The largest religion in the world and representing 1/4th of the world's population, Islam, hasn't signed on.
Islam isn't like catholicism, it doesn't recognize the authority of a church. The only authority is the Quran and the Sunna, and it specific homosexuality as haram. It was true in 800, it's true today, and it would be true in the year 4000.
Christianity did not create homophobia in the religion of Islam. That's just the endless attempts of progressives to replace real history with fantasy history - and their love Muslims while hatred of Christians.
Inane, equine excrement. I for one neither love or hate Christians or Muslims. There are many Christians and many Muslims who are good people, while there are some Christians and some Muslims who are hateful, who are terrorists and who suffer from religious psychosis. Here, above, I am simply documenting the fact that you can't paint all Muslims with the same broad brush. I documented the fact that there are some Muslims who are not bigots against gay people. I really don't give a rats hind parts whether to accept that or not.
Ranting does not divert from the reality of the contrast between the vast majority of the religion of Islam to the vast majority of the religion of Christianity.
You can call it a rant. I call it the reccognition that religious beliefs can work for good or evil and that goes equally for all religions.
Right . All religions are not the same. I will grant you that in the present day, Islamic extremism is more overtly violen than Christian extremeism. However, extremism is still extremism regardless of how it is manifested and it always inflicts pain and suffering. Violence takes many forms other than physical. While fanatical christians my not usually engage in terrorism as it is usually thought of, their hateful rhetoric can and does incite violence. Words have consequences and all genocides began with the marginalization and dehumanization of groups of people, an artform that Evangelicals have mastered. You can disagree, but I do not believe that Islam is inherently any more hateful or violent than Christianity and that both deserve acceptance and the freedom to practice their beliefs to the extent that they do so without infringing on the rights and freedom of others
please provide fact-based example of "Christian extremeism" I am sure that you'll provide countless, recent incidents of Christians beheading people. i'll be waiting
Christianity has been for the most part tamed. But the bible is still spread, and the words used to encourage all the nastiness of past Christians is still there, so it could slide back in that direction in the future. Islam has had periods in time when it was less violent and hateful too.
