First, I am in no way condoning Duterte's public blasphemy and Atheism -- that is Evil.

Politically is is a strong ruler -- much more confident then Trump. President Duterte imposed real penalties on those spreading Totalitarian Leftist ideology.

In USA, over 90% of Conservatives would fight for Free Speech of those who would take away their Free Speech. With Cancel Culture, USA, Canada, UK, and Australia became the most Totalitarian Nations of the World.

Hopefully, in 2014 or 2028, USA can elect a President like Duterte minus Atheism and blasphemy.

For cancel culture to be effective you have to convince the masses to support your view to the point they are willing to voluntarily do something about it. Anyone including yourself can be part of cancel culture if you like. As long as you do not break the law it is allowed. Both sides of the political spectrum use it and often organize to counter it. It seems more an expression of society than any type of Totalitarian oppression.

On an American campus 2020, anyone can be blacklisted for slightest disagreement. USA has much much less Freedom then Philippines.

2) Persecution of those who opposed Totalitarian Regimes in any way had been done legally -- within the legal framework of time and place.

Dictators tend to have a very high popularity among their people, while leaders in countries with multiple competing political parties tend to have lower approval ratings. In countries with dictators, their leaders are looked at less as employees who serve the public, and more like a parental figure, but for the whole country

I agree. Given that criticism of a dictator may be a crime, most people grow to accept the dictator as the only good.

Nevertheless, dictatorship of Leftist ideology in USA, Canada, UK, Australia is much more vicious and severe then many other dictatorships and monarchies throughout History.

Perhaps I'm out of the loop, but seldom are people 'cancelled' as a result of having to comply with a law. All the ones I've seen are cowardly or complicit entities getting rid of 'triggering' people simply to maintain an image- that is, on a voluntary basis, to appease the sn****akes.
