So you are saying it takes male hormones and genetics to be "qualified "? Sad.....

So you’re upset at Biden because you didn’t bother to even read what he said? Lol

“Dr. Rachel Levine will bring the steady leadership and essential expertise we need to get people through this pandemic — no matter their zip code, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability — and meet the public health needs of our country in this critical moment and beyond,"

WHAT? Most of Biden's picks have been garbage, but this is the top of it all. Since it's local to PA, I can inform you that she/he pulled his/her grandmother out of nursing homes, while not extending the same courtesy to others exactly like Cuomo in New York.

I can't wait for 2024 to vote out the ticket.

How did she prevent people in PA from pulling their parents out of nursing homes??

You very well could be without even knowing it yourself, particularly if you are going out of your way to attack people who have no relationship to you and probably never will. In the meantime keep on being the model of tolerance we all know you are

You and I both know at the early stages of the outbreak, there were restrictions to visitations, etc(and obviously that would include moving these people from the literally living coffins they were put in.) But we also are aware of the specialness of politicians during the pandemic, which led to the travesty and frankly it increased the chain of infection more than it had to be. It was more consequential than non-mask wearing IMO.

So yes, I have a problem with people being appointed with privileges. But even more than that, "firsts" and "historic" is just insulting to our government.
I want our government to return to meritocracy on its merits. You could've found ANY physician(who didn't quite fit a first narrative) that had the same qualifications. He could've picked ANY physician in PA, but instead he chose to poach from the Wolf Administration(not a well liked administration in PA)

I will say however, that she won't add any bad or good to the department. It's just not a pick I would have made.

    True.

It has been ever since an Unqualified Imbecile (Trump) Was Mistakenly-Elected.

Thankfully, at this time tomorrow, the Adults will be back in charge.

Also, Dr. Levine seems very well-qualified.

Our only question, as damn "constituents" should be re. Qualifications, qualifications, qualifications... I fear that this administration cares more about PC optics than the actual job... Prove us wrong Rachel Levine! I say this cus I could mention a dozen or so OBVIOUSLY more qualified individuals that are currently in the 'public realm'... Hope your, inconveniently bestowed, swinging organs work for you / ostensibly - US in this your new role...

'Fear'? Damn near every pick has been about the progressive 'view of the world', right down to the damn VICE Presidency. Through Biden's term, we'll come to lament such a weak administration and in 2024 we will hopefully as a nation decide that someone who runs on the merit of building our nation comes to the forth front.

I don’t think that would be obvious and I bet anyone could have moved their relatives.

I guess, to be succinct, I disagreed with the liberal response to the coronavirus(and hold it partially responsible for the deaths in the nursing homes) and now, that response will basically be front and center.

I don't care about hair color, the way people dress, or the pronouns they use. There are more important concerns . . . ones that are actually real. Not sure why Trumpists can't come to terms with reason on that front.

Pretending you are a woman, while being born with a penis is a mental disorder.

If she desires to live a life facilitating this disorder, more power to him. He is free to have that right.

However; to then put somebody with a mental disorder, a healthcare issue, as the Assistant National Health Secretary is an issue.

If you had somebody that was a doctor who was 100 pounds overweight, smoked 2 packs a day, and drank a six pack every night, I think people would be a little confused as to them being the poster child for national health issues but pretend you're a different gender and the identity politics crowd look the otherway and in fact celebrate it.

I'm sure he can do his job. Apparently, so does his daughter, she's also MD.

Neither do I, until they force those beliefs onto me and my family. I don't have to play make believe just to satisfies other mental health.

Being put into an office to help lead the nation for issues he is obviously suffering from is the issue.

Not a Democrat and I don't recall ever making fun of Trump's hair. Still, I don't see any issue with poking fun at someone's appearance as long as you are backing it up with complaints about more important issues . . . like Trump being a thievish conman, for example.

If she was not trans, and just a male pediatrician from Pennsylvania, with the same resume... would have he have been appointed by that Governor and now President Elect?

    Based on those qualifications. No.

    And that is the issue.
