Yup, you would think people would see that as soon as there is a "TELL ALL BOOK", I mean honestly! Are people still that naive in todays world?

What I am saying subtly is that we should accept that there are firsts but why do we need to be on a repeating loop telling us what is the obvious.

Adequate representation. I'm not exactly sure how someone gets 'adequate representation' by a person in a position doing the job they were paid to do. All people should be treated equally, regardless of any characteristic. Or has that basis changed?

I personally couldn't care less about a persons physical characteristics. Are they qualified for the job? Will they do it impartially?
If one is to use the phrase 'adequate representation' based on physical characteristics in that discussion, then the answer would be no, people would be expecting better treatment based on their physical identity.

Talk about dividing a country, it seems people are actually reveling in it....

Funny how they didn't seem to have issue when Trump would brag about being the only president to do something

Unfortunately, I have to ask the other question why his niece can't rate his character? Who can generally evaluate the character of another person? Ultimately, an assessment of the character of another person is ALWAYS shaped by a personal point of view, opinion and also personal experience. And of course, others have different point of views, opinions and experiences in this regard too.

And you are now an example of how people deal with such statements about a person's character. Basically there is only a rejection like with you now or the approval and sharing of this judgement of the character. And this is again also and ALLWAYS ruled by the personal opinion too! Isn't it?

And right this is your personal opinion as reaction now, done out of your personla opinion about Trump which is another one as that of his niece, isn't it?

I in reverse agree with her in most parts and seit like she does!

I can't speak for other people, but my reaction is the same. So what if the are x, y or z. Are they good at what they do?

Today's world is a whole lot different then 70 years ago, where people were overcoming obstacles. Any obstacles have been legally, and for most, morally removed. We are supposed to be 'enlightened', but to make a to do about a physical characteristic means people aren't enlightened at all. Why should that be celebrated?

Well sure, if you forget about the big deals made when the first black players broke the color barrier for each sport back in the "good ole days". Point being, firsts are by no means anything new.

Firsts are noteworthy. Always have been, always will be. Not just politics. Who was the first man in space?

What part of my reference to 70 years ago was vague?

Any acknowledgement of physical characteristics by someone other than a liberal is called racism, yet the liberal side keeps holding up physical characteristics as something to be celebrated.

It would be helpful if people would just stop with it, treat all people equally, and quit perpetuating things based on identity. One could only hope....

Gotcha. As long as it was a white man, it was important.

A big deal was made of JFK being first catholic president. That wasn't overcoming an "obstacle", but it WAS a first. First aren't just about physical characteristics.

The fact that I am leary about accepting opinions as facts since there obviously is no guarantee that an opinion expresses reality.

US society has always been divided in a certain way from the start ... sometimes more, sometimes less. Think about the issue of slavery, which relates to rights.
Recently, a dangerous trench has been opening in US society since around 25 years now ... more precisely since the presidency of Bill Clinton at the time. This is exactly where the split between lefty and righty began with all the "blah blah blah" around it.
Bush Jr. and Obama have unfortunately not closed the trench, but deepened it in their presidency. Bush especially with his criminal Iraq war and the many lies and scandals involved ... Obama especially with his neglect of the white American middle class, especially in the Midwest and also in the South, because there are not only many poor black US citizens , there are also many poor white US citizens which he ignored at least mostly!

With all his behavior, Donald Trump has massively enlarged the trench with a bulldozer and in the last 4 years US society has split into pro-Trump or anti-Trump. And, as in any war, the first victim in this conflict was the truth!
Even if both sides have to put up with allegations here, the main accusation is clearly with Trump ... and his supporters too! As often as Trump twisted the facts until he liked them, to the point of outright lies, is breathtaking! In addition, he did it with a behavior that is repugnant for many and often reminded of the small mafiosi Berlusconi in Italy, right up to Mussolini himself!

Let's take one of Trumps favorite subjects ... the wall on Mexico and that Mexico will pay for it. What is the truth? Apart from the meaning of the wall, what an issue in itself ... how much has Mexico paid so far? Nothing! Everything was paid by the US taxpayer!
And? What is the reaction of his supporters to this outright election lie from Trump? Nothing ... no criticism of Trump! On the contrary, only indifferent shrugs up to ridiculous phrases of "someday Mexico will somehow pay for it" in response to the justified criticism of Trump's opponents!

This clearly shows the character in US society and how deeply divided it is.

Let us be honest here and remember that the Trumpocity owned his own "Afro-American guy". Did you you forget that the Trumpocity would ask at his rallies " Where is MY Afro-American?". I condemn all partied for playing identity politics. Wasn't that opbvious from my OP,

So you of course were upset with Trump for constantly talking about how much he helped black people right?

Whatever Uncle Joe's reason is I still do not need to be told a million times that Harris is the first Black Southwest Indian woman-person to hold the office of VP.

It is the same thing that drove me to want to vomit when the
Trumpocity repeated a trillion times " this is the best, biggest, most beautiful, bestiest, greaterest, no one has ever see, ...think that ever happened and it only happened in my greatest bestest administration... ."

I have several Nieces and I don't think they know me well enough to rate my character.. But for a tidy sum of money, I'm sure they could go with the flow/narrative of the perspective audience or potential buyers of their "Tell all Book" ;) I'm not saying in your world, that nieces, cousins, uncles and next door neighbors know you well enough to write a book about your inner self, but in my case, that's hardly the case! My wife of 47 years, MAYBE, but she took that to the grave two years ago..

She is a trained, licensed psychologist and an insider in that family.

No, I don't believe this is a case of capitalizing off her last name.

    Your mileage may vary.

Of course, only the ability should always play a role and nothing else! Only did it do that so far? Why is there the first black coach or the first female vice president only now and not sooner? Were all blacks too incapable of being a coach in the past, or were all women too stupid to become Vice President of the USA?
So there were ... let's say ... certain reasons that it didn't exist before. These reasons apparently no longer exist and so we have premieres that can be highlighted, right?

OK, but who is able to rate your character then ... in general and / or in your opinion?
