meanwhile, the LW-ers here in unison kept going "Why is the RW so obsessed with Hilla?" Well here we are and here you are. Trump is history, Let him fade away. I keep wishing Hilla would fade away as well, right into an AA center but I didn't get my wish there, so ...

I guess what I'm saying is that the LW had best be prepared for that same argument to be thrown back at them - why IS the LW so obsessed with Trump? Geck, I hope Trump goes away too because I shall be focusing my jokes on Joe and the Ho, and I don't need Trump distracting me.

We still haven't finished praising and criticizing Obama, regularly.

I've 22 days or so left where what Trump does is interesting to me.

What ex presidents do is interesting, but usually not for some time later. Obama isn't there, yet. Bush, Jr., is.

Our best ex-president, Jimmy Carter, is fun.

I'm afraid that the whataboutism is here to stay. It will just be changing flavor next month.

Simply because he's committed criminal acts that need to be accounted for.... I can't sum it up shorter than that.

Certainly he'll fade politically and socially... I can barely remember what he looks like myself, although I did get a look at a current driver swing yesterday from a distance..... Ugh....
