Ken Cuccinelli Claims Pelosi Asked For ‘Crew-Manned Machine Guns’ In Washington

Either Pelosi is murderously insane or she wanted to show as much military force as possible in order to have it reflect badly on Trump supporters. The real answer is probably both.

Keep in mind this is the woman who said it's patriotic to protest and is someone I don't recall criticizing the blm and antifa riots. What I do recall, however, is how just about every democrat politician demonized Trump for offering to send in federal help in shutting down the violent and deadly antifa and blm riots, but now Pelosi wants machine gun crews.

That said, Cuccinelli was responsible for the security of the Capitol building on 1/6/21 too. !!!! I don't like the idea of killing US citizens on the streets. Whether it be a BLM death or a Proud Boys death, due process is required. I have had some unpleasant legal experiences, so even the people I despise still require representation and due process.

That that said, I agree the insurrection did warrent at the minimum corporeal responses, and a few capital responses. Hence why the training of police forces must adhere to the strictest of standards. Machine guns were not necessary.

It was likely to frame military as being a Democrat-owned instituion. Normally military and foreign policy is associated with Republicans but this took away from that perception.

It was an insanely partisan show of force that would otherwise be framed as an authoritarian boast if organized by anyone else.

 

Since the Trump insurrectionists provoked this show of force, they now get to live with it. The images of an empty capitol , and Capitol, loaded with troops and heavy weapons on inauguration day will make fine illustrations for generations to come. School teachers will be teaching kids about the Trump Sedition and Insurrection for decades.

I was once involved in an engineering conference in Tidewater Va. The subject was what to do about rising sea levels, which were beginning to put real stress on the storm water systems of all the communities there (expecially Norfolk). The conference had to be cancelled, and later rebranded because then Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli objected to the use of state funds for work on a “theory”.

Meanwhile, storm drains continued to back up at low tide.
