So Christopher Columbus and the people on the Mayflower has to report to Ellis Island did they?

I have been to America once and loved it, as I also love many many aspects of American arts culture, and geographically it has some beautiful places, I also met some lovely people.
So the passion of what you call hatred is diluted somewhat.

No it is the hypocrisy of the immigration debate, and the dancing on the head of a pin aspects of it that get to me. Legal or illegal, democrat or republican, what Obama or Biden or Trump would do or has done, the arrogance of some posters on here disparaging other places, and the faux patriotism of describing America as the greatest country on earth, when in reality it is as mixed up a place as any other.

Take a look in the mirror for once America, the self delusion which came to the fore when those of us on the outside observed heavily armed but utterly delusional and moronic invaders of the Capitol is huge.

That is the public face of America sadly, and the frankly nasty current debate about immigration adds to the perception that yes you're rich, yes you're greedy. yes you're heavily armed, and yes you're astonishingly racist, and yes people go to a church to pray for peace and love in huge numbers, but your hypocrisy and nastiness towards others will eventually be your downfall.

Okay, so you live in Las Cruces ... I grew up in El Paso in the 60s/70s ... granted I grew up on the east side which was mostly white but the overall culture of El Paso was Mexican and I'm sure the same can be said of Las Cruces ... even I my side of town, we ate Mexican food (not Taco Bell) and had pinatas at birthday parties ... we just didn't live in bright purple or pink houses ...

Though the employers are the biggest draw, we have to acknowledge that the people who make a willful choice to violate the law by unlawfully entering a sovereign nation are solely responsible for their decision. That said, it should be far easier to become a citizen in this nation of immigrants. I have several friends in Los Angeles who are first generation naturalized, none of whom waited less than 15 years for their citizenship. I have one friend who waited 19 years. Her family came legally from Mexico, followed the rules, learned English, studied her US history and civics, and was sworn in as one of our fellow citizens in 2017. She says with tears in her eyes it was the proudest day of her life. We need to welcome immigrants with open arms. This does not mean we ignore the law because the solution for those who have jumped the line is an uncomfortable one. And objectively, it stands to reason the vast majority of illegal aliens are good, decent, hard-working people looking for a better life... part of that better life is contained in a nation governed under the rule of law. When we ignore the law for reasons of political convenience, or even reasons more cynical, we do a disservice to everyone involved, and we erode trust and faith in our republican form of government which is supposed to be impartial and is supposed to treat everyone equally under the law. We are either a nation of laws or we are not.

You are really straying off topic. There are plenty of threads (maybe thousands) where people complain about America, but this thread is about a policy of the incoming administration. If you don't even regard the discussion of immigration valid, you really are in the wrong thread.

Like you, I believe that people should be coming to the country legally. But I also see the unnecessarily bureaucratic wad that is our immigration process. To ignore that is to view the issue with blinders. Instead of making things easier, the layers of government bullsh!t has made things harder for people to legally come to this country. So you find the desperate folks who only want to make a lives for themselves acting 'criminally'.

At the end of the day, I don't see the illegal immigration issue as the biggest threat to our nation. Should it be addressed? Yes. Should it be resolved? Yes. Is it a 'pants on fire' situation? Not in my view.

Are you going to name a single minority community that isn't riddled with crime, drugs, and unemployment?

Fair enough. Reasonable people can disagree. Something doesn't have to be "the biggest threat" to be regulated by law in a nation of laws. And it certainly has the potential to be a 'pants on fire' situation if we simply turn a blind eye to millions of unvetted individuals pouring over an unregulated border. Beyond that, I think the law is important as it is the glue that holds a civilized society together. If we feel the laws are wrong, there is a process to change them. But ignoring them? That's just chaos...

Below is what Harris said in the debate. She played the race card and implied Biden is a racist. After the debate she was asked why she called Biden a racist and she said something along the line of 'come on, it was a debate, a debate,' as if calling Biden a racist during a debate is fair game. For a person from the party who hears dog whistles and code words in the phrase MAGA, what Harris said should be pretty apparent.

Lol she literally said: However, she began her critique by telling Biden “I do not believe you are a racist.”

Not for a long time since Trump tightened the border control and started building more wall. Did you watch the news this morning and the riot at the border in Guatemala where they stormed the border guards and over came them and now that group is heading to the Mexican border?

Yes and adult shows up with a child should they just be let through? And your presumptions are just that and fallacious. Try again should we not arrest parents anymore because it separates them or do illegal aliens get special treatment the citizens do not get.

Until it could be verified the adult was the parent of the child and the adult was not a criminal. So try again should we just open the border to any adult with any child? Should we stop arresting and taking into custody parents here because it would separate them from their children?

It makes them here illegally and criminal, the arrest warrant is just an additional crime and if the miss court it's because they choose to ignore it and live underground. And with a Biden administration they are breathing even easier because they know he will not come after them.

And if the police show up at the door with an arrest warrant for the misdemeanor and they see a child in the home do they not arrest the person because it would require separating the child from the parent?

Americans citizens are arrested and taken in to custody and separated from their children everyday BEFORE their trial or hearing. Why should the be treated more harshly than illegal aliens?

Posting the SAME (DEBUNKED) "Harris called Biden a Racist" BS? Again?:bored:

You mean that you STILL haven't gotten the memo?

Harris NEVER Called Biden a,"Racist" (nor did she "imply" it):

Kamala Harris did not call Joe Biden a racist on the debate stage

    https://www.newsweek.com/fact-check...biden-racist-during-democratic-debate-1536791

After the 100th Time, repeating the whole DEBUNKED "Harris called Biden a Racist" BS is some really weak sauce.:bored:

Anyway, back to the Actual OP Topic, I am in favor of Biden's Plan in regards to the 11 Million.

Why do you keep repeating that DEBUNKED BS?:bored:

Are Original "Talking Points" really wearing so thin that you have to Re-Post the SAME DEBUNKED BS for the 100th time?:bored:

Anyway, back to the OP, Biden's Plan sounds fine to me.

Yep - not questioning legality. Prostitution is also illegal, but we're not seeing folks (particularly from the religious right) up in arms over it.
