    There are such things as "preventable cancer deaths" and "preventable heart attacks" etc. And if a company or President was responsible for knowingly ignoring dangers that caused those deaths they should be held responsible.

    Covid doesnt kill 2%. Lockdowns have killed nearly half of small business. So far.

    No, it cannot. How you choose to get off does not qualify you as an ethnic minority. You might as well be trying to make the argument that drug addicts and alcoholics are ethnic minorities too, which is silly. Personal choices and preferences are not ethnic character traits. Just stop.

    People that wear facemasks and practice social distancing are catching COVID so you’re going to have a really hard time making the case that Trump is liable for anything here.

    No one wears a face mask 24/7. However Trump has lied about the severity of the virus and is on tape having known the truth. He knowingly used his office and campaigns to downplay the virus and sell snake oil, causing much more virus spread than necessary. I am sure there are other things we can find on Trump by shaking the trees, but there is more than enough there to hold him responsible.

    It does if the state decides to persecute on the basis of sexual orientation, broadly speaking ethnic cleansing is the forced removal of a population. Or do you just want to derail the thread?

    I don't think people are blaming Trump for the disease. They are blaming him for the botched response to the disease. And they allowed their displeasure to be known on November 3rd.

    That is the essence.

    Herd immunity was obviously something that Trump glommed onto early. It gave him an excuse for doing nothing.

    As long as it was merely a gimmick for the Trumpster audience, it didn’t matter.

    But it may have become policy. Which is another thing altogether.

    Now all you have to do is show a significantly higher rate of infection among Republicans or that Democrats took a break on hating and distrusting him when it came to their health. Trump has no voice in California, how are they doing with Covid?

    100% agree. If govt had said we'd lock down for a specific and pre-determined amount of time and then re-open, and guaranteed that re-openning with a law, no one would have objected.

    Unfortunately, govt (especially ours) is not fond of committing itself to limits, and has not demonstrated itself to be worthy of trust without them.

    Cali had a very large homeless population - that was always going to be a disaster
    the lockdowns was where Trump REALLY f’ed up by not calling for lockdowns early so tracing could catch up and then by reopening too soon
