I didn’t say anything about Operation Warp speed, which did absolutely nothing for the cause of prevention or arresting the spread of the virus.

The concept of herd immunity was greeted with alarm by epidemiologists when it first surfaced. It was denounced, everywhere but in Trump world.

Yes, “herd immunity” was a political gimmick. Trump loved it. Because he could hide behind it.

Herd immunity was his excuse for not doing anything to prevent the spread.

So, while other countries shut down, bent the curve, and were able to reopen to a far greater degree than we were, our leader did nothing, denounced the idea of prevention, flaunted his own task force’s reccomendations. After the fact, he glommed onto this herd immunity idea.

The only people who ever promoted it are on parler, and the quacks that Trump surrounded himself with.

Trump tried to do it in April and got shut down by the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. As a result, you had 50 state governments handling COVID-19 in 50 different ways. Please tell us what would have been the “proper” way to tell 50 different states to all do the same thing about COVID-19.
