Every year, we keep hearing news reports about how this part of the world is "reforming" and "getting better", and yet the very next year there are still unbelievable things going on in that society.

I have no doubt that in another 10 years from now, we'll be reading about in the papers something else that's horrendous and unbelievable, that we didn't previously know existed, which they are now going to start getting rid of.

It is a wise choice because the majority of 9/11 terrorists were linked to Saudi Arabia, including Osama. Saudi Arabia further needs to root out terrorism from the country, which could take many decades to come. Saudi terrorists were mostly well-educated individuals, who blindly believed what they were taught in school. They were educated to become violent extremists in the school system.

You're just smearing entire countries with nothing to back it up.
    I'm mocking your reasoning.

I find it laughable you think they did not, while a simple google search proves that I am right.
    https://www.theguardian.com/world/2001/oct/14/afghanistan.terrorism5

    source it.

If found guilty of terrorism, than I would not know why an Islamic court would pronounce the death sentence.
They do that all the time, despite a massive group of ignorant Jews and Christians claim that Islam support terrorism.

Supply and demand created by the western christian elite. Do brush up on your history.

Oh please nothing.... since nothing compares to how white christian people committed genocide all over the globe, purging who ever who wouldn't bow down. Industrialized the war crime of genocide. Used concentration camps on at least 3 continents against civilians to let them die from hunger and exhaustion. Are the ones who invented WMD's like nuclear bombs and used them against civilian targets. Are the only ones who made the slave trade a global enterprise build on 1st class and 2nd class humans... that cultural heritage of racism is still alive and well in the US because of that.

Your examples are outshines by the sheer cruelty done by white Europeans... dating back to at least crucifying Jesus Christ, the son of God. Think about that when you celebrate happy baby Jesus day in a couple of days.

Your mockery is what is not backed up - so please do not project your failings on to me por favor.

The back up for my claim is that Pakistan is just as full of religious fanaticism as the US - and further - it could be argued that the influence of Religion on those in Power in Pakistan is as much as in the US.

You failed to address the argument on the table - and are now throwing unsubstantiated accusations in an attempt to avoid and divert attention away from the fact that - you have given no reasoning in support of your claim.

Nowhere in this gibberish do you make it apparent the "in Pakistan - Pence is already President."

Nope...I mocking your nonsens about how you claim how Pakistani think that Pence is already president.
    It remains unfounded.

You are confused - I did not claim that Pence was President of Pakistan - but I now see the source of your confusion.

I worked in Saudi for 18 months back in the late 90s ... as an American, I was pretty much treated like a first class citizen unlike the Sudanese, Egyptian and Filipino laborers .. they were treated and housed like slaves ...

I didn't know they had blasphemy laws in America
I didn't know American fundamentalists were seeking to overthrow Mexico
I didn't know fundamentalists were gunning down hundreds in Canada
I didn't know American school girls were afraid to go to school.

Look it up. It's the reason the Taliban wouldn't hand bin Laden over... that
and the attempt to present him as an innocent figure.

That's the Westboro Baptist Church people, a small group of irreligious nutcases.

And yeah, they're protected because without police protection, they'd be in danger when they demonstrate. I hate their message, but the First Amendment protects even abhorrent speech.

With what I put in quotation marks, it was made rather clear it was. Good to know you're back peddling with no other explanation.

Not backpedaling . You made a false claim - and were called out on it. I did not say that Pence was the President of Pakistan - nor imply it. Perhaps google "figures of speech" as a way to improve your understanding of more complex language.

That this quote is not correct, "The back up for my claim is that Pakistan is just as full of religious fanaticism as the US
    - and further - it could be argued that the influence of Religion on those in Power in Pakistan is as much as in the US."

No, America is not 'more fanatical than Pakistan'
Few countries are as bad as Pakistan.

Agreed - So then why did you claim that this was not true - that Pakistan was not as Fanatic as the US - as I was saying that Pakistan was at least as Fanatic as the US - and you said "Not Correct"

The discussion - in which you interjected - someone was claiming that the US was the country most likely to use a nuke. I disagreed, claiming that Pakistan is at least as fanatical as the US (regarding the Public) and stated that I would claim that these fanatics had more influence than in the US.

So - what do you have to say about which is more likely to use a nuke. and - where does Iran fit on this spectrum - more fanatical or less fanatical/extreme than in Pakistan ?

A friend and I sat in a canteen with fellow workers - a Syrian, Egyptian, Jordanian and a few other Arabs
from where I can't remember. I asked a question, "If you had just one atom bomb, what would you do with
it?" and they chorused, "drop it on America."
Now this was the Cold War. America had, what, 10,000 atom bombs, I told them. "What would America do
    in return?"
    "Doesn't matter." they said.
I turned to my friend and said, "Doesn't it make you afraid."?
If the Pakistan Taliban get the bomb I suggest it's 50/50 that they will use it. And in this order of target
    1 - India
    2 - Israel
    3 - America
4 - Europe (starting with Rome)

Think you have hit the nail rather squarely - a refreshing change - regardless of whether or not I agree.

Folks are all worried about Iran getting a nuke - and good that we stop proliferation - but, at the end of the day NKorea is less of a threat than Pakistan ... unless we start bombing them of course in which case all bets are off. -

Iran from this perspective is not so scary - as they are less fanatic than Pakistan - who already has them.

It is not at all surprising that religious extremist would speak as you say - this is what is dangerous about religious extremism. Killing in the name of God is justified - and if martyrdom - even better as one's status in the afterlife is enhanced.

Many Muslims however - are not extremists - and not fanatics - the danger is one getting into power.

Taliban is not in control of the Gov't in Pakistan - and things are very corrupt at the moment - which is good as such folks are governed by apatite's rather than emotions.

The military groups folks into 3 categories from a psychological perspective - one's ruled by apatite's - one's ruled by emotions - and one's who let logic and reason govern one's apatites and emptions.

You want folks from the "Emotion Bin" as soldiers - as these are the one's willing to sacrifice themselves for a cause.

I any case - while it may be comforting that this Regime is at it is - who is to say that there not some revolution down the road where a fanatic does come into power - some group who has an ideology similar to that of the Taliban - or one of the many other spawn of the extremist Ideology of El Saud.

But we are lovey dovy with El Saud at the moment - in a twisted Orwellian affair. And to make things even more obtuse - Israel is not part of the love fest.

Do you not find that something smells rotten in the state of Denmark ?
