What the heck is just fine? They've accomplished nothing but higher prices to US consumers and lost markets to our farmers.
What exactly is just fine? Your media master brainwashed you well.

China is in it to win it. They don't give a **** about diversity or genders or any of this other random stuff.

They want to win. That's all.

That happens when your oligarchs move your manufacturing base there.

On a per capita basis they are already quietly there. (Landmass is too small though, for them to ever be a superpower)

That's right. It used to be Japan that was going to overtake us, but they were just riding their trade surplus with us. When we moved it to China, Japan crashed and has never recovered. Soon we will move it again.

China is three hundred million moderately well off in the coastal provinces and another billion quite poor peasants further inland. The one billion are more of a drag on the Chinese economy than a help.

China is a pain in the ass to deal with. The assembly type of operations that China specializes will likely move elsewhere. There is a lot of latent potential for that sort of work in Vietnam and the Philippines. Neither threatens to sink our Aircraft Carriers, looses pandemics on us and robs us blind.

China treats other nations like they a crap put on this earth for China to exploit. With China's latest sneak attack on India in the Himalayas, the US is now helping India keep an eye on China’s military.
    https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/us-helping-india-spy-chinas-military-near-disputed-border

The Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement (BECA), allows gives India access to topographical, nautical, and aeronautical data to be used for Indian missile strikes. India’s Economic Times likes that the deal will give Indian missiles that "killer edge."

NATO recently released a report that recommended the alliance form a partnership with India to counter an increasingly lawless and belligerent Beijing that is rapidly becoming the world's biggest pain in the ass.

India, the US, Japan, and Australia form the informal alliance known as the Quad. The four countries participated in military drills together for the first time in over a decade off India’s coast.

All very true and somehow, they have convinced themselves that they and only they are the real Americans and only they should be allowed to govern. But history shows every time we let the right rule, our economy tanks.
    Why is that I wonder?

Just the direct cost was what, 28 BILLION cash payments to mainly corporate farmers?
But the radical right trumpers think that is a success!

You seem to have a poor memory of rather recent events. "Saint Ronnie" had been out of office years before China joined the WTO and the US normalized trade with China.

THE CHINA TRADE VOTE: A CLINTON TRIUMPH; HOUSE, IN 237-197 VOTE, APPROVES NORMAL TRADE RIGHTS FOR CHINA

So...you want Americans to research every product they buy to make sure it doesn't come from China, but you totally oppose any restriction or tariffs on Chinese goods so they can continue to flood our markets with their products?

    Eh?

Nobody is forcing them into poverty.

In the vast majority of instances, life choices do that.

Capitalism is set for YOU to thrive, but only if you want to. The average citizen in this country is now more educated (thus in more debt) yet dumber, has more access yet is less informed, and has more advantages yet is more lazy than ever before.

If you're any of those things in China, you starve.

If you're any of those things in the US, we just make life easier for you until eventually you are completely worthless and not good for much of anything. Then you end up in your 30s and 40s, in debt with a useless gender studies degree with no job prospects...

And then at that point, you realize you ****ed up so bad it's time for...

Revolution, comrade. Only way to fix your problems is to tear everyone else down to be equally worthless.

You see it now. Look how much socialism is accepted by the 20-35 year old crowd. Most, losers with no job prospects, massive debt, and no actual life skills. You can tell by the faces in the pictures. Lol

I think that any American company that outsources its manufacturing outside of the US should pay a 50% income tax on top of the existing corporate tax rate. That's something that it would be futile to attempt to pass on to the consumer.

Amen! We are a country that likes to shout "We're Number One" or "USA USA" at the drop of a hat, but when it comes to making personal choices to make/keep that true, we drop the ball. And we have large swaths of people who don't care about those less fortunate Americans - they would rather blame them for bad choices than help them up.

Yeah, the odds of the corporate wings of both parties holding their oligarchs accountable is virtually nil.

Give me just one case where protectionism works.

Of the 74 million Trumpist voters who have embraced America Firts, how many of them actually make an effort to buy American?
