    Probably this is The Question.

I remember the expectation generated by Obama [I was moderator of a US political forum in that period, btw]. After 8 years they were still there expecting something from Obama ... who won a Peace Nobel Prize without reason and then who didn't move a finger to avoid wards all around the Muslim world [Nobel Academy had to request that Nobel Prize back ...].

So ... what do you expect from President Biden?

Obama accomplished quite a bit during the 2 years Democrats had some control of Congress. But now it's up to Republicans if they want to govern, or if they are planning on repeating the obstructionist agenda they carried out during the Obama administration. I'm afraid I see much obstructionism while McConnell is in charge of Senate Republicans. But hopefully Biden will get some sort of "honeymoon period".

    Cool story, bro.

Several problems, your sentence structure is wrong for someone who claims to be a moderator of a US Political Forum and no, there
is no such thing as the Nobel Academy, which a moderator of a Political Forum would know. Try again.

He probably can't meet them all, but at least he will try.

They have all 3 branches. He should be able to accomplish more than most. Now is that good? i have no idea. So far it seems his policies are about cramming in as many illegals into the USA as possible and having 6 foot 4" men in dresses competing against women in sports, but hey, i'm sure at least SOME of his policies might be useful..i'm wishing him well

If, instead of a bunch of ass kissers, Joe has qualified, honorable people heading each individual program the answer yes. He will be able to delegate each individual responsibility to someone who is capable of the task. That's unlike trump who had idiots in positions that forced him to be the sole decision maker. Of course, that's the way a dictator wants things.

Let's develop this point ... did they vote for Biden to see him only try?
Who voted for Trump knew that he was going against a system totally adverse and hostile to his vision.
Expectations were less lower [but at the end the way he has faced Covid-19 has been below those expectations anyway].

So ... President Biden is going to run his administration in a not easy context.
He seems to be thinking to focus his attention on vaccines and Covid-19 outbreak. Ok. Great.
But probably who has voted for him expects that, after trying, he will get some results ...

You're welcome ... good try. It's an old rhetoric trick not to face the argument, but to attack the individual, but I don't mind.

Would you care to comment the arguments?

All I expect of Biden is for him to bring back some sanity to government, a return to normalcy. If he does nothing else, my vote for him will be well earned. It will be enough just not to have a 74 year old who behaves like a four year old spoiled brat calling others names and throwing temper tantrums, who used 3rd grade schoolyard bullying tactics not to occupy the highest position in the land.

Normalcy, sanity, that is quite enough for me. Having a full grown adult in the Oval Office, mentally that is, not age wise, that is more than enough. I'm satisfied.

When I think of Biden and expectations I'm thinking of him not crapping his pants or drooling during a speech. He enters the presidency at the lowest functioning level of any president in history. Might not be a bad thing.

    What arguments?

What is an old rhetoric trick is saying "you didn't respond to may arguments" when you didn't provide any arguments in the first place.

Certainly in the case of COVID the answer is yes, since Trump hasn't done anything in months.

Which of Biden's plans are you interested I'll give you an opinion.

The absence of management of the sanitary crisis caused by COVID outbreak has been substantially the reason why I've politically left Trump.
And since I'm really interested in the matter, there are a couple of points in Biden's program which I would like to discover [just about expectations, let's see what he has written in his political program].

Vaccination campaign. I've heard that he has said to want to vaccinate 100,000,000 of Americans in 100 days [this means, with the available vaccines 200,000,000 shots: 2,000,000 shots per day, not impossible in US].

Economical recovery. Trump's aids aside, what is going to do? [More or better?].

Ok, cousin ["bro" is a bit too much: let's not become immediately so confidential ...], it's clear you want to make it rhetorical ... with an Italian ...
If you care to read the OP, you will find out [with a great surprise, I guess] that this thread is about the level of expectation which exists about the incoming Biden administration.

Do you expect him to leave and to be substituted by Mrs Harris in a couple of years?

Have you bothered to even look at his nominees thus far? It's a who's who of corporate shills with an occasional far left lunatic thrown in for good measure. If you liked Bernie his proposed cabinet should mostly give you nightmares.

It's not clear if he has said all 100 million would get both doses. He also said that when the Trump team said they still had the second doses in reserve (They didn't).
But having said that I think he will certainly get the initial dose to 100 million without missing the second shots.

In my mind the economic recovery depends on the success of the vaccine. So I tie those two together.
But if you mean an interim plan I think he will push for more and better.
I'm not a big fan of stimulus checks, but I do favor unemployment increase, just not to median wage.
I like the aid to schools not only for the sake of learning, but getting parents back to work.
Unlike the Trumpers I favor aid for state & local gov't.. Since they require balanced budgets this will reduce the number of unemployed that will occur in the next budget cycle.
I'm not sure if there is money there for education, but the last crash taught us that a lot of jobs never come back because the way of doing business has changed. I for example can't see myself walking the isles of a grocery store after discovering how easy ordering online and picking up is.

Also in EU the demand is moving towards internet and obviously the offer is following it.
I cannot say if it's negative or not about employment.

The great economical advantage of a supermarket is that the customer enters directly in the warehouse, picking the goods, packaging them and transporting them ... [and the supermarket make you buy even the shoppers!].

If you buy online, a worker will have to collect your goods in a warehouse [or he/she will have to give the commands to a robot], to package them and a carrier will have to bring the goods to you. Usually online e-commerce means that you will pay something for the transport of the goods.

For example in Italy there are supermarket chains who have recycled workers to serve internet customers.
There are two levels: some supermarket chains allow you to order your grocery shopping online and then you can go and collect it c/o the supermarket; other supermarket chains send a carrier to bring to you the grocery shopping you have ordered online.

At the end supermarkets work in any case.

The real problem is that the pandemic has caused a dramatic contraction of the demand. It's about the level of trust into the near future: if you are too concerned you will tend to save money [one never knows!]. But doing this you reduce the demand and the circulating monetary mass. This wouldn't be a problem if the money that you have saved has collected by investors who invest it in productive activities.

But when the demand is low, the financial sector feeds itself: banks and financial operators invest in financial products ... no real economy.

Now, there could be a way out: green economy. That could be a kind of new engine for the global economy. It's new and countries tend to invest in it public money. I have personally invested in "green bounds" [in Italy we are all environmentalists, liberals or conservatives, it doesn't mind ... but overall we invest in something which make you gain something ...].

I agree with what you wrote, but another factor that Biden brings as opposed to the previous one is that Biden does have a heart. His empathy and genuine concern are what this country needs, and I can tell Joe is itching to be able to act on changes and policies that affect the average American, not just pay lip service to it like you know who.

In addition to that, I believe Biden's administration will be transparent and we will find out some of the dirty dealings that Trump has done that has as yet to see the light of day.

Since most people seem to think that he won't live to the end of his term given his age and overall mental acuity, I wouldn't call it "sky high" expectations.
