We strongly support states rights, don't throw it under the bus. However, we fully recognize the reality of the current political and judicial environment.

The States spoke on the election through their own election laws and the electoral vote certifications by the Governors. The attack on the Capitol and the Cruz motion were to negate those certifications for ten days while a special national committee audited the election. That committee would have been appointed by a federal Congress, thus assuming the powers of State Governors...i.e. shifting electoral power from the States to the Federal Government.

Fair point but you failed to mention that some states didn't follow their own laws.

With 25,000 troops in Washington D.C., we have in effect martial law called by Congress and the Vice President and a defacto implementation of the 25th Amendment.

The Courts determine whether they did or didn't...not you, not me, not the QAnon Shaman.

The courts refused get involved. So we get down to opinions.

By refusing to hear the case, the courts, in effect, decided that Trump had no case.

Or they decided they didn't want to get involved with the issue and I don't blame them for that.

Either way. I think you are basically right. The Courts have usually been reluctant to get between the other branches (Congress and the Executive). Alan Dershowitz called the SCOTUS Bush v. Gore decision the most corrupt Supreme Court decision in our history, because he felt it based entirely on politics, not law. He has since flipped and, I believe, offering to defend the President in his Senate impeachment trial, as he did in Trump's first trial.
But, you could also say that in their refusals to hear the President's case, they are politely saying: "You don't have a case to hear."

If they didn't take a case, even though they knew it was stolen, they were utterly negligent.

But, that's not what happened, so...

I wasn't aware that there was any negligence in government. ;)

    25,000 troops.

Zero troops for months and months of rioting, murder, assaults, arson and property destruction on Main St, USA.

But politicians are sooo much more important than the peasants, right?

Why would Trump appointed judges collude with thousands of democrats to steal an election? Is Trump just a terrible picker of judges?

Same question re: Republican governors, secretaries of state and election officials? Why did they collude with all these super smart democrats?

Logistics is the enemy of conspiracy theorists.

Hahaha...it's a bit more complicated than that. You should take a civics course or just read a book. "Main Street" is essentially covered by State law enforcement overseen by State government (State Governors, State Legislatures and State Judiciaries). Occasionally, a federal building within a State is attacked (e.g. a Portland, Oregon federal building, the Oklahoma City bombing, etc.). In this cases Federal and State law enforcement works together and there are both Federal and State law violations. But, most of the protest-turned-riot violence we see is the responsibility of State and local law enforcement...and hence State and local law enforcement.

If one doesn't understand the Difference between a Deadly Mob Storming the U.S. Capitol and a random (unrelated) event in a random city--Then, any further discussion of the matter is rendered fruitless.

The only criticism that I have about this massive military presence IS:

Where were they 2 weeks ago?

Everybody saw the Jan.6th attack coming (from a Violent Trump-Inspired Mob).

Speaking of civics courses, it may interest you to know that the NG acts on the orders of a state’s Governor. So, you see, a refusal to call out the Guard is a decision made at the state level, and that’s what we saw for months on end while Antifa terrorists and their useful idiots were carrying out their insurrections in our cities.

These were political decisions made out of weakness and sympathy for the terrorists. Main Street was left unprotected which of course was a betrayal by these mayors and governors of their duty to their peaceful law-abiding citizens who elected them.

But let the politicians get scared, and you instantly get 25,000 NG troops on the streets.

What a bunch of hypocritical, frightened little Bambis!

If it was my inauguration, I would want the NG to go home, and I would show just a little courage.

I can’t believe these politicians are the descendants of past Americans who fought the Revolution and WW2. It’s a sad truth that the average 18 year old PFC in the Army has more courage and grit than they do, by a long shot.

    That’s how I see it.

Completely agree, and 3/4th of the guard there probably voted for President Trump, lol.

You have to win an election to be inaugurated. Biden will be installed.

Insurrection is insurrection. Terrorism is terrorism. I object to the idea you just voiced that we should “see the difference.”

I assume their allegiance is also to the Constitution and not to Trump, who will be ex-President Trump tomorrow afternoon. IMO, Trump should be worrying more about staying out of jail than finding a way to a second term.
