When did I bring up white privilege? Do you frequently feel the need to insert new arguments when you unable to defend your original point? As to white people not being able to experience racism, no person capable of complex through believes that. They can absolutely experience it but the end result is often very different. I have personally experienced it and I simply left the facility.

Impressive, you posted the case and still didn’t take the time to understand it. They did not touch on whether the discrimination against the gay couple was allowed but rather that the baker was being unfairly targeted by the commission. I bolded a few parts. It is strange that you support one type of obvious and direct discrimination against the gay couple but believe this hotel closing to all customers is too far. Telling. You like to scream “you’re wrong” and then post evidence that shows what was said is correct.

If they closed to all patrons then no, I would not care. If they said “blacks/whites/liberals/conservatives/homosexuals/heterosexuals/men/women” are the only group that is excluded then I would take issue with it.
Would you be upset if they closed during a BLM march?

No, as long as the policy treats everyone equally.

We had never discussed “whites not being able to be discriminated against” so I have ignored nothing
You do not comprehend the ruling if you think it did something other than what I stated
And I could care less what their actions do as long as they are applied evenly.

I would ask you to do ‘research’ but I am trying to get out of the habit of expecting the impossible.

Vote with your dollars. Don't stay there anymore. I'm sure they'll weep at the loss of all of your business.

Funny that you mention Trump's democratic roots, he was indeed a democrat in good standing his entire life, the moment he ran as a republican liberal fascists turned him into a racist, a misogynist and a Hitler LOL

On a more serious note, Trump is NOT a traditional republican, he is a common sense centrist whose guiding principle is "what's good for America, not a party" and who borrowed heavily from both Republicans on social/law/immigration issues and from "blue collar" democrats on economic issues. And that's exactly what terrified the **** out of democrats and made them resort to their all out thuggish war on Trump and his supporters.

PS it's not Trump actually, it is the dem party that "moved on", turned globalist, woke, anti-American and socialist, it no longer represents the interests of the working americans (aka the deplorables), it does not even pay lip service any longer, it takes this segment of the population for granted. Trump merely filled that void and brought the Republican party with them. It's a new republican party with a winning platform, whether you like it and recognize it as such or not.

Glad to see the you are making an attempt to gauge "what this thread is really about".

After reading several pages of off-topic posts consisting of "Clinton/Obama/FISA/Dems Bad" copypasta, I thought that maybe you had lost track of the actual topic.

Glad to see you back on-topic.

    Good lookin' out.

In any event, I disagree with your characterization of the Hotel Management as "scum".

I find their actions to be rather Patriotic.

In any event, I am glad to see your "contribution" to be somewhat on-topic.

^ It took some effort to post that stupid of message.

    1. Twice I posted the contract may allow canceling
    2. I stated I have no problem with the hotel canceling Proud Boy reservations and it probably a good decision for the safety of the hotel.

It would be hard for you to top the stupidity of your message. But my guess is that you'll try.

I am just going to respond to this bit — y’all cannot even win re-election for an incumbent president.

I don’t think anyone is scared of larper incels winning anything.

    LOL, grasping at straws much.

    1. Zero evidence on Russian interference came from illegal spying as Trump campaign was not involved and there was no Russia collusion, it was a hoax.

    2. Russian interference actually WASN'T proven, not a single Russian was found guilty in a court of law and clown Mueller with his tail between his legs dropped charges against a Russian company that showed up in court. LOL

    3. Even if Russian interference were to be proven, according to Mueller it had zero effect on the outcome of 2016 election.

You keep claiming breach of contract. No such breach occurred. By definition, doing something allowed by the contract is keeping the contract.

Sure, it doesn’t fit the legal or material definition of discrimination though.

Not only would I not care, I wouldn’t blame them.

So they can shut down because what employees want in your scenario and it is fine, but if they shut down because of what employees want in another scenario you suddenly cannot understand...

It is breach of contract on its face. An exclusion in written language would be an affirmative defense matter.

So if you cancel your reservation, as allowed with the contract, you are breaching the contract? Hm. I took contract law; this is the first I'm hearing that following the contract is a breach of contract.

Hmm... ignoring the election fraud issue for now, 98% negative media coverage, 4 years of non-stop lies, slander, violation of state election laws, Soviet style censorship, total suppression of information unfavorable to Biden was what it took...

Despite that, Trump, not Biden had huge coattails, republicans kept the Senate, won whopping 12 seats in the House, 43 State senators and 190 state representatives, lest we forget local elections. The dems were totally wiped out.

I looked over the hotel's website and even the steps to reserve a room up to the point of giving credit card info. There is NO link to any contract provisions or conditions. IF the provisions and conditions are stated only AFTER paying, such contract language is worthless. Restrictions and limitations have to be stated BEFORE paying, not afterwards.

One time I got into a huge refund battle over software. Only after I bought and was going to download did it have the long terms I had to first agree to. I refused to agree and demanded my money back. The store said "no refund for software." It took a while, but I won.

Neither party can add contract terms AFTER the contract is made. So the only way there is an enforceable contract for the hotel to unilaterally cancel a reservation would be if there is a "I have read the terms and conditions" with a link to those terms and conditions before authorizing the credit card charge or hold.

A more accurate example would be made if the reservation was made by the telephone. I've NEVER been told of terms and conditions for the hotel canceling the reservation, only terms for if I cancel. If these were phone reservations, there is no allowance to just cancel a reservation without it being breach of contract, even if the website had such terms since the room wasn't booked on the website the person never saw.

STILL posting Off-Topic (the same warmed-over copypasta) 4 pages later?:bored:

What does any of that have to to with the Topic of the Hotel and Proud Boys?

    Biden Landslided Trump.
And, You think that the "dems were totally wiped out"? :roflol:

    Good luck with that one.

Could you try to get back on-topic?
    Thx in advance.

Anyway, I still don't see what the big deal was about the Hotel's decision.

LINK to proof every Proud Boy who reserved a room agreed to such a contact you allege exists rather than keep ranting the same stupid message.

You claim it, so you prove it. If you think a contract exists against a party for a contract the party never saw or expressly agreed to prior to entering into the contract, you failed contract law. Do you even know what "expressly agreed to" means?

98% negative media coverage even though the largest news company literally had it’s journalists campaigning for him? Do people actually believe your made up claims? Is this typically a good debat strategy for you?

Again, you confuse conservatism with trumpism. One was removed like the cancer that it is. Conservatism has a place in this nation, just like liberalism does.

So you think the trumpets, will “win a war” when they cannot even win an election? And by your own claims they have already lost the media, the education system, the election system AND the legal system. That is a lot to overcome for larping incels.

The Hotel doesn't want the headache.
    And, I don't blame them.

Wearing their signature black and gold colors, large numbers of the group spent much of the afternoon of Dec. 12 drinking openly and chanting on the street in front of the hotel at 11th and E streets NW. They ranged in age from late teenagers to 50- and 60-year-olds, though most appeared to be in their 30s and 40s. Others filled the outdoor patio at Harry’s, the hotel bar, where they had gathered on previous protest weekends and on the Fourth of July. Harry’s closed midafternoon, but the patio and street in front of it remained crowded throughout the night. The repeated and growing presence of Proud Boys at the bar and hotel has unnerved some guests and workers, many of whom are Black and Hispanic and were intimidated by their presence, according to two employees who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

1.Harvard study: Trump's first 100 days in office, the tone of the news coverage of the president has been a whopping 80 percent negative. That was the first 100 days, the "honeymoon", it was all downhill from there. 98% negative coverage, censorship, lies, suppression of information favorable to Trump - this is an accurate description of the media coverage

    2. I don't confuse trumpism with conservatism. The elected down ballot representatives are all Trump/MAGA supporters, as is the entire Republican party. The Bill Kristol style of conservatism is dead. good riddance, long live MAGA republican party.

    3. like I said, 12 Republican Representatives, 45 State senators, 190 republican state representatives, the numbers speak for themselves.

    So I'm a liberal now I guess? That's a first.

Here's the bottom line, neither you nor I nor the government have any right to tell a private business when they will or will not be open. I would defend a hotel or restaurant deciding to close down during a gay pride parade for the sole reason of them not liking gays just the same as I'll defend this hotel's decision to close down for not liking Conservatives. (Or whatever arbitrary reason they publicly state). Just the same as I defend Christian bakeries for not wanting to bake cakes for gay weddings and I was doing that well before SCOTUS made a ruling. I don't play partisan games like that, right is right and wrong is wrong it doesn't matter if I happen to personally like it or not this go around.

Is this decision hypocritical? Hell yeah, and the media's response to this decision by this hotel is hypocritical as well as I've stated already. If this were a Christian hotel who decided to let their hotel be booked up during a gay pride fest then decide to close down on those days instead then there would be riots and the owners would be doxed and receiving death threats and it would be on CNN's front page within hours. That doesn't change my consistent stance on issues like issues like this, the media and society in general are hypocrites, not me.

We had a situation like this many years ago in my home town that I spent my teenage years in. We have an annual "bike week" and the week after bike week was unofficially dubbed "black bike week" where mostly black folks showed up on their crotch rockets. Many of the bars that are open during "bike week" to host the mostly white bikers on cruisers are flat out not open the week after during black bike week. Some argue that these "biker bars" close down because they are the traditional biker bars that want to host traditional bikers, not the crotch rocket bikers. Some argue the intent is flat out racism and they just don't want all the black folks around. I've argued for years that the reason why they decide to only open on one week and close down the following week is irrelevant whether it's a biker bar cultural prejudice against crotch rockets or a biker bar racism against the black people who show up on them. Fact is they don't HAVE TO open up their establishment to your event regardless of what your event is or their personal reasons why.

Bottom line is pretty simple, in situations like this story or in any of the situations mentioned above you literally have 2 choices. Either mandate to private businesses that they WILL be open for any and every event or deal with businesses being able to do this sort of thing. Write them a bad review on Yelp or something I don't know. Pointing out the hypocrisy of it is fine, I did so as well, but besides that there isn't exactly anything anyone can do about it unless you want to give the government the power to mandate when private business will be open which I don't think you do. I know I sure as hell don't.
