Mocking? Twas Not I who created that imagery. Perhaps a quick peek at the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel might refresh your memory?

If it's not mocking when you use the imagery why is it mocking when I do?

Following the teachings pf Jesus does not require one to believe the mythology created by the followers of Christianity.

Yes, I looked at #111, You are right, I said it but I was right too. You projected that Christians live in fear. I'll tell you what...... "Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world". Perhaps you "called" your self a Christian at one time and you lived in fear. Maybe that is why you are so confused.

So you think that you MUST believe in a mythological creature floating on a cloud otherwise you will be punished by being sent to a place that doesn't exist BUT if you do you'll be rewarded by being sent to a different place that doesn't exist.

You're calling anyone on this planet confused is an hilarious irony.

So you tell me what I think now? You think that I think you MUST believe in anything? Well, you said it.

No, you told me what you think.

You're just upset that I parrotted it back.

Oh but I've never told you what to believe. I think your conscious has you all confused. Leave me out of it.

People are funny that way. Ideas and beliefs become forced on us when we don’t agree with it.

I don't choose what ideas or beliefs I have. I can't decide to believe in something I don't find believable. Does that mean my own brain is forcing and compelling beliefs on me and is my enemy?

    *gasp*

Here again....I want to know how anyone forces beliefs on others. You don't HAVE to agree with anything I believe, but if you attack my faith.....we're gonna talk about it.
I think that's what you don't like. If you feel threatened, take it up with your conscience. Don't put it on me!.

If you follow the teachings of Jesus.....you will acknowledge who He said He is. The fact you say it is a myth tells me you don't acknowledge Him at all......that is fine by me.

I wasn't talking about you or Christians since I am one. I meant people in general. Christians are called to share what Christ did, but some take that as forcing it on others. Christianity was forced in the past though.
There are a few ideas I've thought were forced on me as well when they weren't. They just had the audacity to exist around me. lol

Perhaps you are talking of the Jesuit Missionaries and the Indians on this Continent. I've read accounts of that. You are a Christian, would you call those that tried to force membership into a Church Christians? Just a bit of history.... part of the Independence of Texas came about because the Government of Mexico tried to force Catholicism on those Protestants that settled the land.I don't see any Christian,s anywhere, using force to get someone to have a change of heart and accept the Good News of Jesus Christ......besides, it won't work.

When the proposal is accompanied by threat? Agreement has little to do with it.

HIM? HE walked on water? HE fed the masses with a single fish. HE rose from the dead...

What has any of the mythology to do with the actual teachings?
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you...or I will raise from the dead?

Some Buddhist mythology has the Buddha being spet from a bodhi tree. The myth of the virgin or womanless birth is common. It us used, of course, to deny the power and place of women.

That I recognize the mythology for what it is and why it exists has absolutely nothing to do with the teachings and the insistence that my failure to believe in the deification of a man is my path to hell shows how little you actually understand the teachings you claim to follow.

Ecclesiastes has a verse that says "God has set eternity in the hearts of men." He did with me anyway. Have a nice "dirtnap".

Dirtnap? Is that what you think happens when we die? No wonder you need a "god" to ease your fears.

Does a butterfly remember being a caterpillar?
Does a baby remember being a fetus?

Death is merely the next step in our evolutionary process. You and I have no more ability to comprehend what will happen next than a caterpillar can understand it will become a butterfly. While I understand I cannot comprehend the next I do my best to prepare by my thoughts and deeds in this life. It is no different for you except I don't need the comfort of an imaginary deity to "protect" me. I am protected by my knowledge, understanding, and discipline.

I do feel for you and those like you who are so fearful of what they cannot understand that they seek comfort in fanciful prayers to an imaginary "god."

How do you know your knowledge, understanding, and discipline will protect you, and what do you need protecting from? Why is the understanding and knowledge Christians receive referred to as nothing more than a dogmatic binky?

Yes, I was thinking of what was done to Native Americans, it was tragically wrong.
Mexico was wrong to try and convert protestants ( Mexico is always wrong lol).
...and I very much agree with your last sentence.

You over-estimated yourself. Christians believe that hell exist. You are more like someone jumping off from the top of a building yelling "why are you so afraid of me jumping down".

Christians' job is preach the gospel for others to have a choice. More often they do this out of love. They think that you will die when jumping off that height, instead of being afraid of your deed.
