If Donald Trump isn't held accountable not only for the Capitol riot, but also for his misleading propaganda aimed at hijacking democracy, it will be a clear signal that the country isn't taking steps to counter the aims of an autocrat.

And sooner or later, another will want to follow in Trump's footsteps and try to install an authoritarian regime in the US.

If Scalise wants unity, maybe he can finally publicly acknowledge Biden's victory. That may be a start. Look at your own behavior first, before you tell others what to do.

    No he couldn’t.

there is nothing he could do to achieve unity after his party divided the nation like this.

Both impeachment’s were nonsense, Trump isn’t responsible for the riot, dems logic around that as usual is flimsy and hypocritical.

It’s ultimately a nothing burger anyways

He should have done so from the get go and told Pelosi that under no circumstances did he support this move and the impact it would have on his inauguration and first weeks in office and his proclaimed desire to bring the country together. But then when has he ever shown any leadership and ability to accomplish anything.
