Quick poll question: Will there be armed violence in the Capital on Jan. 20th?

It's a simple question with no tricky, 'ramrod' wording or 'agenda'... just an attempt to find out what people think may, or may not happen on January 20th, when Joe Biden will take the Oath of Office at noon.

The poll question is only active from now through Jan. 19th. No changing of votes allowed, and you must vote to see poll results.

 

My vote (and my hope) is that there is no "armed violence" in the Capital on January 20th.

On top of everything else, there's going to be at least TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND NATIONAL GUARD TROOPS there to guarantee law-and-order. Who would be crazy enough to stage an "armed, violent" event against such a force...?

I hope that everybody will just 'stand-down' and let ol' Joe get sworn-in in peace. It will be a short, bland affair, and there won't be any crowds, any big celebrations, or anything. The Capital of the United States will, essentially, be shut totally down.

Sounds to me like a great day to just stay at home, avoid spreading the 'virus', get drunk, smoke weed, cruise one's favorite porn sites, or whatever....

 

I voted no not only for my hopes that we will not see violence in DC on that day, but I also believe such as you that anyone who would try with that many National Guard troops there must have a death wish.

I hope for a calm transition of power, but I also know Trump will do something ridiculous before he leaves. He can't help himself from acting like a petulant little bitch.

 

There will be no issues Weds. The show of force and restrictions will deter anyone who was thinking otherwise

 

I voted no. I question the intelligence of the average trumper but I honestly don't believe they're that stupid. We'll see.

 

My hope is that for most, the events of the 6th were a bit of a wake-up call to walk back from the brink. I know there will still be nuts out there on both sides that will try to capitalize on things for their own nutty ends, but I have to hope that the majority of folks out there, even if you're a Trump supporter, knows we can't let that event become a norm. We have to think of it as being the completely terrible disgraceful event that it was, even if one may be in agreement with the election fraud claims.

Every trump supporter I know backed the storming. Most DO want it to be the new normal until Trump is back in power. They are dangerous.

I will add that I 'circulate' in an admittedly conservative, Right-wing crowd, and -- every one of those I've personally heard speak about the Capitol Building invasion thought it was the stupidest, most self-destructive thing that anyone could have possibly done. It did catastrophic damage to everything that is seen as loyal, pro-America, and truly Conservative in this country....

It disgraced those who did actually commit acts of destruction and violence, and it did lasting damage to their reputations, to the whole concept of "law-and-order", and to the endemic commitment every Conservative, loyal American should have to the Constitution itself!

 

He's planning a grand send off for himself, complete with red carpet and military band and has asked about the possibility of a 21 gun salute. Will be interesting to see if Fox covers it instead of the inauguration.

 

It will end before noon - so really not an issue for Fox to show Trump's final narcissistic moment as president

 

Can you imagine Trump's reaction if Obama had tried to steal his thunder on inauguration day???

I believe that shocking little violence will occur on January 20.... (God Willing).... due to the leadership of Antifa already being well known and the accounts from which they were financed during 2020 have been frozen...... thus.... they lost their major incentive to demonstrate.

 

At the Capitol itself? Probably not, not after the National Guard has mobilized in the way it has. I certainly hope not. However, I fear there will be other terrorist attacks in the country tomorrow.
